About Barn Cottage

Barn Cottage is a wonderful, detached, stone cottage set in the village of Marloes dating back to 1795, renovated throughout with is beautiful exposed purple stonework, it retains its original charm and character with a contemporary twist. The owner has thoughtfully furnished it from sustainable sources using products with provenance and upcycling wherever possible to give a unique and charming appeal. 

This simple welcoming holiday cottage has two sitting rooms, both with wood burning stoves to ensure a cosy feel and plenty of space to relax.  Two steps lead up to the ground floor bathroom with its lovely vintage roll-top bath, while the delightful kitchen has a unique rustic feel with hand crafted units and solid wood worktops, yet contains all modern conveniences. Double doors open to a rear flagged terrace, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an alfresco meal, two steps lead up to the lawned garden, all enclosed.

Stairs take you to the white-washed bedrooms above nestling in the eaves with exposed beams. Conveniently located, there is pub and shop in Marloes both within walking distance, while there are a choice of beautiful sandy beaches less than a mile away including Marloes Sands and Musselwick. Children will enjoy the village play park.

 Take advantage and leave your car behind and use the ‘Puffin Shuttle’ which stops in the village to join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and explore the stunning coastline and wonderful beaches. No holiday would be complete without a boat trip to the island of Skomer to see the puffins or the other islands of Gateholm and Skokholm, the embarkation point at Martins Haven is less than 2 miles away. Dale, the neighbouring village is popular with sailors and water sport enthusiasts with its sheltered water, there is a hire shop, waterside pub, The Griffin, voted the best seafood establishment in Wales, as well as The Moorings restaurant and cafe for you to try.

 A delightful holiday cottage perfect for enjoying all that the Dale peninsula has to offer whatever the season.

Approached from leaving Haverfordwest along a B-road, after about 6 miles there is a turn onto a narrow country lane. The cottage has a 5 bar double gate to the left of the house and space for one car to park. Additional vehicles will have to use the surrounding area, but please do not park directly outside the front of the house. Main entrance door reached by two 8” high steps. Alternative entrance through 1 metre wide patio doors reached by a 10" step from the patio area to the rear of the property. Garden extends to the rear of the cottage mainly lawned with slight incline. Level paved areas with patio furniture. Ground floor facilities include a sitting room, kitchen and dining room, 2 steps to bathroom/whb/wc. There are 2 steps to utility room. Additional airing cupboard with washing machine and oil boiler. There are stairs to the bedrooms on the first floor nestling in the eaves with exposed beams. Kitchen has a work top and small breakfast fold out table for two. Conventional oven grill and hob. Well-lit sitting room, natural and artificial lighting. TV with teletext operated by remote control. External lighting system to front of property that can be activated from inside the house. Public Transport, local bus service, approximately 400 metres to sheltered bus stop.
