Month: May 2009

Here I am, back in the office after a blissful month off and still aglow after the most beautiful, magical and memorable wedding. Having caught up on all the news, we are now all looking forward to June – it seems that summer is here at last. The weather is absolutely divine and long may it continue! My kayak has at long last come out of hibernation and is raring to go, and Tessa has her boat out on the water and is putting it to excellent use. She has been updating me on the progress of her bee hives […]

It would be interesting to know how Father’s Day came into practice and why it’s celebrated worldwide? The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington.A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father’s Day while listening to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909. Having been raised by her father, William Jackson Smart, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. In 1926, a National Father’s Day Committee was formed in New York City. Father’s Day was recognized by […]

Well I suppose […]

Gosh what a marvellous weekend has just passed yet again, I am getting highly used to waking up to glorious sunshine…please don’t let it disappear! At the moment, well since the end of February really Jed (my furry pooch) and I have been intensely training for the Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk which will challenge participants to a 26 mile walk on Sunday 17th May. Jed has never been happier, an abundance of walks lasting for a minimum of four hours is naturally any dog’s heaven. Though he is getting on a little now at 12, but he is as bouncing as […]

Pembrokeshire’s magic has cast its spell over the producers of the next Harry Potter film. Freshwater West is being used as a location for the final film in the Harry Potter series, based on the final book in the J. K. Rowling series.
