Ivy Tower village is set in the delightful, historic village of St Florence, perfectly positioned, only a few miles from Tenby’s award winning beaches and fine restaurants and Manorbier, with its historic Norman castle and picture postcard sandy beach.
The private cluster of cottages has been bought individually and each offers their own character. Add to this the wide range of facilities on offer that include a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and WiFi access in communal areas and some cottages, children’s play area and tennis court and you have a venue that is suitable for so many occasions. The stone posted entrance leads to the private parking area, where there is plenty of room to park after your journey. The houses and apartments themselves sleep 2, 4, 5, 6 and 12 people. Built in timber around 1100 by Gerald of Windsor, this now-ruined stone castle is a very popular historic attraction. The walk around the Castle and Tidal Mill is particularly popular with dog owners. The walk is a great free attraction, however there are admission charges upon entry to the castle. Carew Castle often hosts special events throughout the year, see their website for more information.

Saundersfoot’s large golden beach is a blue flag award winner and provides a perfect coastal escape for a wonderful family day out.
This picturesque beach is partially framed by the impressive cliff side and also the stone harbour walls. Fantastic for swimming, water sports and sunbathing, this sandy stretch also benefits from toilet facilities, cafes, pubs and shops all close by
The main section of the beach has a dog ban from May to September, although if you have a dog with you, you can head along The Strand until you reach the tunnel, the dog ban is lifted from this stretch of the beach onwards.
The Paddock Inn is now a popular village pub with coffee shop and bakery, making it a particularly tempting pit stop for anyone exploring the south county. Meals are served between 12noon and 3pm, with evening meals served from 6pm until 9pm. Sunday lunches are served weekly with evening meals served between 6pm and 8pm. A special weekend celebrating literary and musical talent, in the quaint Welsh village of Laugharne, remembered often for its close links to the great poet Dylan Thomas. The festival sees a collection of famous names visit the village for a weekend packed full of fun. Welsh singer Charlotte Church, comedian Dom Joly, Pointless star Richard Osman, and author Ian Rankin (famous for his Inspector Rebus novels) are just a small selection of names who have taken part in the past. Venues consist of The Millennium Hall, the Congregational Church, the Fountain Inn and the Cross Inn. The Preseli Beast is an off-road racing event, still a relatively new event. Approximately 24 miles off road, this race takes in a route through wooded valleys, trails and paths taking in scenery across the Gwaun Valley and Newport Bay. Opt for a smaller race with the Beast Bach, an 11 mile off-road race, or rise to the challenge of the Ultrabeast - a 32 mile off-road race! The start and finish are in Maenclochog, with the Ultrabeast kicking off first.

Rock the Castle is back for yet another year! This fantastic event sees Pembroke Castle host two consecutive nights of live music with an impressive stage set inside the magnificent grounds of the castle for a truly unique and memorable weekend. In 2019, Pembroke Castle have pulled out all the stops and guaranteed some incredible well-known acts. Status Quo, Bonnie Tyler and Dr Feelgood will perform on the Friday night followed by Sister Sledge, Gabrielle and Jazz Morley taking to the stage on the Saturday night. The triathlon with a difference is back once again! Spread across the three days, the Wales Swim takes place on the Friday night on Tenby North Beach, the Sportive on the Saturday and the Marathon on the Sunday. Athletes can opt for just one event or all three meaning everyone who wants to can get involved! Children can even get involved on the Friday in the Taff Kids event! It really is a great event with an exciting atmosphere, athletes and supporters are encouraged to get involved for the whole weekend!

Pembrokeshire's County Show returns for another year! This annual event brings thousands of people to the Haverfordwest Showground each year. With a variety of crafts and stalls, there is also displays, exhibitions and performances to see! There is a whole host of agricultural machinery on display as well as livestock to see, a fair, and a number of horse and dog shows. Of course there is also plenty of opportunities to meet and greet with local businesses, as well as sampling some great local produce on offer in the food hall!

Saundersfoot's newest triathlon is back for 2019! Running the day before Ironman Wales, this triathlon is a sprint triathlon with a 750m sea swim, a 20km bike ride and a 5km run. The event is open to adults and children aged 14 and over.
Ironman Wales returns to Tenby once again in 2019! This incredible event brings a whole number of athletes and supporters to the streets of Tenby and the surrounding Pembrokeshire villages for the weekend. The 2.4 mile swim kicks off the event first thing in the morning, before the 112 mile cycle takes place, before athletes complete the course with a 26 mile marathon. Whether you're an athlete or a supporter, the atmosphere in Tenby is like nothing else in the world - definitely a recommended event to attend!
Tenby's much-loved Arts Festival returns to the seaside town for another year. With a host of music, drama and art, the Arts Festival is sure to have something to interest everyone. There will be a range of performances, talks and workshops for all to see.

Past festivals have drawn over 1500 people to the seaside town for this jam-packed blues festival, so it's no doubt this year's is going to be bigger and better than ever before! 2019 marks the 49th year of the Annual Boxing Day Swim on Tenby's North Beach - a truly great event which really does get the whole community involved! Caldey Island is one of Britain's holy islands. The Cistercian monks of Caldey continue a tradition which began there in Celtic times. More than a thousand years of prayer and quiet living have made this remote and beautiful island a haven of tranquillity and peace. The monks and islanders of Caldey are pleased to welcome day-visitors to share the delights of their island home throughout the summer season. You can explore the historic Old Priory and the medieval churches or join the free guided walk for a closer look at the island's heritage. You may like to drop in at the Video Centre to find out more about life in the Monastery. Visitors are also welcome to attend the one of the short chanted services in the Abbey Church, which form part of the daily prayer life of the monks.
A walk up to the Lighthouse opens up spectacular panoramic views of the Pembrokeshire Coast, Tenby and the Preseli Hills, the Gower Peninsula and Lundy Island. In the village you can buy the perfumes, chocolate and shortbread made on the island. The Village Post Office is also a museum giving an interesting insight into Caldey's history. Postcards and special covers are franked with the Caldey Island handstamp. A fleet of boats runs to the island from Tenby Harbour from Easter to October. These boats, which are licensed and strictly supervised by the Marine Coastguard Agency, are owned by local boatmen, many of whom are members of the crew of the Tenby Lifeboat. Please note: Crossing time is about 20 minutes and all trips are weather permitted.

Tenby Museum is in a superb location atop Castle Hill, overlooking Caldey Island and Carmarthen Bay. The museum itself is home to a number of displays and exhibits including a maritime display, a Roald Dahl exhibit and a WWI exhibition. A really popular attraction is The Story of Tenby gallery where you can learn all about the local history of the seaside town. There are interactive activities and audio visual displays to keep the little ones entertained during your visit. Also making home inside Tenby museum is a library and archive, both of which store information on local history and natural history as well as many items which link back to the area. Inside the Museum is two art galleries which host a programme of changing works and exhibitions. Pay a visit to the shop where you will be able to purchase unique gifts and prints. or enjoy a trip to the coffee shop for a refreshing hot drink with a beautiful view.
