About Glengeordie Cottage

Glengeordie Cottage is a delightful holiday home a conversion of a steam engine house, adjoining the owner’s house. The first 3-wheeled Robey Steam Roller was once housed here but has now moved to the Robey Trust.

You are assured a warm welcome from the owners at this well-equipped and charmingly furnished cottage with a fitted kitchen, shower room and dining room on the ground floor, while stairs lead up to the characterful eaves sitting room on the first floor furnished with comfy leather sofa and arm chairs, the alcoves and gas fire ensure a cosy feel and are perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the County.

The double bedroom leading off this also nestles in the eaves. Guests are welcome to use the large, enclosed lawned garden shared with the owner, prettily planted, it has plenty to amuse the children, while the paved patio is an ideal spot to relax and dine alfresco, cooking dinner on the barbecue and enjoying a glass of wine, or if you want to leave the cooking to others, a 5 minute downhill walk takes you to The Jolly Sailor pub serving good food located on the riverside with children’s play area or alternatively The Beggars Reach hotel with restaurant is a short drive away. It is approximately a half a mile downhill walk to the Cleddau where at one of its widest stretches launching facilities and boat trips are available. Here you can enjoy crabbing off the floating pontoon. A short drive will take you to secret hideaways on the banks of the Cleddau, home to a variety of wildlife including heron and kingfishers.

Glengeordie Cottage is only 20-25 minutes drive from a number of beautiful beaches, bays and historic castles as the Cleddau Bridge links the north and south of the County.
