Dr Beynon's Bug Farm is one of the most unique and exciting attractions that Pembrokeshire has to offer, so much so that it won an award for Most Exciting Business at the 2016 Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards. Also a working farm and Scientific Research Centre, The Bug Farm is now a popular visitor's attraction. With a Tropical Bug Zoo and Bug Museum, a Bug Farm Trail and Walled Garden, and even an indoor play area in their Bug Barn, there is plenty to do and see! They host regular workshops and events as well as offering lectures, tours and bug handling with up-close sessions. The Bug Farm is a Visit Wales Quality Assured Visitor Attraction, having also won Best Start-Up of the Year at the 2016 FSB Worldpay Business Awards and won the 2015 Plantlife International Meadow Maker of the Year for Wales. Dr Sarah Beynon has been selected by the Welsh Government as an "emerging legend" to coincide with Wales' 2017 Year of Legends.
The Bug Farm is also home to the restaurant everyone is talking about, Grub Kitchen, which serves creative and delicious dishes where the ingredients are local conservation grade produce as well as edible insects - don't worry, there are a number of dishes available for those of you who don't fancy sampling bugs! The Grub Kitchen holds a Visit Wales Quality Cafe Award.
The Grub Kitchen is open from 12pm - 3.30pm during Bug Farm opening hours. On days when they are available, up-close sessions are available on the hour every hour between 11am and 4pm with a surcharge of £1 - please check prior to your visit.
Children must be supervised at all times and well behaved dogs are welcome on leads to the Bug Farm however certain areas are marked not suitable for dogs as it is still a working farm.

After it's huge success in previous years, the Haverfoodfest is back! Making the most of quality local produce, the Haverfoodfest welcomes everyone to sample the incredible food and drink that our local producers have to offer. With a number of food stalls, as well as demonstrations, competitions and entertainment, the Haverfoodfest is certainly one to be on the list of events to go to this year!

Hosted by the RSPB and Marine Special Areas of Conservation, you can join the Friends of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (FPCNP) on a trip to the islands of Ramsey and Grassholm, both known for their magnificent wildlife and seabirds. This is a fantastic opportunity to go wildlife spotting and enjoy a Guided Walk learning all about the islands.
Enter a 5K fun run at Carew Airfield this May and help Paul Satori fund raise for their great cause. This fun run will take place across an inflatable course complete with obstacles, foam and more! Plan a visit to Picton Castle this May for their very first food festival - The Picton Feast! Spread across two days, this event will take place in the stunning grounds of Picton Castle. There will be a range of food and refreshments available with stallholders offering great produce, demonstrations, talks and music entertainment.
The Preseli Beast is an off-road racing event, still a relatively new event. Approximately 24 miles off road, this race takes in a route through wooded valleys, trails and paths taking in scenery across the Gwaun Valley and Newport Bay. Opt for a smaller race with the Beast Bach, an 11 mile off-road race, or rise to the challenge of the Ultrabeast - a 32 mile off-road race! The start and finish are in Maenclochog, with the Ultrabeast kicking off first.
This Charity Horse and Dog Show is an annual event which occurs in May each year in St. David's. With show jumping, dog shows, stalls and refreshments, this is a great day out for all those interested in horses and dogs!
Running from the event headquarters at Crug Glas Country House Hotel near St Davids, this event sees approximately 1500 cyclists take part in the sportive tour of Pembrokeshire. There are now four distance routes covering much of North Pembrokeshire taking you through Fishguard, Newport and Cardigan depending on the distance you take part in. It's a great event for athletes and supporters alike, children can even take part too! Please note, all riders under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
The St Davids Cathedral Festival takes place across ten days with a range of classical and contemporary musical performances taking place in the beautiful setting of St Davids Cathedral. This event is a success year after year, and is definitely one not to be missed. Performers in the past have included the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, The Sixteen, Goodwick Brass Band. With two different distances available, you can either enter the Middle Distance event which is made up of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run; or the Sprint Distance which is made up of a 750m swim, a 13 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Whether you're an athlete or a spectator, supporters line the streets creating an amazing atmosphere and energy which definitely makes this event a must-see!
Rock the Castle is back for yet another year! This fantastic event sees Pembroke Castle host two consecutive nights of live music with an impressive stage set inside the magnificent grounds of the castle for a truly unique and memorable weekend. In 2019, Pembroke Castle have pulled out all the stops and guaranteed some incredible well-known acts. Status Quo, Bonnie Tyler and Dr Feelgood will perform on the Friday night followed by Sister Sledge, Gabrielle and Jazz Morley taking to the stage on the Saturday night. Pembrokeshire's County Show returns for another year! This annual event brings thousands of people to the Haverfordwest Showground each year. With a variety of crafts and stalls, there is also displays, exhibitions and performances to see! There is a whole host of agricultural machinery on display as well as livestock to see, a fair, and a number of horse and dog shows. Of course there is also plenty of opportunities to meet and greet with local businesses, as well as sampling some great local produce on offer in the food hall!

Fishguard once again welcomes you to it's Annual New Year's Eve Street Party! With celebrations, live music and fireworks - it really is a fantastic party to celebrate the coming of the New Year! Refreshments are available on the street and in the surrounding pubs and restaurants.
A perfect way to bring in the new year, Victoria Hall in Roch is hosting their annual New Years celebrations with a bonfire and fireworks. The event starts from 5pm onwards with the lighting of the bonfire, and refreshments are available in the hall throughout the evening. Admission to be paid upon entry.
