This October, the popular ghost story of The Woman In Black comes to the Torch Theatre in a great spine-chilling stage play. Arthur Kipps is invited to tell a ghost story and so recalls his past experiences encountering the "woman in black". According to the legends, she haunts Eel Marsh House and every time she is seen, a child dies. What will be the outcome of the ghost story?The play is recommended for those aged 14 and over. Booking in advance is recommended, tickets start at £8.
The West Wales Wool Show in Narberth is a celebration of all things woolly. From beautifully hand crafted items, clothing and footwear to knitting wool, fleece and all the equipment needed to make at home. Demonstrations run throughout the day with stall holders sharing their skills and knowledge with visitors plus wool skill workshops such as felting. The main aim of the show is to support local wool producers and small craft businesses. Wool as a renewable resource is still undervalued and the show aims to bring this wonderful natural resource back into focus. The show is run by the Pembrokeshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers with support from PLANED. The 2016 show will be kindly sponsored by Emily’s Funky Knits in conjunction with Amroth Bay Holidays and by Esgair Fibres.
Held in St Brides Orchard next to St Brides Bay and the ancient church of St Bridget, St Brides. A fantastic event and opportunity to glimpse inside the courtyard of the original Kensington Castle (dating circa 1500's), to see apple pressing using the orchard's apples and ancient craft skills such as basket/willow weaving and wood carving. Teas, coffees, cakes and jars of homemade jams and chutneys for purchase in our 'Apple Cafe' with all money raised in support of St Brides and Marloes churches. Fishguard once again welcomes you to it's Annual New Year's Eve Street Party! With celebrations, live music and fireworks - it really is a fantastic party to celebrate the coming of the New Year! A perfect way to bring in the new year, Victoria Hall in Roch is hosting their annual New Years celebrations with a bonfire and fireworks. The event starts from 5pm onwards with the lighting of the bonfire, and refreshments are available in the hall throughout the evening. Admission to be paid upon entry.
A firm favourite with our regular visitors, Picton Castle's Easter Egg Trail for children is a self-guided scamper through fabulous woodlands as they burst into bloom. Collect your leaflet at the Ticket Office and follow the trail – you will find clues along the way! When you have finished, pop into the Gift Shop to collect your prize. It's a great way for the whole family to enjoy the woodlands as masses of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Magnolias come into flower. While the kids rush around in search of clues, the ‘grown-ups' can enjoy the magnificent colours and scents. After the walk, what better reward than a nice warming cup of hot chocolate with cream and a homemade cake in the Courtyard Restaurant, or perhaps make it a lunchtime visit and enjoy the Spanish dish of the day with a glass of wine or beer! The St Davids Cathedral Festival takes place across ten days with a range of classical and contemporary musical performances taking place in the beautiful setting of St Davids Cathedral. With two different distances available, you can either enter the Middle Distance Ocean Lava event which is made up of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run; or the Wales Triathlon Sprint Distance which is made up of a 750m swim, a 13 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Whether you're an athlete or a spectator, supporters line the streets creating an amazing atmosphere and energy which definitely makes this event a must-see!
