About The Old Dairy

The Old Dairy is a beautifully converted stone barn, one of a range of renovated farm buildings set down an unmade drive near the imposing old manor house.

Deceptively spacious, yet still with the feel of a cosy cottage, it has been finished to a high standard throughout, yet retaining all its original charm with exposed beams and a mix of contemporary furnishings with lovely soft furnishings from the local Tregwynt Woollen Mill.

Step into the useful utility room which leads via one step down to the wonderful cottage style bespoke kitchen with Rayburn; well-equipped it is perfect for preparing family meals. An arch leads through to the dining room with a patio door to the enclosed, sun-trapped garden. Enjoy relaxing in the sitting room with its wood burning stove, ensuring a cosy atmosphere. A twin bedroom with en suite opens straight off the sitting room, while 2 separate sets of stairs lead from the sitting room to 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom one side and a further master bedroom with separate shower room on the other, conveniently giving 2 families ample space, but still perfect for just a family of 4. All nestled in the eaves with some restricted headroom and characterful A-frame beams.

The enclosed rear garden is a perfect spot to relax on a summer’s evening and dine alfresco with a paved terrace, 3 steps lead up to a lawned area and further paved patio with picnic table.

Set in rolling countryside, marvel at the dark skies and stars at night, yet only a 10 minute drive from the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline. Join the Coastal Path only an hour’s walk away to really explore its hidden bays and beaches, including the picturesque coves of Abercastle and Abermawr, still used by local fishermen today; or Aberferlin, below the village of Trefin and Porthgain with its recommended pub, The Sloop Inn, bistro restaurant and art galleries, are only 6 miles away. The nearest village is Mathry with its popular pub and the Siop Fach tea rooms and Collectables. The bustling harbour town of Fishguard with its range of shops, pubs and restaurants is within easy reach, while the tiny city of St Davids is well worth a visit with excellent facilities, Cathedral and Bishops Palace ruins, as well as one of the best beaches in the world, Whitesands Bay, less than a 20 minutes' drive. Wander the picturesque harbour village of Solva, with its bustling quay, cafes, pubs, galleries and Woollen Mill only 7 miles away.

The Old Dairy is a wonderful ‘home from home’ which holidaymakers cannot fail to enjoy and perfectly positioned to enjoy all that Pembrokeshire has to offer.

I have just returned home from a wonderful week staying in The Old Dairy. The whole experience was a delight! The cottage is beautiful, well equipped and has clearly been furnished with love, good taste and attention to detail. My siblings and I had a great day visiting Haverfordwest Rugby Club to watch them play St Davids. We also walked some of the coastal path, visited the local farm shop, roamed around Solva, St Davids and Fishguard. I now know why all the Coastal Cottages personnel I have spoken to sound like they are always smiling!

We've had a lovely holiday in your wonderful cottage. The weather has been great, warm and sunny with us spending our time on some glorious beaches nearby, swimming and surfing and even cycling the Preseli Hills. We've loved the space and facilities the cottage provides, including the pizza oven and BBQ. We hope to be back and enjoy another family holiday together.
