About Penmor

Penmor is a spacious bungalow situated on the edge of the historic town of Newport. It is located on a small quiet lane, 10 - 15 minutes’ walk to the centre of Newport and 5 mins to the local beach and coves where you can join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, a perfect place to start exploring this beautiful coastline.

Refurbished throughout in 2019 by the new owners to 4 star standards. The large picture window frames a magnificent view of Newport Bay. The wide tiled hallway leads to a light and spacious sitting/dining room, perfect to relax & enjoy family meals while taking in the glorious sea view of Newport Bay or step out the patio doors to dine alfresco. Alternatively, sink into one of the new sofas and relax as you gaze across the bay. The well-equipped kitchen leads to a sunroom/utility area and another access to the raised patio and enclosed garden.

There are two king sized bedrooms plus a twin bedroom, all with inviting white Egyptian cotton bed linen and sprung mattresses with memory foam toppers. Designed to provide a good night’s sleep after partaking in all the activities Newport and the surrounding area has to offer.

The newly refurbished bathroom has a full size bath and electric shower above plus there is a separate additional shower room with wc and basin.

The bustling town of Newport is an easy walk away with its range of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants and galleries to try. Leave your car behind and spend your days on the beautiful Newport Sands beach and where the river Nevern reaches the sea, the area teams in bird and wildlife.

Beautiful walks abound, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path takes you via a number of hidden beautiful coves including, Cwm yr Eglwys, Pwllgwaelod and Aberfforest and around Dinas Head. Catch the Poppit Rocket bus for the return journey. Alternatively, take to the mountain footpaths up Carn Ingli (mountain of angels) and onto the Preseli hills, the views are well worth it.

There is something for everyone. Community spirit is strong in Newport and many seasonal events are held centring on its maritime history so popular with water sport and sailing enthusiasts. Keen golfers are sure to enjoy Newport Golf Club, the sea views from the course and restaurant are stunning.

Penmor is an ideal holiday home perfect for families or couples, whatever the season.

Lovely to be here again, enjoyed the walks and the views. It's nice to see the continued improvements to Penmor. We would recommend the breakfast at the Cat Rock Cafe by the golf course! Thanks again- we have already booked to come back.

What a lovely cottage, with an amazing view down to the beach. Our dogs loved going on long walks and going down to the beaches. We went to a few pubs and restaurants, we would definitely recommend The Tides as they have really lovely food on offer. Thank you very much for our stay.

Lovely comfortable bungalow in great location, fabulous views over the bay. Fabulous views over the bay. Newport is great base for exploring North Pembrokeshire. Lovely walks close by, especially Newport Sands – the dogs loved it! St David’s is worth a visit also had great fish and chips in Castle inn and Blas at Fronlas is a great Café for Breakfast, Coffee, Lunch. Weather has been fantastic, just right for long walks. We have enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend Penmor.

As always, we have loved our annual stay at Penmor - it is like coming home. The refurbishment has been done very sensitively, not taking away its unique character. We'll be back next year. 12.06.19

We've enjoyed a lovely stay. Mixed weather but made the most of sunny moments on the beach. Wonderful walks in all different directions! Dinas Head very good for bird spotting and beautiful beach. Of course the most amazing views straight from the window and garden!

Geoff, Caryl, Blaise, Glory and the dogs

This place is amazing, Newport is a fantastic, thriving little town and within a short drive there is so much to do and see. Many places are dog friendly and within walking distance. The Golden Lion in Newport is one of our favourites for food. This is truly a magnificent place that should be kept as a closely guarded secret!

Louise and Dave Meaden

We've enjoyed a very relaxing week here. We have done a lot of walking from the house - the wildflowers are so pretty at this time of year. Also visited St Davids and every evening strolled down to the beach for the sunsets.

Malcolm, Jill, Sarah, Holly & Kaiden

We have had lovely holidays but this one was the BEST. It was so fun walking to the beach every morning. It was absolutely amazing staying in this lovely house, outstanding views out to sea. We all agree that this is one of the best holidays that we have ever had. P.S. you might be seeing us again. 13/04/19

We have been really happy with our stay at Penmor and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends. Facilities are excellent and your kitchen has more equipment than mine at home. The location is beautiful with a short stroll to the beach and facilities in Newport being ideal. 30/03/19

We have been regular visitors to Penmor and Newport for many years. We have loved coming here as we have always felt at home. The view is amazing and the bungalow lends itself particularly well if you have a dog with you. Have often thought that Penmor has needed some TLC and how lovely to see the change you have made since our last visit in December - the bathroom in particular but everywhere is lovely and tastefully re-furbished. Lots of nice little touches and thanks so much for the milk. We have had another lovely week, enjoying some fine weather and walks around the estuary. Look forward to coming back later in the year

Dara, Nick, Naomi and Jacob

Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful house that is matched only by the beauty of the surroundings. We have loved discovering the beautiful but wild landscape. Climbing Carn Ingli was the most wonderful, windy experience. The Kids were totally in their element on the expanse of Newport Sands....it really is a special place and we are determined to come back! The lovely house has been so comfortable to return to after a day of walking and adventures - warm, cosy and we have slept so soundly every night - total peace and solitude.
