Half of Pembrokeshire's award winning sandy beaches are found along this wonderful southern coastline. Many parts of it are thought to resemble the Mediterranean with lush vegetation, palm trees, warm red rocks and very white sands. Five castles guarded the gentle south and you get the chance to book accommodation within Manorbier Castle and the Tudor Walls of Tenby. Each conceals a "Coastal Cottage of Pembrokeshire".
Tenby is a typical Victorian Resort with two lovely beaches and lots to do within the town and the surrounding countryside. Oakwood Theme Park is just one of the many major attractions available and there is something new to explore every day of your holiday. As you travel east and west of Tenby, quiet seaside villages and hidden riverbank cottages provide a very different holiday.
Cottages South Pembrokeshire There are opportunies to hire boats or book trips to the islands and along the 22 miles of navigable river, which now offers a very special holiday area and is described in our "Down by the Riverside" section on page 79. As in the rest of the County the National Trust have acquired many of the more picturesque bays and cliffs, including Bosherston Lily Ponds and the Colby Estate at Amroth.
