About The Rath

The Rath is a superb, semi-detached house, enjoying the most wonderful location above the beach in Saundersfoot with stunning sea views.

The golden sandy beach and facilities are only a few minutes downhill walk away. Beautifully renovated throughout to a high standard in a contemporary style with quality furnishings, their light colouring and washed distressed wood finishes reflects its coastal location. The newly fitted kitchen with central island will make preparing meals a joy, it has been opened to the dining area where you can enjoy the wonderful sea views through the bay window as you eat.

The light dual-aspect sitting room has comfy leather seating, sliding doors open to the paved front terrace, the perfect spot to sit on a summer’s evening and enjoy an alfresco meal while you soak up the views over the whole of Carmarthen Bay and out to sea. Stairs lead up to the bedrooms above, wake in the morning to views out to sea in the two double bedrooms. Accessed via a driveway shared with the detached annex to the rear of the property, there is also a small rear lawned area adjacent to the drive and also accessed from patio doors out of the sitting room.

Spend your days on the long sandy beach of Saundersfoot just a short walk away where you can try your hand at the several water sports on offer. Enjoy wandering the shops, pubs and restaurants in this seaside village or join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path; east takes you through the tunnels, all that remains of the area's industrial coal mining past, taking you to the renowned Coast Restaurant at Coppet Hall beach or on to Wiseman's Bridge, enjoy a drink or meal at the pub here overlooking the beach before you retrace your steps. Further on again is Amroth with its long stretch of sand and popular seafront pubs and cafes. To the west is the bustling harbour town of Tenby with its quaint cobbled streets, atmospheric medieval walls, picturesque harbour, 4 beautiful beaches to enjoy and a range of facilities. From the harbour, take a fishing trip out to sea or boat trip to Caldey Island, the home of Cistercian monks, the atmosphere is tranquil and calming.

There really is something for everyone nearby with a choice of golf courses to try including Trefloyne and Tenby Links golf course and a host of family attractions including Manor House Wildlife Park, Folly Farm and Heatherton World of Activities all within a short drive.

A truly magical holiday retreat for families or couples to enjoy all year round to which you will just long to return.

We have had the most amazing holiday. The Rath is one of the best properties we have stayed in, very well provided for. There was everything a family could need and decorated to the 5 star standard it was advertised at. Also the attention to detail was excellent in the house and also from Coastal Cottages who we booked through. Saundersfoot was also perfect - enough livliness to keep a family of four entertained. Finally, the beaches are stunning and our 2 boys are aged 10 and 12 and our golden lab have had the time of their lives! We will be booking again ASAP.

Arrived excited, left elated! What a wonderful home to relax and enjoy the views. The home was spotless on arrival and the five of us were blown away with the views. Our son just kept saying 'Thank you Dad!' The team from Coastal Cottages have been brilliant and our neighbours have been warm and welcoming, I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful week we have all had. Thanks to everyone involved in getting the property ready and we will see you next year.

Fab Fab Fab! Superb location, beautiful house and everything you need within walking distance. So relaxing and we felt at home immediately. What a view to wake up to, unbeatable and also made meal times special. We treated ourselves to the taster menu at Coast - amazing. I'm sure that we will be back next year.

We have very much enjoyed our first visit to Pembrokeshire. This house is amazing - we have loved our stay here. Waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the sea, the lovely views across the bay - couldn't ask for more!

We had an amazing week here in Saundersfoot. What a fabulous house with everything you need and more. Really impressed with the style of the property, it certainly is five star luxury! Great location to the beach and stunning views of the sea. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity, felt like a retreat. Look forward to returning here in the future. An excellent refurbishment - Wow!!

The Whymans, The Princea and a Shepherdson

The house is amazing here, we couldn't have asked for more. It was the perfect place to bring our 8 month old son for his first holiday to the seaside. The weather this week has been glorious and we've enjoyed lots of trips to the beach and having alfresco breakfast, lunch and tea looking at the beautiful view. We'll be back very soon.
