Hen Ty Llaeth, bordered by a wooded valley and stream, is set above the beautiful unspoilt cove of Aberfforest and has direct access to the beach and Pembrokeshire Coastal Path via a 50 yard footpath.
This well-appointed detached house is finished to a high standard and enjoys uninterrupted sea views from most rooms with the second lounge on the first floor and its gable end window providing the perfect spot to relax and watch for the occasional visiting seal! The conservatory leads to an enclosed, raised patio ideal for an alfresco meal, on calm balmy days admire the wonderful sea views or from the comfort of the lounge watch the crashing dramatic spring and autumn tides with its far reaching views. A half acre paddock with a picnic bench gives you an ideal family retreat only a stone’s throw from the sea.
Enjoy the sun, secluded beach, coastal path walks and wildlife - truly a holiday home for all seasons.
Some restricted head room on first floor.
Aberfforest is a very special bay on this beautiful coastline, blessed with tiny sandy coves and a favourite haunt of seals and dolphins. Deciduous ancient woodlands run down tiny valleys to the seas edge and birdwatchers and naturalists delight in the abundance of wildlife. The bay, which can only be approached by the general public over a long footpath, is almost private and has launching facilities available by prior arrangement. The small, sandy beach is perfect for swimming or kayaking and you may sometimes be joined by a seal. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs past Aberfforest; follow this for fantastic scenic walks to Newport beach and Dinas Head. The villages of Dinas and Newport with their shops, pubs and restaurants are under 2 miles away, a pleasant walk in good weather. The following properties are approximately 150 yards from the beach:
Part of a group of six farm buildings including Seal Cottage (13257), Seahorse Cottage (12050), Crab Cottage (10885), Aberfforest House (13316) and Barnacle Cottage (13498).

Approached from an A-road, then along half a mile of concreted farm track, unlit, sloping down with 2 sharp bends to a gravel driveway. Hen Ty Llaeth is situated with sloping grounds. The car park is above the house with a sloping pathway and 6 steps down to the front door. As this is part of the garden there is no handrail alongside the steps. There is parking for 3 cars. Once down the steps from the raised parking area, there is a short flat path to the entrance. This path can be lit by outside lights which can be turned on from inside the house. There is a step up into the porch and a further threshold step into the house. Outside there is a wide and level patio area which is fenced and gated and accessed by either a narrow path that skirts around the house, or through a patio door from the conservatory. There is a low step down as you walk out of the conservatory to the patio. There is patio furniture on the patio. Inside, on the ground floor there is the kitchen and lounge/dining room, double room and a twin room. The downstairs bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, washbasin and wc. Kitchen has a low level oven and ample workspace. The sitting room and lounge downstairs are well-lit. There is a narrow staircase to the upper floor which divides left and right at the top, with a few more steps upwards. There are some low sloping ceiling areas upstairs. Access from the house to the beach is via a sloping and unmade drive. Access to our paddock is also by a sloping unmade path. The paddock is sloping.
We’ve had a brilliant 3 weeks here at this beautiful house and bay. Every type of weather and sea, a fascinating part of West Wales. We’ve been visiting West Wales for over 20 years and this has to be the best part of this coast. Lots of birds (45 species so far), 1 seal pup, 2 porpoises and 4 adult seals. A bonus was the dark sky and so many stars!
We have had a brilliant 3 weeks here at this beautiful house and bay. Every type of weather and sea, a fascinating part of west Wales. We've been visiting west Wales for over 20 years and this has to be the best part of this coast. Lots of birds (45 species so far), 1 seal pup, 2 porpoises and 4 adult seals! also, a lovely fox in the paddock! A bonus was the dark sky with so many stars last night, it made the long journey worth while. We hope to be back again before too long.
amazing views and we went on some nice walks and even saw dolphins! I would recommend the waterfall. also, would recommend 'The Shack' in Fishguard for ice-cream and a Jacket potato.
Lovely to be back here. Ideal position and beautiful views
We've really enjoyed our week in your lovely, well equipped house with tremendous views, and is ideally situated to make the most of the excellent weather that we were lucky to have.
Lovely cottage, amazing views, exceptional location. Very relaxing week. Some wonderful sunsets!
A family holiday well spent paddle boarding, bird watching, stargazing and enjoying long overdue family time. We found this home to have extraordinary views all around. Thank you!
Had a lovely week, lovely cottage very clean. Amazing views will be coming again
Wonderful break, cottage is beautiful, clean and warm. Views amazing. We are so blessed
Stunning view! Beautiful and tranquil cottage
Many thanks to let us use your cottage Hen Ty Llaeth. We really enjoyed our stay, lovely location, lovely cottages. Love to come again next year.
Lovely cottage, what a wonderful find. Love the views.
Lovely cottage- great views for walking, painting and drawing!
4th Visit- we love this place! It's like paradise here! Beautiful space- something for everyone. Thank you so much.
What can we say that hasn't been said before. EVERYTHING we could wish for and more. A plate of seafood from 'Something fishy' on Parrog, sitting in the conservatory with a bottle of wine then being "swallowed" by the comfy sofas...bliss. Thank you so much!
Brilliant week. Third time visiting. Love it! Something for everyone. Walks, views, kayaking, swimming. Lovely to spend time together somewhere so relaxing and beautiful. Highlight for some: jungle shower in the waterfall. Will definitely come again!
Traeth Llyfn has been our favourite beach for the last 20 years and never disappoints nits a magical place to be at sunset when everyone else has gone home. This year there’s a pair of peregrines nesting in the cliffs. Never Valley is a good woodland walk. Trewern Arms excellent. We had a 1 hour trip around Ramsey Island. Great fun and worth the trip. Next time I would like to go to Skomer to see the puffins! So much to do and the cottage is perfect. I’d love to some back because this place is wonderful! Thanks.
Porpoises with their young, seals including pup, oyster catchers, curlews, guillemots, razorbills, stonechats, linnets, choughs, pied wagtails, sand martins, kestrel, rock doves plus the usual suspects of rabbits, robins, sparrows, jackdaws etc. Nice places to visit: Llangarrog, Cwn-yr-Eglwys, Mwnt, Cardigan Bay, Strumble Head and of course, the waterfall by the cottage and of course, Dinas Head. Fish ‘n’ chips at Llangarrog (The Beach Hut) was very good. A peaceful, restful and wonderful week – thanks again!
Bliss to return to this hallowed spot for a much needed restorative few days. Strangely we were the last to visit in March 2020 as the first lockdown began, and during this stay the Government have now announced the end of coronavirus restrictions. Places like Hen Ty Llaeth are such precious sanctuaries for us all. Thank you again so much for this lovely house and gardens – its all just wonderful!!
We are sad to be leaving. What a view! What a welcoming home! Cannot wait to return. Dolphins sawn with us! Seal caught a fish only 20 M from us – spectacular!
After an extended journey here, we woke up in the morning to be awed by the view! We went kayaking in this bay and saw several jellyfish and a seal (from about 2 metres away!) We were also apparently spied by a dolphin….Watched the fog roll over the water on the last day which was very dramatic!

A fantastic stay in a stunning house. We've stayed at other cottages at Aberfforest and Cwm Yr Eglys but none so well equipped and spacious. Kayaking every day bar one. No seals or porpoises this time but beautiful nonetheless and the weather held for a fire and marshmallows on the beach! Thanks you. We'll be back
Just beautiful, our second visit here and just as wonderful as the last.
Seal sightings in the bay, dolphins passed by the top of the bay - saw once. Lovely views as always, Thanks.
A lovely home from home in very peaceful surroundings, and with an outstanding view from most windows. It's a shame we only booked for 8 days! Lovely and clean, Thank you
Fab place! The two grannies loved the views from upstairs. Kids loved the beach and waterfall. Saw lots of dolphins and just one seal. Would love to return. Will recommend to others.
Simply wonderful! The location is just fabulous and nearby beaches wonderful (Newport etc. ) It has been so difficult to leave!
Thanks for sharing your lovely cottage. It was very clean and tidy. The view, beach and tranquillity were idyllic. Cottage was very comfortable and well-equipped. We had a lovely time exploring the area.
The view and proximity to the beach here are gems for a family holiday - we loved kayaking from St David's and have been venturing around the local bays - loads of fun! Hen Ty Llaeth has provided us with a warm abode whilst we get to know this beautiful area of Wales. Waterfall is truly magical!!
Comfortable cottage with choice of sitting room. We loved using the aga. What a treat! Spectacular coast and beautiful waterfall. No need to drive around looking for "outings". Very enjoyable boat trip around Ramsey Island. Saw one of the first seal pups of the season. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
Thank you once again for a brilliant week. Swimming every day! We'll be back.
Wonderful restful time. Waking up each day to this fantastic view was great. Loved the beach - swam everyday. Made it for a shower in the waterfall! Beautiful place - felt so "at home". All returning home refreshed - thank you.
We passed below Hen Ty Llaeth some years ago when walking the coastal path and stood looking up, marvelling at the location. Such peace and quiet and remoteness, a piece of paradise. Never imagined we would be staying here in this luxury winter short break years later. Will definitely be back here soon for another short break.
Very much enjoyed our stay. Had sunny days and starry nights. Cottage has all you need and more. "EXCELLENT".
A wonderful break - walks all 3 days here. Didn't move the car. Bonus of good weather and we saw otters!
A week here just isn't long enough!
Had a fantastic holiday. Weather great, cottage excellent. Beach and bay a dream.
Fantastic location, accommodation and weather. We have enjoyed every second of our holiday here, so peaceful. Hope to be back next year.
We had a wonderful stay, relaxing and a picture postcard. Holly the dog gives it a paws up. Would recommend to family and friends.
Oh how sad we are to have to leave. Another wonderful holiday in paradise. We will be back next year. Wonderful cottage, breathtaking views!
Our third visit and it just gets better and better!!
A lovely relaxing week. You can never tire of the view from this lovely cottage.

Certainly has "a Room with a View" and Tranquility
Beautiful setting, kids loved beach and stream. Great walks. Peaceful relaxing holiday.
Fantastic holiday, perfect setting and cottage was brilliant we all loved it and want to come back next year. Thank you.
It is amazing to be back at Aberfforest after 40 years to the farm that I visited 1959-1967. What a treat to bring my children and grand children on their first visit to such a special place - feels like home. We hope to return like your swallows.
Exceeded expectations (which were high anyway) Lovely views; and saw some dolphins. Thanks.
Relaxing week in a perfect setting. A doggies paradise too.
We have stayed in many cottages but this has got to be one of the best. Beautiful views. Thank you for a great week. Hope to return next October.
Thanks for a great cottage. Clean, warm and well equipped.
Fantastic cottage, views and location. Magnificently equipped and great for seal watching and walking.
Relaxation and chill out were the requirement and that's what we got the moment we walked in!!. Terrific cottage for spotting birds - watch for Heron, Gannets and Cormorants. Aga cooking was an absolute bonus - Hope to comeback one day! Just the spot to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
