About 35 Bryn Road

35 Bryn Road is a traditional, stone, mid-terrace cottage in the heart of the popular tiny city of St Davids. The historical Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace, as well as its excellent range of shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries are all within a short stroll. This characterful cottage has white washed walls, exposed beams, slate floors and warm wood panelling to give it a simplistic rustic charm. The dual-aspect open plan living space has comfortable leather sofas and a wood burning stove for cosying round on those colder evenings. The compact, fitted kitchen leads out to a rear enclosed courtyard, a sheltered spot to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening. Stairs lead to the pretty, white bedrooms above with wooden floors.

Perfectly positioned to enjoy all the facilities in St Davids, the nearest beach, Caerfai, is less than a 1 mile away, join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to explore this stunning coastline. Alternatively a short drive will take you to the sandy beach of Whitesands where families and professional surfers mingle. Enjoy a boat trip round or to Ramsey Island to really observe the bird and wildlife, different seasons bring different visitors including seals and shearwaters.

A cosy holiday retreat all year round.

We loved staying here, exploring St Davids, went wave jumping, had many ice creams from 'The Bench'. Also enjoyed fajitas and a movie night whilst trying to remember how to build a fire (success). Thank you for your hospitality.

After many years trying, got onto a shear water boat trip in lovely weather. Heard the cuckoo for the first time in Pembs (below Carn Llidi). Enjoyed the Welsh rarebit at Porthgain and an afternoon on Marloes where the rocks in the middle of the beach make a great backrest for reading.

The Hughes Family

A really fine week weather wise and the coastal path flowers have been spectacular. We visited our 3 favourite art galleries – Goat Street first down the road here where Amanda’s embroideries and Daniel’s pottery and paintings can be seen; Harbour Lights in Porthgain with an eclectic mix of local artists and the West Wales Art Gallery in Fishguard where you can see David Tress’s pictures. The bookshop next door also has a great selection.

The Whiles

We enjoyed our holiday here, beds comfortable, nice and cosy. Had Sunday lunch at The Cwtch, good as usual. Takeaway fish and chips from the shed and really excellent seafood platter from Mrs 'Will the Fish' Solva. Lovely and fresh and well prepared. We would love to return to this cottage.

The Frost Family

A beautiful, cosy, pretty, well-equipped cottage only seconds from the high street and Cathedral. We will be back, thank you! Saffron Indian Restaurant in Non Street is excellent - big portions, excellent food and service and very good value.

The Redfords

An extremely well appointed and comfortable, dog friendly cottage. We have had a lovely winter break with surprisingly good weather for many of the days. Thank you.

The Owens Family

We've all had such a great time staying here, we really don't want to leave! :( The cottage is so cosy and well equipped. The children loved the toys and books and we loved the prosecco and peace and quiet! Thank you! We had some great days out to Whitesands, Solva, Porthgain. Loved the walk from Porthgain to the Blue Lagoon in Abereiddy. Visited the lifeboat in St. Justinian's. Great meals in The Sloop and The Shed in Porthgain, Cafe 35 in Solva, The Cross in St Davids and Pebbles Cafe, and Saffron Indian restaurant - excellent takeaway. Also Cathedral and Bishops Palace well worth a visit. We will be back - thank you! :) x

The Williams and Wally the Jack Russell.

A lovely, cosy, well appointed cottage in a great central location. We've had a great time on our first proper visit to St David's. Highlights for us were the coastal walks to Solva and back, walking up Carn Llidi and a trip to Porthgain and walks to and around Abereiddy. We have never experienced better fish and chips than at The Shed in Porthgain! We've been blessed with excellent weather this week which was an additional bonus. Many thanks again.

Rating 9/10 We'd like to let you know that we had a wonderful stay in Hafan Bach Cymreig (35 Bryn Road). It really was a brilliant holiday in the perfect spot, such a great way to spend Christmas. It was very well appointed, stylish, everything spick and span. We loved the wood burner, which made the cottage lovely and toasty after blustery coastal walks - we walked about 70km, never taking the car once, it's probably the best location in West Wales for that, with the whole peninsula on the doorstep. The walk to/from Solva was our favourite, and Porthselau beach was dog-heaven. There was a lot of parking space on the road, either directly opposite the cottage or just around the corner on Meas-y-Hedydd. We were impressed with the amount and quality of utensils, cutlery, crockery the kitchen. The TV and DVD were perfect, the WiFi was fine, the beds were comfortable. The extra toilet was a bonus and very clean. We did find the Christmas tree eventually, and it was very nice, taking prime spot in the room. We visited St. David's last Christmas, when we stayed in Manorbier (with Coastal Cottages), and realised that it is prefect for christmas, because it doesn't shut down. There is a lot going on (the First Eucharist of Christmas service at the Cathedral on Christmas Eve was very special). Good pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. I would recommend 35 Bryn Road to anyone, especially families with kids, loved all the games provided. Thank-you
