A delightful, semi detached, original stone barn, simply but well converted to provide excellent accommodation in a unique setting within this cluster of cottages.
Crab Cottage has been renovated throughout to a high standard with oil fired central heating and woodburning stove making it really cosy. Retaining the original A frame beams and velux windows in the roof, along with crisp white walls gives the accommodation a light and airy feel. The double bedroom provides a romantic retreat, while the open plan living space with comfortable sofa and chairs has steep open tread stairs leading up to two cosy bedrooms set in the eaves, one of which is galleried and curtained.
A sunny south-facing patio fronts Crab Cottage which is entered through a stable door; an ideal spot to enjoy an alfresco meal.
Aberfforest is a very special bay on this beautiful coastline, pitted with tiny sandy coves and a favourite haunt of seals and dolphins. Deciduous ancient woodlands run down tiny valleys to the seas edge and birdwatchers and naturalists delight in the abundance of wildlife. The bay, which can only be approached by the general public over a long footpath, is almost private and has launching facilities available by prior arrangement. The small, sandy beach is perfect for swimming or kayaking and you may sometimes be joined by a seal. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs past Aberfforest; follow this for fantastic scenic walks to Newport beach and Dinas Head. The villages of Dinas and Newport with their shops, pubs and restaurants are under 2 miles, a pleasant walk in good weather.
The following properties are approximately 150 yards from the beach:
Part of a group of six farm buildings including Seahorse Cottage (12050), Hen Ty Llaeth (12750) and Barnacle Cottage (13498).

Crab Cottage is a real gem. It's in the most peaceful, beautiful surroundings right next to a stunning little beach. The cottage was so welcoming and warm when we arrived, all the beds were extremely comfortable with fluffy white towels to use. The kitchen was well equipped and was fantastic for our Christmas lunch. I would highly recommend this peaceful getaway, where you can step right out into nature and breathe in the freshest air.
Another lovely stay here - our third! We enjoy the quiet and sunshine and beach, and also the walks from our doorstep. We've visited old haunts and a few new ones this time. A lovely cottage with many memories for us. Thank you!
Thank you for such a beautiful home for the week! Our highlights were the moody woodland walk and waterfall, the beach and coastal walk to Cwm Yr Eglwys & Aber Rhigian, paddle boarding on our loaned SUP and the ancient woodland at Ty Canol. We come to Pembrokeshire every October and usually stay in Little Haven - we loved finding a new place to love! Will love to come back.
Thank you for the most relaxing stay for me, my husband and our greyhound. The cottage is very chilled and comfortable. Our friends love it too!
Cosy seaside cottage, easy to find access from a concrete roadway from the main road. Crab Cottage is part of a small hamlet just above Aberfforest bay and on the Coastal path. Comfortable and cosy and very well equipped for our stay with our dog. Very comfortable bed, nice linen and fluffy towels provided. Welcome items much appreciated after the journey. Pets catered for with doggie bags, towels, and bowls very thoughtful and kind.
A beautiful setting for a wonderful holiday. We loved our stay at Crab Cottage – we will be back!
A wonderful couple of days in Crab Cottage. We enjoyed fabulous weather and the children loved the beach being so close. The cottage is very comfortable and perfect for the family to unwind – we look forward to returning again soon.
As always, the cottage cosy and welcoming. We had an excellent trip to Porthgain and a delicious lunch in The Shed. Swimming with a seal on Cwm-Yr-Eglwys and lots of fun on the beach.
We’ve loved our stay at Crab Cottage – it’s been a beautiful, quiet retreat; to walk through the woods to the stunning cove, to swim, play and have adventures. Owls in the trees at night and gorgeous terns in the sky in the day. Crab Cottage so close to a sacred waterfall is incredible too. MAGICAL. Much rested and very happy with our stay.
We have had a wonderful two weeks down here at the magical Aberfforest. Highlights include: a boat trip around Ramsey Island from St. Davids, seeing seals, porpoises, buzzards and guillemots, some fantastic swimming at Aberfforest Beach, Cwm-Yr-Eglwys and Pwllgwaelod, long walks to Carn Ingli above Newport and on the Preseli Hills. Ideal activities for small children include crabbing at Parrog, getting faces painted at Castell Henllys (Iron Age Fort) and the Ocean Lab in Fishguard. Thank you for an unforgettable fortnight at this amazing and magical place.
Crab Cottage (love the name by the way) was so cosy and really felt like home! It was so welcoming and as soon as I walked through the door I instantly fell in love with this place! Thank you to everyone that made this place as lovely as it is now! I loved it!! :)
What a wonderful find! Such a cosy cottage with lovely homely touches! We loved exploring the forest and its waterfall, swimming and BBQing on the beach. Great walks round Dinas Head and the Preseli Hills. Fab Monday market in Newport. A day trip to St David’s (The Meadow Café great) and boat trip to Ramsey was brilliant and we saw lots of grey seals. St. Davids Cathedral a must too. So much to do! We will be back! Thank you very much!
A fantastic week in a comfortable cottage. We have had sun every day. The sea, calm as a mill pond. We know the area quite well but we still discovered some new bits and were able to tick off a bit more of the coast path. Newport market on a Monday is worth a visit. Lunch at The Old Sailor’s pub at Pwllgwaelod was worth the walk. Thank you!
A lovely week in a lovely cottage! Spent most of our time here and down at the beach, no need to go anywhere else! The beach, the waterfall, the clifftop walks – perfect. Thank you!
We have had another fantastic week at Crab Cottage. We’ve had beautiful weather all week and the cottage has been VERY comfortable. We’ve enjoyed cliff walks, trip to Porthgain and our children love the climbing wall in Pwnc café! We are looking forward to coming back in the summer.

We've had an amazing week in Aberfforest. The cottage is perfect, this is our 3rd time staying in Aberfforest and we will definitely be coming back. Our dog Toast takes any opportunity to run down to the beach and we have all enjoyed walks along the coast. Thank-you for a lovely week
Lovely cottage, very pleasant stay, beautiful position. Kayaked lots and saw seals and a dolphin!

We had a lovely week. Enjoyed body boarding and playing on the beaches here and at our favourite place - Marloes Sands! We even managed to teach our retriever to swim. We drove over to Rosebush in the Preseli Hills and enjoyed a great family meal at Tafarn Sinc. We really enjoyed getting to know this area of Pembrokeshire better.
a wonderful week at Crab Cottage. we had a busy week in fact and wished we could have stayed longer. Crab catching at the Parrog, a visit to Melyn Tregwynt Mill, The Nevern Village Show, the Cwm Yr Eglwys regatta...we need another week! It was also great to have a TV to snuggle up and watch the Olympics on! Thank you, we will be back!
A lovely, relaxing few days in Crab Cottage. the cottage had everything that we needed and the fire was so cosy and warm. We had delicious lunches at The Golden Lion and enjoyed lovely sunny walks in the Preseli hills.
Loved the area- wonderful, especially Poppit sands- healing and peaceful.
A fantastic week. Although the weather was mixed it was lovely to come back to the cottage and put the heaters on. Never cook on holiday but with all the facilities we’ve had quite a few meals in the lovely kitchen. (That says a lot!). The cottage is very cosy. We have gone for walks to the cove every night. Ozzie the dog has loved it, even swam in the sea. Thank you Mike and Sandie for a great holiday. We want to come back next year.
We have had a lovely week, swimming every day and going on walks. The weather was a bit rough but it was nice to use the fire, even if it was the middle of August! Thank you!
Thanks for a wonderful week! Cosy cottage. The beach and waterfall is a paradise and the location could not be better! The children loved picking stones and seashells and all of us enjoyed the beautiful tours along the coasts. We even spotted dolphins and a seal! We would love to come back!
Only one wet day, so very lucky. Lovely quiet spot. A little haven for birds
A wonderful week with our family of eleven in three cottages. All enjoyed the week, from 4 years to 65 years old we all found something to enjoy. The beach and the waterfall, the woods, the birds, just wonderful. I’m sure we’ll be back.
Lovely sun trap, relaxing holiday, great walks, a very special place, many thanks.
Fabulous location, coastal walks, great cosy cottage- real dog heaven! Had a lovely week. Thanks.
Go onto the cliffs and watch the dolphins play or relax on the beach for the rest of the day. Yet again another fab holiday.
Thank you Mike and Sandie, had another lovely year. It felt like coming home, plus we went in the sea every day despite the weather! Excellent as ever. See you all next year.
A lovely tranquil place, with many hidden features like the waterfall. Great food everywhere we went.
The weather this week has been wonderful which has made the week even better than usual. It’s our ( I think?!) ninth time and each year it gets better. Thank you.
Absolutely splendid location and cottage.
Perfect holiday location, ideal for our four year old to explore the beach and woods. Spent most days down on the beach enjoying the peacefulness, wildlife and looking out for dolphins. We all had a really lovely holiday- we’ll be back next year!
A lovely place- we loved rock pooling and plopping stones. Shaun was inspired to buy a fishing rod but I caught the only fish in a rock pool!
Perfect holiday location- for all ages! The big boys and girls went on wonderful kayak expeditions, the middle boy loved body boarding, coasteering and turning into a beach bum and the littlest boy loved sand castles and throwing pebbles I the sea! We all marvelled at the scenery and wildlife and enjoyed the comfort and tranquillity of the cottage. Thank you!
Seen dolphins seals eels and porposes. Bin body bording, waves good bay good for climbing. Hills are excellent for cycling. Wille is very sweet.
What a truly wonderful place. I could sit outside in the sun listening to bird song and the waterfall in the background for ever…Many thanks for sharing this precious part of the planet.
