Greystones House is a charming, grade II listed, end of terrace house, built from the same stone as the Cathedral set right in the heart of the tiny City of St Davids. Renovated throughout, it has been beautifully furnished in an eclectic mix of carefully sourced antique and contemporary pieces, yet retaining many original features and character with practical, wood floors and local artwork on the walls; the cosy sitting room with wood burning stove makes a delightful retreat, while the second lounge gives space for children to watch TV and play games. The split-level fitted kitchen/diner with large, farmhouse table is perfect for family meals. A useful boot room/utility area leads out to the enclosed, rear garden with a sheltered, paved terrace to enjoy a barbecue on a summer’s evening, steps lead up to a lawn with mature trees. The bedrooms above make a welcoming retreat.
Perfectly situated with all the shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries of this tiny city on your doorstep, enjoy a visit to the Cathedral and Bishops Palace with its walled close of 18 acres and the venue for music festivals, art and craft exhibitions, as well as open air theatre. The nearest beach, Caerfai, is less than a mile away, while there is a choice of 3 others nearby. Whitesands is only a short drive away and is renowned for surfing and popular with beginners and professionals alike. A boat trip round or calling at Ramsey Island from St. Justinians should not be missed, the bird and wildlife will amaze, especially the seal pups in September.

The house is approached from Haverfordwest via an A-road to St Davids. The house is accessed directly from the main road in front of the house in the centre of St Davids. As there is no parking bay in front of the house, luggage can only be dropped off and then the car will have to be driven to Merrivale or Quickwell Hill public car parks. There is quite a steep step up from the main road onto the front path of the property, 18cms high, with a gap of 78 cms through the front wall of the garden where the path runs. There is a side entrance to the house, but this consists of a steep, grassy slope leading up to a concrete path that takes you round the side of the house where it then is all one level. The side gate that you have to come through to the back of the property is 80cm wide. The front door has a step of 15cms leading up to it. There is a garden to the rear of the property on a higher level above the patio and can be accessed via 9 steps with a metal hand rail to the left of the steps. Garden then all one level, but at a slight incline. There is a drop of one metre 70cms from the garden to the patio below. Will be marking this off with a small rope fence to draw attention to the drop and to mark it more visibly. Ground floor facilities include split level kitchen/diner, two lounges and a hallway. There are two levels on the ground floor. The kitchen has a 13cm step up from the dining room. The lounge at the back of the house also has a step up to it from the hallway, 13cms. To make up for the smaller window in the kitchen, there is a lot of artificial light from underneath the wall units, lights from the ceiling and also lights from the kitchen panels just above the floor. The lounges are well-lit with natural and artificial light and there is a large window looking onto the garden that is above the first landing on the stairs, so that the stairs to the first floor are well-lit. The tiles in the kitchen are a similar beige colour to the lino in the dining room, so that they blend in and make the step harder to see. TV with freesat and remote control for TV and for DVD player. External lighting to the back of the property that is activated by movement and lights up the property. Stairs lead up to three bedrooms on the first floor with a bathroom with a shower in the bath, wc/whb and then on the same landing with a separate door to enter in, a shower room with wc/whb, but this washroom has a step up to it , 12 cms. Guide Dogs welcome.
A wonderful week in a special house, Thank you! The weather was very kind and we enjoyed walking along the coastal paths everyday breathing in the clear fresh air, bliss! We would recommend The Mill in St Davids for a great breakfast, although you would need to book as it gets really busy, even in November! Hope to return to Greystones early in 2025!
Amazing weather this week meant we got to walk the coast a lot. Our first stay in St Davids so we made the most of it. Highlights were Grain pizza, Losh's pasties, and scotch eggs from the butcher. The Really Wild Emporium tasting menu was was interesting and delicious and well worth it for a treat. We love the house, we're coming back for Christmas!

Wonderful, albeit too short a break in a breathtaking part of Wales. Lovely cottage in a great location. Sun shone, wind blew, everyone had a great time (including the dogs!).
