Set on the flanks of Garn Fawr, a Dark Sky Discovery Site, Ty Canol is just 400 yards from the Coast Path and the dramatic Pwll Deri cliffs from which the coast to St David's unfolds. The area is a haven of discovery which never ceases to delight our visitors with the variety of nearby beaches, wildlife, history and activities. Built in 1780 as the local smithy, Ty Canol is spacious yet retains the charm of a Pembrokeshire stone cottage. It is characterfully furnished with a well-equipped country-style kitchen, Victorian pine and beamed ceilings. The cottage is surrounded by patios and lawns, loved by youngsters, and steps lead to an elevated and secluded patio with extensive countryside views towards the nearby crags of Garn Fawr.

We like this cottage very much, easy to live in and it works very well if you have a canine companion. Appreciated the clean garden conditions of gravel and grass and the garage is great for storage and cleaning any muddy boots and paws. William our spaniel clearly enjoyed himself and felt very much at home. Thank you for allowing us to share your cottage, we would hope to return. This was out first visit to Pembrokeshire and we were blessed with fine weather. Enjoyed the stunning scenery of the coastal paths at Strumble Head, Stackpole and St Justinians. The boat trip around Ramsey Islandwas a highlight of the week.
A quirky cottage with a warm and comfortable feel. It felt like a home from home, wonderfully placed to take advantage of the stunning coastal scenery. We had a great time, Thanks!
What a fantastic week of walking and relaxing. We love coming here and this is our third visit, and we will come again. Lovely setting and just a short walk to one of the best cliffs/coasts/sunsets you will ever see.
What a wonderful place! We were here during a heatwave and so enjoyed the peace and beauty of our surroundings. Thank you
We have had a lovely week here, even though we had a lot of fog (very atmospheric!) and an amazing thunderstorm which kept us awake all night. A Lovely place to walk, for shilling out, for plants, birds and other wildlife, for history and the dark sky (when clear!), is great for astronomy. All in all lots of opportunities for photography. For eating out, try 'Somethings Cooking' in Letterston which does great fish and chips and uses gluten free batter on request, and farmhouse kitchen in Goodwick is great for vegetarians and very reasonably priced. Hope to come again soon -Thank you!
Excellent Cottage - Very homely, historic and comfortable. I will have quite happily never got into the car, just walking and getting the Strumble Shuttle Bus straight from here. So many walks along the coastal footpath in both directions done and still to do. The bus is excellent for walking one way and riding back or vice versa. Surfing conditions took us further afield to Freshwater West and Broad Haven South near Stackpole as well as many visits to Whitesands Bay. Enjoyed a meal out at the Bishops in St Davids which overlooks the Cathedral and walked to the Ship Inn from Pencym. Ship Inn in Trefin also good from a previous visit. 6th time in Pembrokeshire - hope to be back. Ramsey, Isle of Man and New Zealand
Our 1st stay at Ty Canol. Beautiful cottage, tastefully furnished, lovely position, quiet and tranquil. We have enjoyed our stay and dont really want to go home Thakns
This is our third stay at Ty Canol; it gets better every time! Such a lovely cottage in such an idyllic setting. We have been lucky with the weather to thanks again
Another wonderful week's retreat. We try to come every year, thank you for providing such a lovely place of calm & quiet
Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage, we have had an amazing time exploring the coastline. Highlights...exploring strumble head and seeing a seal and her pup...body boarding and rock pooling at Abereiddi...climbing Garn Fawr....watching sea trout leaping at Trefin...watching seals off Abercastle. We have loved returning to the cottage in the evenings a real cosy home from home both our children have never slept so well. hope to return soon
We have had a Super week. Cycled to Porthgain and back, The sloop Inn is one of our favourite spots. The cottage has been fantastic-have to say the cleanliness is excellent.
I meant to allow time to write in here at leisure but the holiday has come to end all to quickly. We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a perfect cottage at short notice. Our few days here have been an opportunity to wallow in nostalgia as I was brought up in Mathry and we've enjoyed many holidays over the years. Coming back to this cosy cottage every evening has been sheer pleasure, especailly in some rather wild (but typical north Pembs) weather. Very sad to go, but will take away many more memories to add to the wonderful collection we share- Thank You
Felt at home from the word go, as Bethan is 6 months pregnant this is the last trip away as just the two of us. This is the best cottage-classy and lovley atmosphere we slept really well
Lovely- Thanks a lot
Yet another enjoyable stayin Pembrokeshire in this delightful cottage
Lovely Cottage enjoyed our stay here- Thanks
A brilliant cottage and lovely to walk into after cold fresh air. The roof beams remind me of Scotland which is one of my favourite places. I really enjoyed the garden which, as you discover it, extends into a nice big garden. The views are brilliant.
This has been an amazing holiday, with fantastic weather and brilliant and varied days. I’ve seen wild snakes and seals, swam in the sea with massive waves and nearly got caught in a stampede of cows. Thanks for this brilliant cottage and thanks for this amazing holiday!
I have immensely enjoyed my 4 day break in this idyllic place. I have stayed in several different locations in Wales and this is definitely my favourite! So much care and thought has been put into this cottage by the owners. I especially enjoyed the historical information …… I have been trying to imagine all the people who have lived and worked around this cottage
We hope the next guests to this lovely house on this exceptional stretch of coast continue to enjoy this glorious autumn weather. Thank you for the thoughtful gift of wine and chocs. and for the kind attention of the housekeeper on our first evening.
We have just completed a wonderful long weekend here. The cottage was excellent and homely to come back to after our excursions.
What a fantastic house and location ! Thank you
We have truly enjoyed our stay again at Ty Canol. We do love it here- the light, the flowers in the hedgerows, the Coast Path in all weathers and the pretty home itself set among glorious rural countryside yet with the smell of the sea nearby
This is a beautiful stretch of coast and being within walking distance has given me a great excuse to ignore the car for a few days ! Ty Canol is beautiful, the nicest house I have stayed in for a long time. Lovely homely feel, really well appointed and the wine and chocs on arrival was a great touch
Our second stay in Ty Canol-so homely and spotlessly clean and a cottage so full of character. A fox visited us, only 3ft away in the front garden at 5.45 on the first morning. I could go on and on......
The cottage was definitely one of the best we have stayed in on our visits to Pembrokeshire
Lovely cottage with excellent facilities will definitely come again
Cottage was "purfect" just right for our needs
Very comfortable cottage, a place one looks forward to return to after a day out walking-wonderful we have every intention to return!
Our third visit to the cottage and perhaps the best so far. We had one of our best ever holidays thanks.
And good to have comfy bed and a lovey cottage to come home to
This is our fifth year holidaying in Pembrokeshire and possible the best. The cottage has been a fantastic base with everything we've needed Cathy and Mike have been both friendly and helpful
The cottage is fantastic and we've appreciated the mod cons - especially the dryer has been invaluable with the mixed weather
The farmhouse is full of charm and character and feels really lived in and I found it to be spotlessly clean. Furniture etc is in keeping with the period of the building and thank goodness for the mod cons in the kitchen
Above all, the peac and timelessness of this corner of Wales has left us rested and refreshed.
Thank you for another wonderful holiday - it felt like coming home
A big thank you to all for our peaceful rest in this unique cottage. After 10 years once again deloghted to be in this lovely house
