About Penberi View

Penberi View is a spacious detached house set on a quiet cul de sac in the small village of Whitchurch, only a few minutes’ drive from Solva and its picturesque harbour.

While newly built, it has a traditional look with characterful features combined with contemporary high quality finishes. Furnished in natural tones with soft furnishings from the local woollen mill, the large sitting room with its wood burning stove ensures a relaxing atmosphere.  In the bright and spacious sun room, running along the back of the house, you can enjoy a family meal or just relax on the comfortable seating and admire the wonderful panoramic views, over the garden and fields beyond to Carn Llidi and Penberi in the distance.

The sun room opens to the fabulous fitted kitchen, designed along traditional lines, it has all mod cons, vaulted ceiling and breakfast bar. French doors from the sun room open to the large, enclosed lawned garden, giving plenty of space for children to play or enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening, the sunsets are wonderful from here. Alternatively catch the sun on the paved terrace to the front of the house for morning coffee. All the bedrooms are well proportioned and beautifully furnished, the master is an absolute delight with bifold doors to the garden and a quality ensuite walk in shower. Two further bedrooms, one ensuite and family bathroom complete the ground floor, while stairs lead up to a galleried area nestling in the eaves with twin beds and a further space with comfortable seating for children and adults  to relax or watch TV.

Conveniently located, this rural area abounds with footpaths, yet the pretty fishing village of  Solva is less than one mile away, split in to upper and lower Solva, it has a range of shops, pubs and galleries to wander, as well as a picturesque harbour. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path here to really appreciate the stunning, rugged coastline of St Brides Bay. The Woollen Mill at Middle Mill is well worth a visit, set in a green valley on the banks of a stream. The long sandy beach at Newgale, popular with families and surfers alike is within a short drive, enjoy refreshments at its beachside pub or cafe after a day on the beach or visit Whitesands, officially one of the best beaches in the world. The tiny city of St Davids with its majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace is only 3 miles away and offers a choice of recommended pubs, cafes, restaurants and galleries. Book a boat trip from here to visit the island of Ramsey; departing from St Justinians in September, this is an especially wonderful time to see the seal pups.

Penberi View is a fabulous holiday home, the perfect getaway whatever the time of year for friends or families.

Approached from the A487 then approximately 1 mile of narrow country lanes. The property is accessed by a wide open driveway, leading onto a gravel driveway with ample parking for 3 cars. The garden is composed of a level open area to the front, containing a small lawn, a patio area, and driveway. There are pathways around the entire property with 1 step being present to the right side. At the rear of the property there is a large paved patio area with seating, and a level lawn extends around the sides. The rear and side gardens to the detached property are enclosed and gated. Public transport (bus route to St Davids/Haverfordwest) is located approx. 0.9 miles away from the property.

The Blythe's

This has been our first week away since 2019 and has been just what we needed. The house is wonderful, warm and comfortable, just what you want to go back to after a long day walking and investigating Pembrokeshire. We thoroughly enjoyed living in this beautiful house for a week and thank you for the wine and chocolate biscuits.

Neil Ross

Beautiful holiday home where pretty well everything has been thought of and provided by the owners. Warm, inviting and homely with a pleasant welcome pack. Ideally placed for exploring the locality.

Hill & Kat-Thomas family

Our 2nd stay at this property. Everything you need was at hand. Porth Clais was a real treat this year along with Newgale beach. We’ve been coming to Pembrokeshire for over 40 years now and having a nice house to stay in has made it special, so thank you.

The 'McCann' & 'Harcourt-Heath' families

Beautiful cottage with great facilities. Weather was fabulous and we enjoyed walks at Fishguard, Abereiddy (The Blue Lagoon is well worth seeing), Whitesands Bay and Tenby. St. Davids was a good trip out. Café 35, Window on Wales and The Woollen Mill were great places in Solva. The coastline is both beautiful and, in many places, spectacular.

Debbie & Neil

What a beautiful, warm home you have created with exceptional fittings and décor. We have stayed in many cottages in Pembrokeshire over the years but this has to be the best! We hope to return. We have had a great week. We did manage to fir in one walk from St Justinians to Whitesands Beach. Stunning scenery, well worth the effort and bumped into a seal pup in the small cove before you arrive at Whitesands – simply lovely.

The Mansells

Another lovely stay in this beautiful area. Our third stay in Penberi View – and as before the house has been comfortable and a perfect base for our stay.

Rachel & Steve

We’ve had a perfect week relaxing. Can we live here please?

Clough & Dacre Family

The week has flown by for us, we’ve enjoyed swimming and kayaking off our favourite beach – Nolton Haven, hired paddle boards at Broad Haven and discovered new beaches just past St. Davids! The house is perfect and a joy to come back to after a full day of adventures! Diolch Yn Fawr Pembrokeshire

The Evans Family

Ideal for our 3 families with grandkids, excellent facilities, spacious, top place to stay for us. Feel well at home. Boat trips, fishing and nature bird watch. Walked most days. Walked up Carn Lidi twice, spectacular views. Well looked after by Coastal Cottages during 3 weeks stay. Thanking you and will be back again to St. Davids.

Beautifully designed and well equipped house, perfect for a relaxing break with our family from Australia and young grandson. The house was warm and very comfortable. Our grandson (15 months) loved the cows over the hedge who paid us frequent visits. Thank you!

Sarah, Ged & Isabel (5yrs)

We have had such an amazing week at Penberi View! We fell in love with the house and the views the minute we walked through the door and really don’t want to go home! Had a great day at Folly Farm, definitely recommend for children. Had such a lovely, relaxing week and just wish Pembrokeshire was not so far from home!

The Field Family

What a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We slept very well in the comfy beds and were able to walk in some of our favourite haunts, even sitting outside for lunch on Friday! Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

The Brooks & Dethridge families

Great house with beautiful views which served as the perfect base for us to explore Pembrokeshire. Whitesands and Newgale are beautiful beaches. Thank you for a great stay.

The Mansell Family

We had a lovely week in this well designed and fitted holiday home. Everything was perfect for a relaxing stay. Watching the skies with the swallows darting about and later the bats for entertainment.

Ellis & Rolling's family

Our first stay in Solva and what a beautiful house to stay in! Stylish, comfortable and immaculate, a fabulous family property, we loved it. Ideal location to explore the area and the neighbours have been so welcoming. The children have loved the garden and the independence of the upstairs room. Whitesands beach is very accessible for all ages. We have had a fabulous week and will be sure to return.

The Hill's & Kent - Thomas's

What an amazing well equipped cottage! We've been really lucky with the weather this half term, everyday dry. Had some amazing walks, Bosherston, Broad Haven South, Barafundle Bay, Caldey Island etc. Thank you again for this most enjoyable stay.

The Field Family

What a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We arrived in Storm Callum, but the rest of the week has almost been rain free! We slept very well in the comfy beds and were then able to walk to some of our favourite haunts, even sitting outside for lunch on Friday. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay!

The Mansells

Our second stay this year - just as lovely as our first stay. Thank you!

The Borg Family

Our family have had a really great week here in this lovely house. The views are amazing, especially with the cows grazing just over our garden wall. Ramsey Island was a highlight this week, and also Solva is an attractive village. Thank you!

The Ingrams

We are leaving after a most enjoyable week in this very comfortable and well equipped house. There are many things to be enjoyed in Pembrokeshire in possible future visits. The Bishop's Palace in St David's was a particular hit. Beaches were amazing - especially Marloes. We enjoyed Porthgain - buying a lunch, several ice creams and a painting.

Anonymous

Lovely time had by all, would recommend visiting Whitesands beach for body boarding and Solva Harbour for Kayaking – at high tide. Porthgain is worth a visit for fish and chips from the Shed and a drink at the Sloop! On a rainy day the St Davids escape room is a good choice for all the family. TYF Coasteering an adventure. Pottery and the mill are within walking distance.

The Farquhars + The Robinsons

Had a fantastic time! Lovely house in a lovely setting. Can highly recommend Whitesands, St Davids and Caerfai. Lovely walks and a great pint at the Bishops! Thank you for helping us make happy memories!

Berryman, Drew and Ashton Families.

The perfect house for a chilled, relaxing break. Extremely well-equipped, with lots of added extras not normally provided- i.e slow cooker. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the garden. Recommend the Rising Sun for dinner and Mamgu in Solva for their lovely Welsh cakes.

The Brown Family

Beautiful house and setting - perfect for our family combination. Plenty to do in the area. The weather was very kind to us too. We loved our stay and hope to co me back one day.

Thomas & Howells Family

We all had a wonderful stay. Beautiful place, home from home! Will definitely come again....Ideal location for walking the Pembrokeshire Coast.

Anne & Family

This is a superbly well-equipped cottage. It was perfect for 3 couples have a get together to walk the coastal path. We were lucky to have dry weather, if a little chilly in the evening for a BBQ. What a fabulous place to come back to after a day of walking. Recommend The Cambrian in Solva for pub meals (walking distance) or Cwtch in St Davids (taxi) for relaxed restaurant. Thank you so much - its always fantastic when a holiday cottage way exceeds your expectations.

The Ennis Family

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage, which has exceptional quality and feels like home from home. We enjoyed the wonderful entertaining space which is the kitchen and diner and the relaxation of the spacious lounge. It is in an ideal location for finding coastal walks, pub lunches and sightseeing. The views are fantastic and the neighbours very helpful and polite. We ventured to Folly Farm which we would definitely recommend for families as it has so much to see and do. St Davids is a lovely quaint town with good amenities if you should need them. The Asian takeaway/restaurant is recommended. Thank you for a resting stay. Perfect for families (especially small children)

The Hills

We have loved staying at Penberi View this week. So very comfortable with beautiful spaces to relax and enjoy family time. It is wonderfully situated in an ideal spot for many of our favourite places in Pembrokeshire and we now add to these the charming village of Solva. The weather has been super kind to us and we have fulfilled our aim to walk everyday as a family - clocking up an amazing 38 miles. This has allowed us to take in some breath taking views - coast and countryside, not to mentioned increasing our calorie intake accordingly with exceptional cake, ice cream, fish and chips along the way. With Thanks, The Hills.

The Roberts Family

This holiday home is a real home away from home. It is warm, comfortable and luxurious, and enjoyed the scenery and sunsets. We will return again!
