About Rose Cottage

The tiny hamlet of Lochvane, tucked away at the end of a no through road which contains only six cottages. This superb conversion of a typical 18th Century long barn has been renovated into 2 cottages - Rose Cottage and Honeysuckle Cottage - 32262, set in surprisingly mature gardens of some 4 acres, perfect for pets. They incorporate all the charm of the original building carefully mixed with modern luxuries, antiques and lush fabrics making this the ideal family holiday. Minutes from the sandy beaches of Pointz Castle and Newgale, and approximately 30 minutes along the foot path - which passes through the hamlet to the scenic, popular harbour village of Solva. A visit to Pointz Castle ice cream is a must for any holiday, you will drive passed on your way to your cottage. They have a wide variety of yummy flavours to try.

Care needed with children as very small pond within the grounds, accessed through a gate.

Rose Cottage and Honeysuckle Cottage, 32262 have the unique advantage of being ideal for one family by opening a concealed interconnecting door to sleep a family of up to 9.

What a lovely cottage and we love the location - so did our dog, who loved the garden! It is so well placed for getting around. We loved Whitesands beach and Newgale. I'm sure we'll be back. Thank you

Chris Lowe & Family

Lovely little cottage - nicely placed for our favourite beach (Newgale) Solva and St Davids are always good for a wet day. The woolen mill at Solva is also worth a visit, expect to spend a lot in the shop! Thank you for providing such a clean and comfortable cottage!

Paul & Sally

A lovely relaxing week. The private beach is beautiful as was Porthmelgen - about 1 mile along the coast path from Whitesands. Harbour Inn provides excellent food but is very busy early evening. The walking and scenery were as good as anywhere in England & Wales though we did have an interesting meeting with a bull on the coastal path. Many thanks

Wynn Family

Had a super week in the cottage, enjoyed walks with the dog to the 'private beach' and Solva. Lovely dog friendly beach at Broad Haven and 3 good pubs at beautiful Little Haven next bay along. Ate at the Harbour Inn in Solva twice, nice and relaxed atmosphere and dog friendly with great food. We loved the beautiful garden and hearing the birds. Many thanks.

Ian & Julie Arrowsmith

Cottage is lovely, everything nice and clean, had a lovely week our dogs really enjoyed the walks and made good use of the grounds chasing rabbits. Would definitely come back again, thanks again cottage is lovely.

Nicki, Rob & Dexter

What a home from home, felt like we arrived at Grandma's house. Spent the week walking and cooking - really well equipped kitchen, speedy cooker compared to ours! Found the mirrored cupboard to be full of games/dvd's on our last evening. Recommend walking to point castle beach and the walk around Solva in the folder. There are a lot of cows, and not a spider in sight. Thank you

The Whiteleys

Delightful cottage situated in an idyllic quiet hamlet. Well equipped and very comfortable. Enjoyed lovely weather and all the birds who sing from dawn to dusk. Plenty of walking along the coast paths. Good food at The Cwtch in St Davids. Dogs leaving very happy and exhausted. We are leaving relaxed and refreshed. Hope to visit again, Thank you

The Hill Family

Right Then! Well... This cottage is quite simply a marvellous place to spend a quiet holiday away in the wondrous Welsh countryside. The location is fantastic, close to many walks and lovely farmers fields. The cows are a nice touch! I love the large beautiful garden, and so did our Labrador, especially the pond. The cottage itself is well equipped, yet quaint and simplistic in a wonderfully comforting way, I felt at home instantly. We were also blessed with splendid weather for our stay which has probably brought on melanoma but oh well! Fantastic 10/10 gold stay, would stay again! Thank you very much

Rob & Debbie Hallam

We have been coming to Pembrokeshire for many years and this was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed at. Very well equipped, definitely will be back, wish we were here for the whole week. Fab walk to the bay, so windy we could hardly stand up but lovely. Also lovely to find coal and logs, we had brought some with us but it was very wonderful to have everything provided.

Debbie, Patrick, Zoe, Jason & Hope

Another fantastic week in this great location. Highlights included; 1.5 hour coastal path walk to Newgale - quite steep in places, back along road, 1 hour walk to Solva along coastal path - much more gentle and picturesque, clay pigeon shooting near Haverfordwest, boat ride around Ramsey Island to see seals + pups, meal and Druidstone. Dogs loved Newgale beach and Broad Haven and were able to walk to Little Haven as tide was out. Butchers in St Davids does great produce had sausages, steak, chickens and prawns. Pies from cottage caterers a holiday must! Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage - hopefully see you next year.

John Galan

The weather was perfect everyday-we enjoyed the change very much-and out everyday visiting the countryside and the bays including Skomer Island Highly recommended!

The Rudkin Family

We have had a lovely week, mostly sun and windy but no rain so we were bale to enjoy the wonderful coastal path walks. The wild flowers everywhere particularly the bluebells were spectacular, and at the end of the day this comfortable cottage to come back to. Everything we needed was here even Wifi which was helpful as i had no phone signal (i know i am a sad person and needed to keep in touch for emergencies!) Thank you and hope to visit again!

We have really enjoyed staying at your lovely cottage. We felt at home straight away it felt like going back in time. We spent every evening relaxing by the log fire enjoying Mulled Wine. We spent the days walking along the coast, blowing away the cobwebs ready to face the hustle and bustle of every day life feeling recharged! Thank you and Happy New Year!

The cottage is as lovely as I remember from my previous visit - well equipped, comfortable and quiet, a real "get away from it all" which is what I wanted. The weather has not been great, so it was delightful to be able to light a fire on chilly, wet evenings.

The Gillian Family

A delightful cottage, beautifully set with beaches to die for, check out Cwm Yr Eglwys and St Brides for a spectacular swim. Thank you for a wonderful 2 weeks! I LOVE IT!!!

Gill, Paul, Matthew and Thomas

Returned visit to cottage proved as popular as the 1st! A fantastic time as ever, highlights were horse riding for the 1st time! We also had a hugely successful fishing trip out of Dale and a surfing lesson. Everything is close by and easy, whilst the location of the cottage provides a refuge from the madding crowd at the end of the day, bliss!

Clare and Mark

Cottage is cosy, warm and well equipped. A Lovely quiet location, well placed for exploring this beautiful coastline. We can highly reccomend the coastal circular walk from Porthgain to Abereiddy. also a circular walk from Stackpole estate starting at the National Trust car park at Bosherston,. the kids enjoyed Blue Lagoon swimming centre and Pemberton chocolate farm great for a rainy day! Pembroke Castle is also worht taking a trip to see, dog came too! We only ate out twice - good value basic food at the Harbour Inn, Solva and fish and chip supper at The Shed in Porthgain - fabulous!

We returned to Rose cotttage after a 2 year gap wondering if it would be as good as the last time. It was even better than before. Cottage is great, weather great - what a wonderful place. See you again! Scones at Lavender Cafe is a must!

Kelly, Martin and Monty

Lovely cottage, wonderful part of the world. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wendy, Tim, Dee, Joe, Wilma and Kenco

Dogs loved it here again. It is our 2nd visit, we stayed in Honeysuckle next year. Both cottages are lovely, brilliant cove just down the road, virtually had it all to ourselves! Best place for Ice Cream is St Davids, Giannis. Goos food in Grove and The Sloop in Porthgain.

Scarlett, Alex and Luna

Great holiday, good local beaches for fishing, surfing and dogs!

Denis, Mary, Elizabeth, Andrew and Rizzo

We all had a very nice holiday here, it is a beautiful little cottage. The coastal walk is lovely, even on a rainy day! We would reccomend the cream teas form the old Printing House in solva, they are exquisite! Also our favourite beach is Newgale, the weather was very kind to us this week, we will definately be coming back.

Look no further than Solva fro arts and crafts, pubs and resturants. The walk out of Solva Harbour toward Newgale along the cliffs is excellent. For spectacular scenery take the coast road from Newgale, through Nolton to Little Haven (excellent pub fish and chips in Broad Haven). Lovely cottage.

Olley Family

Thankyou for a wonderful break in your beautiful cosy cottage. It has exceeded all our expectations. This is the most fantastic holiday we have had in Wales, offering a bit of everything for everyone. Thouroughly enjoyed the horse riding at Nolton Haven and boat trip around Ramsey Island.
