About Station House

Station House is a detached 200 year old cottage in the heart of the village of Lamphey just 1.5 miles from the glorious sandy beach of Freshwater East. Next door to the small village train station, it is ideal for a relaxing break. Arrive by train or leave your car for the week and enjoy a slower pace of life. Head to the seaside town of Tenby or the historic Pembroke with its magnificent medieval Castle, by train.

This super cottage is full of character, the glazed porch leads into the spacious sitting/dining room with its white washed walls, beams and slate floor, the wood burning stove ensures this is a cosy retreat. A small rear hall leads through to the cottage-style kitchen and bathroom while a stable door opens to the enclosed, rear garden, a sheltered spot with a patio and small lawn, ideal for relaxing and enjoying an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening. Open-tread stairs lead from the sitting area to the two bedrooms above.

Conveniently located, Lamphey is steeped in history, visit the ruins of the Bishops Palace or enjoy a luxury spa at the Lamphey Court Hotel, there is also a well-stocked village shop, garage, bakery, as well as pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

There are a host of beautiful beaches to explore with Freshwater East being the closest, this is ideal for families with its gently sloping beach. Take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to really appreciate this stunning coastline with its hidden beaches and coves, including, Barafundle, Stackpole Quay and Broadhaven South which is best approached with a walk around the National Trust Lily Ponds. There are number of village pubs where you can enjoy a good meal including Stackpole Inn, St Govans Inn at Bosherston, as well as the Olde Worlde Tea Rooms for afternoon tea. Visits to Manorbier and the bustling walled town of Tenby with its quaint cobbled streets, picturesque harbour and range of facilities are a must, while a day spent wandering the ruins of Pembroke’s medieval Castle is sure to delight.

Please note that Station House is located next to a working village train station with small trains passing every two hours or so.

Property has space for 2 cars parked directly outside on level tarmac. Porch and main entrance doors have a 100 mm step. Alternative entrance accessed through 1.58 m wide gate and 1.05 m wide passageway on concrete path. Garden is approximately 5m x 6m and is level turf and concrete. Has picnic bench. Living and dining room beamed ceiling is 2m high. All internal doors are 760 mm wide. Ground floor facilities include large living/dining room, kitchen and bathroom/overhead shower/whb/wc. First floor has 2 double bedrooms accessed via 10 open backed stairs. Bath/shower is 550 mm high. Kitchen has ample worktops space and low-level oven. Well lit sitting room, natural and artificial lighting. Large wood burning stove in living/dining room. Small TV with HDMI cable and DVD player. External lights in garden operated in hallway, front of property lights activated automatically. Public Transport – Sheltered Train station approx. 10 m away. Sheltered Bus stop approx. 50 m away. Dogs welcome.
