Dig out the woolly scarves, knitted gloves and bobble hats because Guy Fawkes night is just around the corner and these fantastic fireworks displays are calling your name! In true Pembrokeshire style, there are a number of Bonfire Night celebrations taking place on various dates across the county so the hardest decision will be choosing which to attend.
Celebrate Early on Saturday 3rd November
With the help of the Fishguard & District Round Table, Goodwick Scout Group are hosting a bonfire and fireworks display from 6pm. Taking place at The Parrog in Goodwick, there promises to be impressive views with fireworks over the water. There will also be a barbecue and refreshments available.
In neighbouring Ceredigion, New Quay are putting on a fireworks display over the harbour from 7pm. Enjoy a day exploring the Ceredigion coast before settling at the harbour for what is sure to be an impressive display if last year is anything to go by!
A popular display in the county is the one which takes place in Whitland each year. This annual event is arranged by the Narberth & Whitland Round Table, and is due to take place at Parc Dr Owen this year. Full details are yet to be announced so keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more details as they are announced.
Solva’s Annual Fireworks Display is also taking place on the 3rd from 7pm. Pop into The Ship Inn for some live music and a refreshing beverage or venture into MamGu Welshcakes for homemade cawl, Welsh rarebit toasties, mulled wine and cider or a brand-new cinnamon and bramley apple welshcake!
Or Stick to Tradition and Celebrate on Monday 5th November
Milford Haven Round Table will be hosting a fireworks display and more at Mackerel Quay this year. From 5pm until 8pm, there will be live music performances and a funfair for the little ones to enjoy before the fireworks display take place over the waterway. There will also be refreshments available with hot food stalls. This event is completely free to attend.
Llys Y Fran’s annual bonfire night celebrations are often a favourite in the area. Set in the peaceful location of Llys Y Fran reservoir, this event is organised by Llys Y Fran YFC and promises to be a great night for all the family. Entry costs just £2 and the display is scheduled to start around 7pm. Food and drinks will be available, you can even purchase your own glowsticks too!
Carmarthen Park is set to host yet another spectacular display on the 5th. With fireworks, live entertainment plus a funfair, there really is plenty of fun to be had! A community run event, tickets start at £5 with all proceeds raised being put back into the community. Gates open at 5.30pm, a children’s display will begin at 7pm followed by the main fireworks display taking place at 8pm. Hot food and refreshments will be available.
