Pembroke Castle's Ghost Finder General, Howard, will take you on a ghoulish ghost tour around the Castle, as he tells you a selection of our ghost sightings and happenings from 900 year history of sudden death and disaster. Please note: The tour will last about an hour and a half, and is for ages 7 and up, they do ask that the children stay close to their parents and grandparents at all times, as adults tend to scare easily! Tickets are £5 each and are available from the castle shop or can be booked online. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but please wear warm outdoor clothing and suitable footwear - our tower's staircases are a chilling place at night! A torch is essential as you can only see ghosts with the help of light!

Solva's Annual Fireworks Display is taking place on Saturday 5th November this year. A firm favourite amongst many, this event is a free event with donations encouraged. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm with the fireworks display starting at 7pm weather permitting. The event will go ahead on the 6th November if the weather prevents the event happening on the 5th. Refreshments will be available from the nearby cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Known to be a very challenging but beautiful course, the Ras Dewi Sant is a full and a half marathon running on Saturday 25th February. The full marathon runs point to point along the coastal path with an entry cost of £35 whereas the half marathon is a loop course with an entry cost of £25. All entry includes a T-shirt, Medal and refreshments including cawl, tea and coffee. There are also first aid stations and changing rooms available for all participants.
A firm favourite with our regular visitors, Picton Castle's Easter Egg Trail for children is a self-guided scamper through fabulous woodlands as they burst into bloom. Collect your leaflet at the Ticket Office and follow the trail – you will find clues along the way! When you have finished, pop into the Gift Shop to collect your prize. It's a great way for the whole family to enjoy the woodlands as masses of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Magnolias come into flower. While the kids rush around in search of clues, the ‘grown-ups' can enjoy the magnificent colours and scents. Two full days of kite flying in on Broad Haven’s ‘Blue Flag’ Beach. A 2 day event organised by Midlands Kite Fliers
Day three of the MKF ( Midlands Kite Fliers) Rendezvous with a day flying at Hilton Court Gardens and Crafts, Roch, Pembrokeshire with its stunning coastal views overlooking St Brides Bay.
The Man Up In The Mud run is a great mud run approximately 4.5 miles in distance. Following a great coastal route, the course promises to be boggy and muddy with obstacles to climb over and under!
The Preseli Beast is an off-road racing event, still a relatively new event as it is only in its fifth year now. Approximately 24 miles off road, this race takes in a route through wooded valleys, trails and paths taking in scenery across the Gwaun Valley and Newport Bay. Opt for a smaller race with the Beast Bach, an 11 mile off-road race, or rise to the challenge of the Ultrabeast - a 32 mile off-road race! The start and finish are in Maenclochog, with the Ultrabeast kicking off first at 9am.
The BANFF Mountain Film Festival makes a return to the Torch Theatre this year with another selection of incredible short films showcasing adventures from across the world. There's also the opportunity to win a number of free goodies in a prize draw! Tickets cost £13.50 or £12 for concessions.
Running from the event headquarters at Oriel Y Parc in St. David's, this event sees approximately 1500 cyclists take part in the sportive tour of Pembrokeshire. There are three distance routes covering much of North Pembrokeshire taking you through Fishguard, Newport and Cardigan depending on the distance you take part in. It's a great event for athletes and supporters alike!
The St Davids Cathedral Festival takes place across ten days with a range of classical and contemporary musical performances taking place in the beautiful setting of St Davids Cathedral. This event is a success year after year, and is definitely one not to be missed. Performers in the past have included the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, The Sixteen, Goodwick Brass Band. This ultra marathon is approximately 66.6 miles in distance, with approximately 40 miles of the course running along the coastal path with the remainder along the road. In 2016, only 6 people managed to complete and receive their finisher's medal so you can imagine the difficulty level of this challenge! The course runs through coastal locations such as Solva, Porthclais, St Justinians, Whitesands, Abereiddy and Abermawr, guaranteeing a really memorable course. Due to the nature of the course, cut off is at 20 hours with 5 check points and all participants will be required to bring along a full kit of the following items: Head Torch, Space Blanket, Whistle, Mobile Phone, Map (Supplied), Water, Energy Food, Hat, Gloves, Waterproof Clothing, Sun Cream. Entry costs £45 per person.
With two different distances available, you can either enter the Middle Distance Ocean Lava event which is made up of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run; or the Wales Triathlon Sprint Distance which is made up of a 750m swim, a 13 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Whether you're an athlete or a spectator, supporters line the streets creating an amazing atmosphere and energy which definitely makes this event a must-see!
With a packed weekend of music, literature, sport and food, Solva's Edge Festival makes the most of the local produce and events, and is a great weekend for all the family. The weekend hosts a Battle of the Bands, an open-water swim and a football tournament, plus there is a Beer and Cider festival throughout the weekend. There will also be a variety of stalls, literature talks, raffles and live music. There really is plenty going on this weekend! Pembrokeshire's County Show returns for another year! This annual event brings thousands of people to the Haverfordwest Showground each year. With a variety of crafts and stalls, there is also displays, exhibitions and performances to see! There is a whole host of agricultural machinery on show as well as livestock to see, and a number of horse shows. Of course there is also plenty of opportunities to meet and greet with local businesses, as well as sampling some great local produce on offer in the food hall!
Held in various locations across the seaside town of Fishguard, this festival occurs annual over the August Bank Holiday celebrating jazz and blues music.

We were very lucky with the weather stayed dry and mainly sunny all week. The cottage was very comfortable + in a lovely spot. All local pubs seem to be very dog friendly. We walked the Coastal path from St.Davids to Nolton Haven, all very beautiful.
Amazing Location, cliff top walks at sunset were superb, Cottage is very cosy. Wonderful beaches, Solva is lovely- try the Lavender cafe, also Pencomb Inn for home cooked pub grub. Thanks for a great week!

Have stayed in many cottages, this is the cleanest we have stayed in. We were blessed with good weather for our week, we walked the coastal path everyday. The dog loved the grounds around the cottage (and so did we) we dont want to leave.

We have had a glorious week with mostly glorious weather. Perfect Cottage in a perfect spot walking, sailing, cycling and swimming. A few jellyfish so watch out! Cambria great for evening meal. Harbour Inn our favourite for lunch. The walk down to to St David's is not to be missed.

On opening the door we were very surprised. What a wonderful place to spend a holiday. Its such a lovely cottage, with a very homely feel. The weather was perfect everyday-we enjoyed the change very much-and out everyday visiting the countryside and the bays including Skomer Island Highly recommended!
We have had a lovely week, mostly sun and windy but no rain so we were bale to enjoy the wonderful coastal path walks. The wild flowers everywhere particularly the bluebells were spectacular, and at the end of the day this comfortable cottage to come back to. Everything we needed was here even Wifi which was helpful as i had no phone signal (i know i am a sad person and needed to keep in touch for emergencies!) Thank you and hope to visit again!

The cottage is as lovely as I remember from my previous visit - well equipped, comfortable and quiet, a real "get away from it all" which is what I wanted. The weather has not been great, so it was delightful to be able to light a fire on chilly, wet evenings.

Returned visit to cottage proved as popular as the 1st! A fantastic time as ever, highlights were horse riding for the 1st time! We also had a hugely successful fishing trip out of Dale and a surfing lesson. Everything is close by and easy, whilst the location of the cottage provides a refuge from the madding crowd at the end of the day, bliss!

We can highly reccomend the coastal circular walk from Porthgain to Abereiddy. also a circular walk from Stackpole estate starting at the National Trust car park at Bosherston,. the kids enjoyed Blue Lagoon swimming centre and Pemberton chocolate farm great for a rainy day! Pembroke Castle is also worht taking a trip to see, dog came too! We only ate out twice - good value basic food at the Harbour Inn, Solva and fish and chip supper at The Shed in Porthgain - fabulous!
We returned to Rose cotttage after a 2 year gap wondering if it would be as good as the last time. It was even better than before. Cottage is great, weather great - what a wonderful place. See you again! Scones at Lavender Cafe is a must!
Lovely cottage, wonderful part of the world. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Dogs loved it here again. It is our 2nd visit, we stayed in Honeysuckle next year. Both cottages are lovely, brilliant cove just down the road, virtually had it all to ourselves! Best place for Ice Cream is St Davids, Giannis. Goos food in Grove and The Sloop in Porthgain.
Great holiday, good local beaches for fishing, surfing and dogs!
We all had a very nice holiday here, it is a beautiful little cottage. The coastal walk is lovely, even on a rainy day! We would reccomend the cream teas form the old Printing House in solva, they are exquisite! Also our favourite beach is Newgale, the weather was very kind to us this week, we will definately be coming back.
We have had a wonderful week during which we celebrated a very special birthday. the cottage is wonderful - cosy abd comfortable, the weather has been extremely kind to us. we will certainly consider coming here again. The dogs enjoyed all the walks and the scenery is superb.

Look no further than Solva fro arts and crafts, pubs and resturants. The walk out of Solva Harbour toward Newgale along the cliffs is excellent. For spectacular scenery take the coast road from Newgale, through Nolton to Little Haven (excellent pub fish and chips in Broad Haven). Lovely cottage.
Thankyou for a wonderful break in your beautiful cosy cottage. It has exceeded all our expectations. This is the most fantastic holiday we have had in Wales, offering a bit of everything for everyone. Thouroughly enjoyed the horse riding at Nolton Haven and boat trip around Ramsey Island.
