About Craig y Don

Craig y Don is a semi-detached, Victorian house, set right on the beach front in the unspoilt seaside village of Llansteffan, the glorious sandy beach and sea are less than 60 yards away just across the car park. With the newly added wood fired eco hot tub, you are guaranteed a relaxing break, what better way to soak away the stresses and strains under the stars listening to the captivating crackle of wood and the gentle lapping of waves on the beach.

Renovated and comfortably furnished, this deceptively spacious house makes an ideal holiday home, step into the dual-aspect sitting room with log burner and plenty of comfortable seating and views to the sea. The long, fitted, kitchen/diner has French doors opening to the rear, enclosed, paved patio area; the perfect spot to enjoy an alfresco meal or spend evenings in the wood fired hot tub socialising with family and friends on a summer's night. Children will love spending time in the playground, just yards from your back gate. Alternatively, sit and relax at the front of the house, watch the world go by at a slower pace and soak up the view towards the beach.

Stairs lead up to the bedrooms above spread over two floors, all making welcoming retreats. One double and the bunk room both offer super views over the beach and out to sea, while stairs lead up to the twin room nestling in the eaves, so mind your head, the fabulous sea views from the veluxes here are worth it though.

There are a choice of pubs and a village shop and cafe which holds wonderful themed nights all within walking distance, as well as excellent fish and chips from Florries in the kiosk across the car park, just yards from your door. Spend your days on the beach and in the sea, alternatively, take to the Wales Coastal Path to truly appreciate this super coastline on foot. The 12th Century Norman Castle ruins on the headland are worth exploring. The village of Llansteffan itself remains unchanged and has a tranquil atmosphere all of its own, nestling between the banks of the Towy estuary and the lush green hills of the Welsh countryside, footpaths abound and is perfect for keen walkers or those who are looking to get away from it all.

There is an 8 acre woodland complete with falls, a stream and lake all in a very pretty setting, approximately 3 miles from Craig y Don. A perfect spot for a picnic or barbecue on a sunny day.

The historical market town of Carmarthen with its excellent range of shops, pubs and facilities is only 8 miles away. There is plenty to do and something for everyone all within a short drive, a visit to the National Botanical Gardens is a must, take in Pembrey Country Park with its 550 acres of beach and woodland to explore, or for the energetic try out the dry ski slope, toboggan run and Pembrey Motor circuit. Pendine is nearby, its fabulous long sandy beach being the location for Malcolm Campbell's Blue Bird land speed record. A visit to Laugharne, the birth place of Dylan Thomas should not be missed.

An ideal holiday home for families and friends to enjoy a break at the seaside, whatever the time of year.
