Fenton Farmhouse and cottages are tucked
away only a mile from Little Haven on a working 100-acre arable
farm. Farm amalgamation has allowed these buildings to be
converted to comfortable holiday homes.
Feel free to wander
across any of the fields, visit the reservoir where wild duck
fly in at night, keep your eyes open for Mr Badger who takes
a nightly stroll down Fenton Lane. Foxes and rabbits abound,
pheasants are heard calling to each other and, in the spring
and summer, skylarks hover overhead.
There is no restriction
on dogs being allowed to bound over the fields. The hedgerows
hang with blackberries in the autumn and now, by avoiding
the use of insecticides, wild birds and plants are being encouraged
to make their homes here. There are many wonderful beaches
in the area, and you are not far from Martins Haven for a
boat trip to the islands of Skomer and Skokholm, Dale for
windsurfing, Newgale for surfing, and Marloes sands, St Brides
and Little Haven for safe swimming. |
