Folly Farm Aventure Park & Zoo

First up is Folly Farm, a firm favourite with all who live and visit the area. This fantastic adventure park and zoo is home to an array of animals, not just to those you might spot on the farmyard but more exotic zoo animals too. Expect to see pigs, goats and chickens as well as monkeys, giraffes, lions and penguins at this great attraction near Saundersfoot.

There is also an adventure playground, an indoor vintage funfair, a café, restaurant and plenty of picnic spots making Folly Farm one of the most popular days out around. You can easily spend a whole day here just beware, you may have to drag the little ones away when you want to go home!

Llys Y Fran Country Park & Reservoir

Having been closed for a couple of years, this outdoorsy location near Narberth is set to open in spring 2021. Before closing this was always a popular haunt for families and walkers, particularly so as entry is free. Bring along a picnic and spend the day strolling along the 6.5-mile woodland walk around the park, stopping at one of the many beautiful viewpoints for a glimpse of the reservoir.

This impressive 212-acre reservoir is situated amongst 350 acres of countryside which also houses a café and a playground. Spend the morning enjoying the walk followed by a spot of lunch, then sit back and relax whilst the little ones use up all their energy in the playground. You’ll also be pleased to know that dogs are welcomed as long as they’re kept on leads at all times.

The Garden is also well-known to host various special events through the year, including Classic Car Runs, Christmas Fairs and more. The Bug Farm

Just outside of St Davids is The Bug Farm, a truly unique attraction not-to-be-missed. Still a working farm, Dr Sarah Beynon has created a hive of activity focussed on all things bugs at this exciting attraction. The Bug Farm, also a Scientific Research Centre, welcomes visitors to get up close with a wide variety of bugs and insects with handling sessions, workshops and lectures. Take part in the Bug Farm Trail, explore the Tropical Bug Zoo and venture to the Bug Museum too.

Finish your day off here with a memorable visit to The Grub Kitchen where you can test your bravery and sample some edible bugs with their one-of-a-kind menu. Will you be able to brave a critter cookie or a bug burger? Well behaved dogs on leads are welcomed.
