About Aberfforest House

Aberfforest House is a traditional 200 year old detached farmhouse, set just 150 yards from the sea in one of Pembrokeshire’s most unspoilt coves from which it takes its name, Aberfforest. Renovated throughout (in 2015) yet retaining original features, step into the large well-equipped kitchen/diner, ideal for preparing family meals with its large, range cooker and farmhouse table. There are two sitting rooms, one with a retained Inglenook and wood burning stove and a further cosy snug where children can relax. Two staircases lead to the spacious bedrooms, two offer super views over the beach and out to sea and a fixed wooden step ladder leads to a final galleried attic bedroom nestling in the eaves. The enclosed, rear garden with paved terrace has views to the sea and is perfect to enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening.

Only yards from the sand and shingle beach, this sheltered cove is ideal for swimming and kayaking and is a favourite haunt of seals and dolphins. Deciduous ancient woodlands run down tiny valleys to the sea's edge and birdwatchers and naturalists delight in the abundance of wildlife. The bay, which can only be approached by the general public over a long footpath, is almost private and has launching facilities available by prior arrangement.

Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and enjoy walks along the coast to Newport with its golden sandy beach on the mouth of the Nevern river with its shops, pubs and restaurants or east to Cwm yr Eglwys, Pwllgwaelod and Dinas Head. The villages of Newport and Dinas with their facilities are both within 2 miles, a pleasant walk in good weather.

A wonderful holiday awaits you at Aberfforest House, perfect for family and friends to enjoy quality time together.

The following 6 properties are approximately 150 yards from the beach: Part of a group of six farm buildings including Seahorse Cottage (12050), Crab Cottage (10885), Seal Cottage (13257), Hen Ty Llaeth (12750) and Barnacle Cottage (13498).

This is by far one of the best properties we have ever stayed in, it is large but retains many original features and is very cosy a home away from home. The location down a farm track makes it quiet and secluded. (apart from a small number of people walking on the coast path) There are about 8 other properties nearby but no one overlooks another. The house itself is spacious and equipped to a high standard with views out to sea. The kitchen everything you could need. The garden is lovely and enclosed so is safe for children and dogs. It is a short walk down to a lovely sandy beach which is safe for swimming at high tide. You have direct access to the coast path. There is also a lovely glad with a waterfall nearby. Parking is just at the front of the house. There are plenty of dog friendly cafe and pubs nearby and also a good choice of shops at Dians Cross and Newport.

This is truly a magical place to holiday, this is our 3rd year and our second in Aberfforest house with our grandsons together we have created so many happy memories together we love the alterations that have been done, whilst still keeping the character and feel of the original house. It has been really useful having the wifi and the guys have really enjoyed the snug, and docking station and the attic bedroom. We have enjoyed walking the Coastal path and discovered a circular walk from the beach via Cwn yr Eglwys (where you can get on ice-cream)It takes about 1¾hrs, The route can be found on or Google Dinas circular walk, We hired Kayaks from St Davids ( explored the coast across to Newport and around Dinas head. We also had a lovely meal at the sloop at Portgain, Abereidy beach is good for a bit of body boarding. Finally a truly fantastic place and a fabulous holiday, hopefully we can be quick and book again for next year!!!! thank you for the wine and lovely fresh flowers.
