The Preseli Beast is an off-road racing event, still a relatively new event as it is only in its fifth year now. Approximately 24 miles off road, this race takes in a route through wooded valleys, trails and paths taking in scenery across the Gwaun Valley and Newport Bay. Opt for a smaller race with the Beast Bach, an 11 mile off-road race, or rise to the challenge of the Ultrabeast - a 32 mile off-road race! The start and finish are in Maenclochog, with the Ultrabeast kicking off first at 9am.
The Man Up In The Mud run is a great mud run approximately 4.5 miles in distance. Following a great coastal route, the course promises to be boggy and muddy with obstacles to climb over and under!

This ultra marathon is approximately 66.6 miles in distance, with approximately 40 miles of the course running along the coastal path with the remainder along the road. In 2016, only 6 people managed to complete and receive their finisher's medal so you can imagine the difficulty level of this challenge! The course runs through coastal locations such as Solva, Porthclais, St Justinians, Whitesands, Abereiddy and Abermawr, guaranteeing a really memorable course. Due to the nature of the course, cut off is at 20 hours with 5 check points and all participants will be required to bring along a full kit of the following items: Head Torch, Space Blanket, Whistle, Mobile Phone, Map (Supplied), Water, Energy Food, Hat, Gloves, Waterproof Clothing, Sun Cream. Pembrokeshire's County Show returns for another year! This annual event brings thousands of people to the Haverfordwest Showground each year. With a variety of crafts and stalls, there is also displays, exhibitions and performances to see! There is a whole host of agricultural machinery on display as well as livestock to see, a fair, and a number of horse and dog shows. Of course there is also plenty of opportunities to meet and greet with local businesses, as well as sampling some great local produce on offer in the food hall!

Saundersfoot's newest triathlon is back for it's second year in 2017! Running the day before Ironman Wales, this triathlon is a sprint triathlon with a 750m sea swim, a 20km bike ride and a 5km run. The event is open to adults and children aged 14 and over.
Ironman Wales returns to Tenby once again in 2017! This incredible event brings a whole number of athletes and supporters to the streets of Tenby and the surrounding Pembrokeshire villages for the weekend. The 2.4 mile swim kicks off the event first thing in the morning, before the 112 mile cycle takes place, before athletes complete the course with a 26 mile marathon. Whether you're an athlete or a supporter, the atmosphere in Tenby is like nothing else in the world - definitely a recommended event to attend!
The West Wales Wool Show in Narberth is a celebration of all things woolly. From beautifully hand crafted items, clothing and footwear to knitting wool, fleece and all the equipment needed to make at home. Demonstrations run throughout the day with stall holders sharing their skills and knowledge with visitors plus wool skill workshops such as felting. The main aim of the show is to support local wool producers and small craft businesses. Wool as a renewable resource is still undervalued and the show aims to bring this wonderful natural resource back into focus. The show is run by the Pembrokeshire Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers with support from PLANED.

Fishguard once again welcomes you to it's Annual New Year's Eve Street Party! With celebrations, live music and fireworks - it really is a fantastic party to celebrate the coming of the New Year! Refreshments are available on the street and in the surrounding pubs and restaurants. This event is free entry, donations are appreciated as any money given is then put towards next year's celebrations.
Built in timber around 1100 by Gerald of Windsor, this now-ruined stone castle is a very popular historic attraction. The walk around the Castle and Tidal Mill is particularly popular with dog owners. The walk is a great free attraction, however there are admission charges upon entry to the castle. Carew Castle often hosts special events throughout the year, see their website for more information.

Here we are, packing up to go home after a great weeks holiday with grand children. They have had a whale of a time, with tree houses, rope swings, canoes, quad bikes all thanks to Tess and Paul. The grand parents joined in as well as relaxing where possible. Even I enjoyed the canoeing!! The house is in a perfect setting, stunning views, surrounded by cows, sheep and bees!! We have enjoyed the lovely walks, local sights and a couple of the beautiful beaches. We will be back!! Thanks again. Great cycling country with the wind and hills either making to harder or faster! All the better to enjoy a hearty Laverbread breakfast on the return. No swell unfortunately on this tour but plenty else to keep the family occupied. Thank you Paul and Tess for sharing this secret place with us. We will be back. We all had a great time like going on, the canoes and tree climbing, and all so the smelly cows. The children had a lot of fun with Molly and the quad bike.

We all enjoyed the tree house and swings and walks down to the river where we built a small fire and toasted Marshmallows, the Canoes are on offer to explore the beautiful stretch of river, which if you ask Paul, has lots and lots of history of Welsh trade. The house is super warm and comfortable. Unfortunately we were only here for a week, but we will definitely be back. Paul and Tessa's hospitality make sure of that and we are so lucky to have amazing relaxing part of the world as they have. They truly and genuinely want to share what they have with others, if it were me I'd be selfish and keep it for myself. Love the views, lovely large kitchen and amazing shower. Bought several lovely oilcloth items from the selection upstairs, just fabulous. Lovely fabric shop in the town and a delicious bakery call the Welsh Bakery. We ate a lot!!!

What a fabulous place great cottage fantastic hospitality the freedom to explore without the adults was a massive bonus. Would love to come back. We have had a fantastic week, picnicking on beautifull freezing cold sunny beaches; we loved the coastal walk at St Davids and at Stackpole to Barafundle ..but the biggest hit was cooking sausages on the campfire in the den in the woods: Gorgeous house, fabulous spot - we will recommend you to our friends. Spring is finally here! We also loved the St Davids walk, also horse riding on the beach, Go Karts in Haverfordwest. Lots of beaches, bonfire in the woods and getting stuck in the tree house! Third time and counting thanks for your hospitality.

The boys loved the Dinosaur Park and Blue Lagoon(warmed us up anyway) but the biggest hit was cooking sausages on a campfire in the den in the woods. Gorgeous house, fabulous spot. We had a fantastic holiday and we have been to loads of beaches including our favourites Tenby and Marloes. Although the surfing has not been at its best we all managed to stand up. Thank you for everything and the scones and jam you gave us.

Birds on river trip: little egret, grey heron, swan, common sandpiper,cormorant, in woods long tailed tits, wrens, buzzards & nuthatches.
We love staying here. We have been in the canoes, eaten wonderful beans & lettuce, visited loads of beaches, surfed lots. nice to see Henry & Matilda (the resident dogs) agaion, baby ducks. Edith liked the treehouse & cows and the swing. The best cottage ever.

What a fantastic week we have all had ! Even the heavy rainstorms have been memorable. If we could we wouldall buy this place. The boys loved the trip to the weir and down to Hook via the river. Steve caught quite a few bass. This is by far the nicest place/location we've stayed at.
