Craig yr Haul is a wonderful coastal cottage that faces south with spectacular views towards the expanse of Whitesands Beach below. Comfortably furnished with retained features and slate floors; the light fitted kitchen/diner is well-equipped for preparing family meals, while the lounge with its wood burning stove has French doors to really maximise the views. The romantic double bedroom upstairs opens to a wonderful balcony, the view is simply stunning over the coast and out to sea. There is a further paved terrace, enclosed sunken lawn and children are welcome to play in the fields; or above the cottage is a raised gravel patio and picnic bench looking straight out to sea where you can dine alfresco, this has to have the best sea view of all. We can think of no better location for a family holiday at any time of year, the views are spectacular.
Whitesands Beach popular with surfing enthusiasts and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is only a short walk away. Enjoy a round of golf on the course with one of the most stunning backdrops, a boat trip from Whitesands or the nearby St Justinians around Ramsey Island is a must of any holiday. The tiny city of St Davids with its Bishops Palace and Cathedral, as well as excellent facilities is only a short drive away.
Neighbouring Foxhole, book the 2 together for family and friends to get together. The only question is will one week be enough?
Next to 21011 Foxhole Cottage and next door to 23689 Ty Gwyn Farmhouse.

Thank you so much for another super weekend, can't feel my fingers from all of the waves we have been catching! We will be back!
Thank you so much for the lovely stay! Such a beautiful location and surprisingly warm water for Wales!
Wow! What an amazing weekend! Such a wonderful place to spend a rare break by the Welsh seaside. Thank you so much!
4th time here in 2 years - idyllic spot overlooking our favourite beach, wish we'd come years ago. Weather was very wild at times but it doesn't matter when you can relax in such a lovely house. We will be back in 2020.
Fantastic weather for another visit to Craig yr Haul - 3 generations enjoyed football on the beach, body boarding, walks, and a brilliant RHIB boat trip around Ramsey Island. Lovely walks with plenty of seals. Great to be back now the children can take themselves to the beach! Thanks for having us.
Thank you for a lovely stay. Location is wonderful and cottage is very cosy. Variable weather but did manage a couple of body boarding sessions but full wet suits are a must! Highly recommend The Meadows Cafe in St Davids and The Sloop at Porthgain. Also recommend Yoga classes at the St Davids wellbeing centre. Thank you .
Another wonderful holiday in this welcoming house. We love the beautiful beach and the dramatic coast, plus all the unspoiled natural world. Something new this year for families is the escape room at Tretio, much enjoyed by our 12-15 year olds. Many thanks.
This is our 61st anniversary of coming to St Davids and another enjoyable stay in Craig yr Haul. Not always great weather, but some how that doesn't matter here! We still had our walk on that incomparable beach each day and our young family love this place just as much as we do! We'll be back.
We had a wonderful stay. The weather was fabulous and the company even better! What a glorious location with stunning scenery. We are looking to returning for the Easter break in 2020! Thank you so much.
A wonderful restoring week in this charming cottage – perfect for our family gathering and walking the coastal paths. We will meet here again!
This is our second visit. Had a great time. We did our son’s 2nd birthday part BBQ here. The weather was great. We will be back again.
We brought our 15-year-old son and five of his friends with us this year. Entertaining six teenage boys for a week is a challenge, but not here! Within walking distance of the sea, they had the freedom to come and go as they pleased, and apart from one visit to the Blue Lagoon, they had everything they needed right on their doorstep. Thank you for making our lives easy!
Another very happy three-generation holiday here. This is a very welcoming house in a superb location. We’ve made the most of the wonderful beach, and many coast path walks from the door. We all love this place!
I loved this cottage. The waves were huge. We did lots of walks and had lots of fun. We played many games of hide-and-seek. This was our second visit to Craig yr Haul, and if possible, it was even more lovely than last year! Couldn’t fault our stay. Lovely weather, lovely beaches, all round lovely stay!
Have been coming to this area for the past 50 years and this was by far the best location. Lovely comfortable cottage with spectacular views. By the way, kitchen scissors would be useful.
Stunning views from a beautiful cottage. We've had a lovely time returning to a place that is dear to our hearts.
We have lost track of how many years we have been coming to Whitesands Bay but for nearly 20 years we have never tired of the three houses here! Thanks for keeping them a lovely place to come.. I Think we had the best weather in the British Isles this week and enjoyed seal watching, sea swimming, rock pooling as well as lots of digging on the beach. We are still yet to find any treasure - Maybe next year. Thanks again
Year 8 of our Summer Stays here. Fantastic weather until Tuesday night before the rain came but it doesn't matter when you are in a wet suit and in the sea. Best surf later in the week see it all again next year.
Thank you for an extremely happy week of beach, coast path and indoor games - ages 8 -7. Lots of seals & Porpoises on a round Ramsey Trip. Excellent exhibition on evolution at the Tourist Centre! The kitchen is very smart. Favourite week of the year!
Our 18th year of coming to Whitesands! Always a wonderful break whatever the weather. The house is always improving each year, many thanks for the continued investment and contribution to our enjoyment. Looking forward to our next visit.
After many years of camping in the area we have thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of this cottage. It has been a brilliant week - lucky with the weather too - & lots of walks & photography! Definitely be back, we loved the cottage and its view and facilities. The Balcony is ace!
A great time was had by all at Craig Yr Haul. The children loved going to the beach especially here at Whitesands in the afternoon when the ride went out. Also enjoyed going to Broad Haven & Little Haven. Solva is a must when staying here, crabing in the morning is great for the kids, and walking through the harbour in the afternoon when the ride is out is amazing. Mackerel fishing is a great way to spend the afternoon off St Davids, lovely eating, fresh fish in the evening that we had caught. The Blue Lagoon at Bluestone (Haverfordwest) is great on a wet day the kids enjoyed this a lot. Hope to come back someday to explore more of this amazing coastline.
Our first stay in Craig Yr Haul after two visits to Ty Gwyn, Just as enjoyable thank you, helped by lovely weather. We weren't able to have our usual Sloop Meal at Porthan because it was too busy, but the Thursday night Quiz at the farmers arms St David's was a good substitute. also the takeaway menu from the beach café here was very good we hope to be back.
We have had a fantastic week here and the weather has been wall to wall sunshine all week hope to come next year. We thoroughly recommend the Sloop inn in Port gain for dinner we ate outside several times this week and the boys were kept very happy playing football on the football patch next to the patio, where we could keep an eye on the them from our table. White sands to St Justine's along the Coastal path a nice and easy walk 0.3miles went to St David's airfield for our 3 year old to practise his cycling - perfect for beginner's St David's Deli inside St David's food and wine make great take away sandwhiches.
Lovely to be back to St David's and White sands,a wonderful week of sunshine and only one wet day. The house is very equipped, the only thing I missed was a clock hoping to return again.
The weather was very kind to us with just one day of cloud cover. We went on a puffin trip around Skomer from Martins Haven and bought fresh crab from Solva. A relaxed and enjoyable few days and the good news is that we will be back again if John can arrange the same weather, lovely House!!beautiful views.
A glorious week, all sunny days with flat calm seas and mild breezes, wonderful. the house suited us well and we spent lovely days on the beach in the rock pools, and building sand castles. ice cream from the car park shop on whitesands, much appreciated. St David's lovely as well, Sloop inn continues to be a delight and riding at Nolton a lovely event, try coasteering from St David's a great day out.
have had a great week, despite mixed weather. Thanks!
Thanks again for another great week-fantastic weather at the end of the week, which made for a perfect few days.
Great to be back. Much appreciated improvement in decor. We've been blessed by the weather, and have had idyllic bucket-and-spade-and-fishing-nets-time, and swimming.Thank you.
A great week of family fun. the house is ideally located for days on the beach, trips to St Davids, and picturesque walks. Thank you for a lovely house and lovely holiday.
We have had such a super week in this lovely house. Super views, swimming and coast walking. Thank you so much.
It was good to be back for another year in this nice house with good views! awesome coastal walks, surfing, body boarding, swimming, lazy days on the beach, endless games of cards, beach cricket.. Hope to back soon!
Sixth year staying here at whitesands. I have never surfed a six foot wave in a kayak when there is no wind, and lots of sea! The kids loved it! and wife doesn't want to go home. We will be back again (and again). roll on summer 2013! furthest we went was St Davids- why would you want to go elsewhere? Walked on the beach when not surfing, and the tide was out. it was an adventure!
Thank you for a lovely stay. Cottage very homely and warm. fantastic views of the beach and surrounding countryside; lovely walks; Quiet... Don't want to go home!
We have had a wonderful week, with ony one day of rain. This is a lovely cottage in a splendid place for all ages.
Cracking week! unique environment, wonderful beaches and cliff walks. Easy to occupy five grandchildren!
Thanks for a superb cottage, very warm, spacious and well equipped. Hope to visit again.
Craig-yr-Haul was, as usual, comfortable, convenient and well equipped.
Yet again, another week that has passed all too quickly.
We had a wonderful time here. Weather has been lovely and we had a whale of a time on the beach. We will be back - it's been brilliant.
