Ol-y-Don, is a fantastic, tasteful cottage renovation only 50 yards from the Estuary tucked away on a no through road in the popular seaside village of Newport. The open plan kitchen/diner with granite worktops and wooden floorboards is just the start, the sitting room beckons with a large, curved sofa and a real woodburner. The unusual lighthouse style slate-stepped spiral staircase leads to 3 lovely bedrooms (one twin is accessed through the other) with a spacious master bedroom with a brass bed and views over the lawn. There is a timber decked covered veranda and a large slated patio for enjoying the sun into the evening. The large lawn and pony paddock beyond are for guests use and the 1.5 acre grounds are surrounded by hedges and tall trees for privacy. The village pubs, tennis courts, shops and restaurants are only a stroll up the hill and the water in the other direction - a fabulous place to stay all year round.

The street market in Newport runs from the beginning of April to the end of December. The market is open on Mondays, weather permitting, from Its aim is to promote and sell local produce and products and it presents an opportunity to buy fresh produce and locally reared meats.
Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Eglwyswrw a tourist attraction at the foot of the Preseli Mountains. They are known internationally for breeding a shire horse called Major Mercury (aka Dyfed Celt) one of the household cavalry drum horses. There is plenty for the whole family to do, whatever the weather. Daily Timetable of activities including, Harnessing demonstrations, during which we will dress the horse in a working set of harness and explain the function and history of the harness, Horse and cart rides (Summer Holidays Only) Tractor ride around the working farm, Animal Feeding and Donkey Grooming. They also have an Indoor soft play area & Outdoor adventure area - Crazy Golf, Sand Shed and Skittles. Nature Trail with woodlands and hedgerows to explore and stunning views of the Preseli Mountains to enjoy.

Head to Fishguard's Town Hall every Saturday morning for the popular Farmer's Market where you'll have a chance to sample and buy a range of local produce such as eggs, cheeses, breads, jams and chutneys.

Tucked away in the heart of Pembrokeshire is a peace and tranquil restaurant. As well as us letting their 14 self-catering cottages the la carte restaurant is open to residents and non-residents alike for lunches, Sunday carvery, evening bar or restaurant meals. They also serve afternoon teas. The restaurant offers a frequently changing menu that is designed & prepared using the finest local produce. Selecting their meat from local butchers, cheese lovingly produced by Pant Mawr in Rosebush and locally grown seasonal vegetables. you will be sure to true taste and reflection of West Wales!
This is an annual event which takes places right in the centre of the town of Cardigan on the last Saturday in April. The main attraction is the parade which goes through the town, made up of local horses followed by vintage vehicles such as tractors, cars and motorcycles. Head along in the morning to see the horses being judged.
Wales' only acapella festival, the Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival, returns in 2018 for it's tenth anniversary. Between 4th and the 6th May, Narberth will be hosting a weekend full of performances and workshops celebrating all things a cappella. The Preseli Beast is an off-road racing event, still a relatively new event. Approximately 24 miles off road, this race takes in a route through wooded valleys, trails and paths taking in scenery across the Gwaun Valley and Newport Bay. Opt for a smaller race with the Beast Bach, an 11 mile off-road race, or rise to the challenge of the Ultrabeast - a 32 mile off-road race! The start and finish are in Maenclochog, with the Ultrabeast kicking off first.
The Fishguard Folk Festival, always guaranteed to be a fun weekend! With a number of concerts, performances, workshops and events taking place at various locations throughout Fishguard, there's plenty to choose from!
This very popular annual event is back once again! With classic vehicles of all varieties, there's something here for car lovers, tractor lovers, military vehicle buffs and those mad for motorcycles! There will be children's entertainment, craft stalls and refreshments available.
With two different distances available, you can either enter the Middle Distance event which is made up of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run; or the Sprint Distance which is made up of a 750m swim, a 13 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Whether you're an athlete or a spectator, supporters line the streets creating an amazing atmosphere and energy which definitely makes this event a must-see!
With a packed weekend of music, literature, sport and food, Solva's Edge Festival makes the most of the local produce and events, and is a great weekend for all the family. The weekend hosts a Battle of the Bands, an open-water swim and a football tournament, plus there is a Beer and Cider festival throughout the weekend. There will also be a variety of stalls, literature talks, raffles and live music. There really is plenty going on this weekend! Pembrokeshire's County Show returns for another year! This annual event brings thousands of people to the Haverfordwest Showground each year. With a variety of crafts and stalls, there is also displays, exhibitions and performances to see! There is a whole host of agricultural machinery on display as well as livestock to see, a fair, and a number of horse and dog shows. Of course there is also plenty of opportunities to meet and greet with local businesses, as well as sampling some great local produce on offer in the food hall!
Cardigan River and Food Festival is an annual event which strives to showcase the fantastic local produce available in Wales with demonstrations, entertainment and activities. Of course - there will be ample opportunities to see and taste some of that local produce on offer!
Every August Bank Holiday, the harbour-town of Fishguard devotes its energy towards a fun-filled Aberjazz Music Festival. With a variety of performers at a number of locations throughout the weekend, this festival celebrates both jazz and blues music.
Fishguard once again welcomes you to it's Annual New Year's Eve Street Party! With celebrations, live music and fireworks - it really is a fantastic party to celebrate the coming of the New Year! Refreshments are available on the street and in the surrounding pubs and restaurants. This event is free entry, donations are appreciated as any money given is then put towards next year's celebrations.
A perfect way to bring in the new year, Victoria Hall in Roch is hosting their annual New Years celebrations with a bonfire and fireworks. The event starts from 5pm onwards with the lighting of the bonfire, and refreshments are available in the hall throughout the evening. Admission to be paid upon entry.

Once again thank you for a lovely week, mixed weather but ok.Had a day at Picton Castle and gardens , fantastic the best gardens we have ever been to and dog friendly too. Scolton Manor has a nice woodland walk. Once again the curry at the Royal Oak are lovely. Booked a lovely massage up the road across from tourist information centre, Hope to be back soon

We all had a lovely time in Ol Y Don one of the best ever! The weather was absolutely brilliant for us. Its just the little things that make Ol Y Don home for us. Grace (the dog) loved it here because it is totally dog friendly, she went out for a run everyday in the pony paddock! We all love the aga,and are now considering having one at home! We will be back !!!
What a pleasure to come here to a beautiful well looked after property with all the home comforts people expect. We have been renting cottages in Newport for over 22 years . This one I really wanted (in my dreams) I have passed this cottage for many years, I can not emphasise enough the sheer delight of this cottage, I believe this is the best cottage in Newport by far. We are so excited about this place we are coming back in June and September can not wait! P.S first time down here in the snow it was great the place looked Magical !
A wonderful christmas week in beautiful Ol Y Don with all the joys of Parrog beach, dunes, headlands and a particularly stunning Boxing Day on the Preselis in frosty and glorious sunny views looking their best. North Pembrokeshire the very best of both worlds and coming back to Ol Y Don at the end of the day has been the icing on the cake!
Sensational Cottage! Gergeous walks along the Coast Path. Fantastic lamb from the butcher, friendly people, wild horses and foals on the coast path, plenty of seal action...Perfect!
What a wonderful cottage, clean, peaceful and everything you need and so much to do on your doorstep. Weather was fantastic and we enjoyed our last break together before 'our first child' joins us in a month. Thank you for the house it made everything - perfect! We will be back with the little one before the year is out.

Beautiful cottage and ideal location for walking. A great base to go out for the day and warm and cosy when you get back. Honey thoroughly enjoyed walking to the beach and swimming in the sea when she got there! Strongly recommend The Sloop Inn at Porthgain for lunch. We've had a lovely week here. House and location both beautiful. Theo loved making sand castles in the rain. The people here are so friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend the curries at the Royal Oak. Pwllgwaelod was great for rock pools and caves - nice restaurant there too. Thank you!

What a wonderful place to stay, the cottage was everything we wanted, the weather was perfect, the people friendly and wildlife outstanding. Who'd have thought we would have seen an otter on our first day here, let alone another the next day and within feet of us. We shall go away with happy memories of our stay in Newport and look forward to returning in 2009.
Well we were back, as promised with our new edition, our little girl born in May! Had Had to take her here for her 1st holiday. Weather was great only 2 rainy days. As usual the house was perfect! Did not get to do diff walks at Abereiddy, but good excuse to come back again !! Many thanks !

Ol Y Don was delightful! We have had a wonderful week. Home from home comforts, lovely walks and generally relaxing. We shall hopefully return to Ol Y Don again. Had a wonderful time loved the proximity to the estuary and the beach. Children loved the garden. A real lovely home to stay in.
