About Penrhiw Priory

Penrhiw Priory is the epitome of peace and tranquillity, surrounded by 10 acres of grounds, this grade II listed Victorian vicarage built of Caerbwdi stone is just a short walk from the centre of the tiny City of St Davids.

Beautifully and painstakingly restored, many original features have been retained, these are complimented by contemporary furnishings with suede wallpaper, comfortable sofas and art work inspired by the nature of the surrounding countryside.

All the rooms are of generous proportions with high ceilings, large Victorian windows, wood panelling and a sweeping staircase. In the main house, take advantage of the well-equipped, fully fitted kitchen. Enjoy your meals in the drawing room and breakfast room overlooking the terrace and extensive grounds, or relax in the sitting room or study.

The 3 rosette Blas Restaurant at the sister hotel Twr y Felin, just 5 minutes away.

The 8 bedrooms are all ensuite with views either over the grounds with its mature trees, St Davids or the beautiful peninsula towards Carn Llidi. With 6 bedrooms in the main house, the spacious, Meadow Suite in the detached Coach House just 20 metres away with Court, nestling in the eaves above, offers additional privacy. The large sitting room can be separated from the sleeping area with sliding partitions and has French doors opening directly onto a sheltered terrace with lawns leading to the wild flower meadow, a perfect spot to enjoy a drink on a summer’s evening.

Enjoy Penrhiw Priory’s unique tranquil atmosphere, wander the 10 acres of grounds, with its large flagged terrace, steps lead down to a sloping lawn where you can sit and relax or explore the woodland and meadow walks. The Priory is part of the National Parks Naturally Connected Programme and provides information on the rare and prolific flora and fauna onsite, with a wildlife cam giving you added insight. Evenings at Penrhiw Priory are special with beautiful sunsets and the dark skies and stars above will amaze.

A short downhill walk will take you to St Davids with its wonderful Cathedral and Bishops Palace, as well as an excellent choice of pubs, restaurants, shops and galleries to explore. Whitesands beach, officially voted one of the top 20 beaches in the world, is a 20 minute walk away and is popular with surfers beginners and professionals alike. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, also within walking distance to marvel at this stunning coastline, a walk up Carn Llidi is worth the effort, the views over the National Park coastline and out to sea are breathtaking and the sunsets are beautiful. A boat trip from St Justinians to Ramsey Island is a must for bird and wildlife enthusiasts, particularly in September to see the seal pups. There are a host of wonderful coves and harbour villages to explore all within a few minutes’ drive including Porthgain, Abereiddy and Solva.
