About Lower Folly

Lower Folly is a spacious detached stone farmhouse perfect for 8. Renovated throughout to a high standard, it enjoys the most envious position down a country lane, it has stunning views out over St Brides Bay and is only a 10 minute walk to the beach at Nolton Haven and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

Steps lead down and into a spacious L-shaped open-plan living area, a really light and airy space with large windows on two sides to make the most of the breathtaking views. The modern fitted kitchen is well-equipped with comfortable seating and a dining table for all to sit round, the double-sided wood burning stove ensures a cosy feel on chillier evenings, while the bi-fold doors open the space up to the paved split-level terrace for alfresco dining. The spacious sitting room is more traditional in style with retained exposed stone walls and beams, as well as sea views. There is a twin bedroom and bathroom off this, while stairs lead up to 3 further bedrooms on the first floor, all with sea views, the 2 doubles with their Hypnos beds and ensuite shower rooms offer contemporary luxury in warm muted blues and greys reflecting the surrounding landscape.

The paved terrace with its sea views has steps down to a lawned area, there is plenty of space for children to play. Enjoy summer evenings round the shared sunken fire pit soaking up the sweeping sea views. At night the dark skies are amazing, unpolluted by light, marvel at the stars and planets overhead.

There is a pub in Nolton Haven and The Haven Brasserie serving good food, overlooking the beach, within walking distance. Spend your days on the beach or take to the Coastal Path to explore this wonderful coastline. There are a range of stunning beaches nearby that are ideal for families and popular with surfers and watersport enthusiasts both beginners and professional alike including Newgale and Broad Haven both with excellent pubs and village shops where you can enjoy a meal or a drink after your day on the beach.

Enjoy a meal at the Druidston Hotel overlooking the picturesque cove and beach below. Conveniently situated, the pretty market town of Haverfordwest with its range of facilities is only a short drive or why not visit the tiny city of St Davids with its historical Cathedral and Bishops Palace, as well as a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, the picturesque harbour village of Solva is also worth a stop.

A wonderful holiday home with stunning views for families and friends to enjoy.

A wonderful week walking the coastal path, the flowers accompanied our route and were magnificent, nature was in it's full spring colours! The house was very comfortable, the field of cows and sheep with their young provided us with entertainment whilst the sea at Nolton Haven gave us that chance to experience true freshness. Thank you so much for sharing your property, we had such a wonderful time.

We have spent new year at Lower Folly and absolutely loved it! We found the place feeling like a home away and would return at any time. The views are spectacular and the house is warm and well equipped and of course beautiful. We spent most of our evenings by the fireplace enjoying a glass of wine! We would recommend visiting the nearby villages as they are picturesque. We would come back at any time without hesitation, thanks so much!!

Thank you for a wonderful stay at your lovely house. We've enjoyed everything about it - especially the views. We were able to take our Puffin mad son to Skomer and to explore the local beaches and restaurants. It was the perfect spot for a holiday with the grandparents. We will take lots of happy memories back to California with us, and hope to return some day! Wonderful house, wonderful location - perfect! Lots of great family memories made. Thank you

We've had an amazing (too short) stay at Lower Folly. Loved the cottage and fantastic views. It made a great base for our trip to Skomer to see the puffins. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to walk but would definitely love to come back to explore the area on foot.

The Skilton & Lickorish Family

This beautiful property provided us with a relaxing haven at the end of each busy day. We absolutely love it here and will definitely return and hopefully to spend more time in the garden.

Lovely cottage in a great location with fantastic views down to the sea. Really well refurbished with all amenities and very comfortable and warm. 10 Min walk to the local beach and a great coastal walk to Druidston (The hotel there is well worth a visit). St Davids, Marloes and the blue lagoon all nearby and plenty of beaches and walks. Our kids loved it, as did we. Highly recommended.

This is a beautifully appointed and comfortable property in an amazing location. Everything has been completed to a exacting standard with every appliance you could want for. The views are quite exceptional and we made good use of the outdoor table to sit and have meals-fortunately record fine weather over the Easter period.

Phillip C

Fantastic property in a quiet location (apart from bleeting of lambs and moos of cows!) with stunning views across farmland and sea. Great garden with lots of interesting nooks and crannies. Look out for the hidden figure head!

This was such a good find! Sleeps 8 very comfortably with spacious, well lit living areas. The kitchen is very well equipped, plenty of seating in living room, lots of games provided, lovely comfy beds, good showers and wifi. The amazing views can be enjoyed from all over the house and garden. Its perfectly located for walks, beaches and local villages/towns with good restaurants, pubs and shops. We used the cottage as a base for out trip to Skomer, approx 35 mins away and exploring the area. Would have loved to have stayed longer and would definitely recommend.

Matt, Carina, ed, and Evie

We have had a perfect weekend in lower folly, playing board games, eating copious amounts of fantastic food. and laughing our heads off. We explored St Davids and Narberth, having dinner at the Cwtch , a favourite of ours . Tried out the meadow farm cafe in St Davids , when it started hailing , definitely renowned for cosy hot chocolate made with real chocolate. We had a lovely walk to the Druidston and then cooked a roast diner in the amazing kitchen ( what a view! ) The house was just perfect for us , a great place to entertain and have friends and family to stay and also cosy little retreat for long days spent by the roaring log fire. Off to Narberth now before we head back home, We will be back again soon though!
