Having grown up in Pembrokeshire, my childhood memories of summer are filled with days spent building sandcastles and splashing in the shores of our sandy beaches. Living here, the beach has never been far away, so when I’m asked to give advice about things to do and where to say, I’m often drawn to those closest to the coast.
That being said, it’s no wonder that Pebbles in Saundersfoot has caught my eye.
Sleeping up to six, Pebbles (Property Ref: 43340) is a three bedroom semi-detached house just a short walk from Saundersfoot’s picturesque harbour and sandy beach. Situated above the busy seaside town, Pebbles is set in the quiet setting of a small cul-de-sac. This welcoming cottage is both comfortable and practical with laminate flooring and a well-equipped fitted kitchen.
The enclosed, rear garden makes a perfect retreat for an alfresco breakfast or an evening barbecue, especially as it is a real sun-trap on those summer’s days! Thoughtful landscaping, a raised deck and a seaside theme enhance the beauty of this space.
There is no denying that Pebbles is the ideal choice for couples and families. The owners have ensured the property is child friendly and provide a cot, highchair, stairgate, baby monitors and a changing mat as well as plastic bowls and cutlery for your use. Pebbles welcomes two pets and having a bedroom with ensuite, a kitchen and a living area on one floor can come in handy*.
A short but steep downhill walk from Pebbles takes you to the centre of the harbour-side town where you will find a range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Enjoy some local fish and chips followed by a stroll on the beach or pop into The Boathouse for an evening meal. Sample a delicious cone (or two!) of ice cream from the little hut along the seafront and I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Wander along the tunnels to the neighbouring villages of Wiseman’s Bridge, Stepaside and Amroth or spend the day exploring Tenby’s bustling seaside town with its selection of beautiful sandy beaches, shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Head down to Tenby harbour and take a boat out the tranquil island of Caldey which is inhabited by monks or travel slightly further afield to popular attractions such as Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Heatherton Country Sports Park or The Dinosaur Park.
