About The Old Post Office

The Old Post Office is a delightful stone cottage, fully renovated, one of three houses set on a small lane in the heart of the village of Llanrhian, less than a mile’s walk from the coast and Porthgain.

Beautifully finished it retains character with exposed stonework and traditional features, yet with modern facilities, furnished in an eclectic mix of traditional and modern pieces, the open-plan living space links through with wooden flooring throughout, the sitting room with a wood burning stove ensures a cosy feel, this leads through to the spacious dining room and galley style, bespoke, fitted kitchen with all modern facilities.

French doors open to a decked terrace to the rear of the cottage, a super sheltered sunny spot to enjoy an alfresco meal, with lovely views over the rolling fields beyond, all enclosed there is a raised sloping lawn to the side. Stairs from the sitting room lead up to the bedrooms above with quality beds and fresh white linen with views over the surrounding countryside.

Tucked away, this super holiday cottage is conveniently located, perfect for exploring the area on foot, footpaths and pretty lanes abound, the popular fishing village of Porthgain is less than a mile away with the picturesque pub, The Sloop, serving good food, as well as an excellent restaurant and galleries clustered around this sandy bottomed harbour, take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to explore this stunning coastline on foot, just over the headland lies Traeth Llyfn beach, one of Pembrokeshire’s finest. Further afield are a number of hidden coves and fishing villages including Abermawr and Abercastle to the north. The village of Trefin with its pub and cafe is well worth a visit perched above Aberfelin beach. While to the south is Abereiddy with its black sand and shingle beach and the Blue Lagoon. The tiny city of St Davids is within a short drive and has a range of facilities to try, as well as its Cathedral and Bishops Palace to explore. Keen surfers will not want to miss Whitesands beach, voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world and ideal for families, as well as beginners and professional surfers alike.

Holidaymakers will be smitten by The Old Post Office from the moment they arrive, whatever the time of year.

“This is the second year we have stayed here. It is very well fitted out and comfortable. It is ideally situated between St David’s and Fishguard and for us very conveniently near Porthgain and Abereiddy. Most of the coastal path can be reached in from just a few minutes to an hour. We hope to return next year.”
