Deceptively spacious, it has been renovated to a very high standard and will not cease to delight, retaining its character with exposed stone work and beams, yet furnished in a beautiful contemporary style. Narrow stairs lead to the first floor lounge with wood burning stove and comfy sofas for cosying up on chillier evenings while the unique window seat in the eaves gives the most breathtaking views out over Newport town, the golden sands of the beach and out to sea, you will not want to move from the window seat where you can relax and soak up the view. On the ground floor, the modern fitted kitchen leads into a spacious dining area where you can enjoy family meals, doors fold back opening the whole of the dining room up onto a decked area and enclosed, lawned garden, ideal for an alfresco meal or summer barbecue while you admire the sea view.
The shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries in the popular coastal town of Newport are only half a mile away with the beautiful Newport Sands beach a little further on. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and explore the beautiful coves and beaches that abound or take one of the many footpaths and walk up Carn Ingli, the views over this dramatic coastline are stunning.

Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Eglwyswrw a tourist attraction at the foot of the Preseli Mountains. They are known internationally for breeding a shire horse called Major Mercury (aka Dyfed Celt) one of the household cavalry drum horses. There is plenty for the whole family to do, whatever the weather. Daily Timetable of activities including, Harnessing demonstrations, during which we will dress the horse in a working set of harness and explain the function and history of the harness, Horse and cart rides (Summer Holidays Only) Tractor ride around the working farm, Animal Feeding and Donkey Grooming. They also have an Indoor soft play area & Outdoor adventure area - Crazy Golf, Sand Shed and Skittles. Nature Trail with woodlands and hedgerows to explore and stunning views of the Preseli Mountains to enjoy.

Head to Fishguard's Town Hall every Saturday morning for the popular Farmer's Market where you'll have a chance to sample and buy a range of local produce such as eggs, cheeses, breads, jams and chutneys.

This year, Cardigan is celebrating Christmas with a bonanza of festive celebrations spread over a whole fortnight! There will be late night shopping, pop up events and free parking throughout the town on Saturdays. The fortnight kicks off on the 3rd with the Lights Switch on, and there will be a Festive Fireworks Display on the 9th December. A Giant Lantern Parade will also be held through the streets of Cardigan between 7pm and 8pm on the 9th. In the true festive spirit, there will be a Christmas Fair in Cardigan Castle on the 10th and 11th as well as Cabaret at the Small World Theatre on the 16th. Head to Cardigan Guildhall on the 17th to meet real reindeers!

Get muddy this Christmas with this festive muddy event! This Mud Run is approximately 8k and takes you through some boggy, muddy areas of coast path and possibly the sea! Crossing through farmland, this route will take you climbing over and under things getting you well and truly covered in mud! Take part with friends for fun or challenge them to a race! This event is not timed, but the final finishing order will be published after the event. Span Arts are hosting a Pay What You Can Family Theatre where everyone is welcome to attend and 'Pay What You Can' for the Performance , paying whatever you can afford to give us (suggested donation is £5 per ticket.) Fishguard once again welcomes you to it's Annual New Year's Eve Street Party! With celebrations, live music and fireworks - it really is a fantastic party to celebrate the coming of the New Year! Refreshments are available on the street and in the surrounding pubs and restaurants. This event is free entry, donations are appreciated as any money given is then put towards next year's celebrations.
A perfect way to bring in the new year, Victoria Hall in Roch is hosting their annual New Years celebrations with a bonfire and fireworks. The event starts from 5pm onwards with the lighting of the bonfire, and refreshments are available in the hall throughout the evening. Admission to be paid upon entry.
Amy Wadge and Luke Jackson, two generations of singer-songwriters, come together in this performance at Theatre Mwldan. Any Wadge has established herself as one of the country's most successful singer-songwriters with a large portfolio of compositions and performances under her belt. She has even worked with the likes of Ed Sheeran, being the co-writer of one of his best-selling singles "Thinking Out Loud" which won her a Grammy along with a BRIT nominations. Luke Jackson is a rising young singer-songwriter who has been nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. His talented voice and great guitar skills have seen him perform acoustic sets supporting the likes of Oysterband and Show of Hands as well as playing The Great British Folk Festival. This performance begins at 7.30pm and tickets are £12.
Celebrate Burns Night with a real Scottish treat in Moylegrove this January. You can dine on Scottish dishes including haggis, tatties, neeps and clootie dumplings. There will also be entertainment including pipers, musicians and folk singers as well as a slide-show of north-west Scotland. This event starts at 7.30pm at Moylegrove Village Hall (the old school).
This live production tells the tale of Welsh actor, Richard Burton, from his humble beginnings to his Hollywood fame. The story tells of his relationship with the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, as well as his experiences with wealth and fame. Burton is a live theatre production with Rhodri Miles of Game of Thrones fame starring as a young Richard Burton. It has received critical acclaim at two Edinburgh Fringe Festivals (2009 and 2014) plus at the 2010 Hollywood Fringe Festival. The performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets start from £3.
Children's classic tale, Pinocchio, is brought to life this February with Cbeebies Patrick Lynch telling the story of the famous puppet. The performance begins at 2pm and tickets start from £8.50. The show is suitable for children aged 5 and up.
Oysters 3 are made up of the three founder members of folk-rock band Oysterband. This March, Oysters 3, are treating Theatre Mwldan to a fresh performance with acoustic songs you may recognise from their lengthy career and stories which give an interesting insight to the history of the band. This performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets start at £3.
A firm favourite with our regular visitors, Picton Castle's Easter Egg Trail for children is a self-guided scamper through fabulous woodlands as they burst into bloom. Collect your leaflet at the Ticket Office and follow the trail – you will find clues along the way! When you have finished, pop into the Gift Shop to collect your prize. It's a great way for the whole family to enjoy the woodlands as masses of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Magnolias come into flower. While the kids rush around in search of clues, the ‘grown-ups' can enjoy the magnificent colours and scents. After the walk, what better reward than a nice warming cup of hot chocolate with cream and a homemade cake in the Courtyard Restaurant, or perhaps make it a lunchtime visit and enjoy the Spanish dish of the day with a glass of wine or beer! Day three of the MKF ( Midlands Kite Fliers) Rendezvous with a day flying at Hilton Court Gardens and Crafts, Roch, Pembrokeshire with its stunning coastal views overlooking St Brides Bay.
The Preseli Beast is an off-road racing event, still a relatively new event as it is only in its fifth year now. Approximately 24 miles off road, this race takes in a route through wooded valleys, trails and paths taking in scenery across the Gwaun Valley and Newport Bay. Opt for a smaller race with the Beast Bach, an 11 mile off-road race, or rise to the challenge of the Ultrabeast - a 32 mile off-road race! The start and finish are in Maenclochog, with the Ultrabeast kicking off first at 9am.
The Man Up In The Mud run is a great mud run approximately 4.5 miles in distance. Following a great coastal route, the course promises to be boggy and muddy with obstacles to climb over and under!
2017 celebrates Penlan's third year of festivities set in the peaceful woodland setting. There will be craft stalls, refreshments, live music, open mic, and competitions such as the Annual Song Writing Competition.
This very popular annual event is back once again! With classic vehicles of all varieties, there's something here for car lovers, tractor lovers, military vehicle buffs and those mad for motorcycles! There will be children's entertainment, craft stalls and refreshments available.
With two different distances available, you can either enter the Middle Distance Ocean Lava event which is made up of a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile cycle and a 13.1 mile run; or the Wales Triathlon Sprint Distance which is made up of a 750m swim, a 13 mile cycle and a 4 mile run. Whether you're an athlete or a spectator, supporters line the streets creating an amazing atmosphere and energy which definitely makes this event a must-see!
With a packed weekend of music, literature, sport and food, Solva's Edge Festival makes the most of the local produce and events, and is a great weekend for all the family. The weekend hosts a Battle of the Bands, an open-water swim and a football tournament, plus there is a Beer and Cider festival throughout the weekend. Cardigan River and Food Festival is an annual event which strives to showcase the fantastic local produce available in Wales with demonstrations, entertainment and activities. Of course - there will be ample opportunities to see and taste some of that local produce on offer!
Pembrokeshire's County Show returns for another year! This annual event brings thousands of people to the Haverfordwest Showground each year. With a variety of crafts and stalls, there is also displays, exhibitions and performances to see! There is a whole host of agricultural machinery on display as well as livestock to see, a fair, and a number of horse and dog shows. Of course there is also plenty of opportunities to meet and greet with local businesses, as well as sampling some great local produce on offer in the food hall!
Held in various locations across the seaside town of Fishguard, this festival occurs annual over the August Bank Holiday celebrating jazz and blues music.
Cardigan's annual Quays Festival is held each year in August and celebrates the culture and heritage of the North Pembrokeshire town. A busy weekend, there will be entertainment, activities, craft stalls and refreshments available from a whole host of local producers.

Fantastic 5* accommodation that welcomes dogs how lucky we are! Weather did not oblige, but we still got out and about. Thoroughly recommend the witches cauldron walk (in the book) though paths very boggy at the moment. So nice to return to this beautiful cottage and log fire. Really lovely that so many pubs welcome dogs around here too. The cottage is so well equipped and tastefully done! Thank you for a wonderful stay we hope to return.

We have enjoyed the comfy cottage and relaxed way of life. Spent a lot of time at Newport beach and looking at the view from the window seat. Everything is so comfy we probably stayed in and enjoyed it too much. A great place to come back with local goodies from the butchers with local Lamb. The Golden Lion does great pub grub and is friendly.

Fabulous week. Cottage was lovely and ideally placed for some great walks did the length of the Preselli Hills, also Carn Ingli, and walked from Newport to Dinas Island and around the Island. Charlie and Monty also loved their runs on the beach down at Newport Golf Club.

Our second stay and it was as wonderful as we remembered such a quiet relaxing spot to unwind-like being marooned somewhere -in a good way! We were warm and comfortable. Meals at the Golden Lion were as good as ever. We will return.

Had a lovely stay despite the rain, at least one of our days was sunny!! Some great walks took some lovely photos at Pentre Ifan Cromlech in the late afternoon sunshine and at Newport BRidge at sunset, interesting to watch the birds. The cottage is lovely so cozy on the upper floor. The micro brewery at Bluestone Brewery is worth a visit for a little beer tasting. Highly recommend 'Blas O Fronlas' Cafe in Market Street Newport, lovely stroll on Poppit Sands, great long beach and interesting walk on the coastal path from Cardigan. Diolch yn fawr.

This cottage has certainly got the 'wow' factor as you enter + as you walk through each door. we only cooked once( shame in such a lovely kitchen) due to so much on offer locally. Very dog friendly in ' The Castle' bar. where we enjoyed eating out twice - Music evenings (Saturdays ) as Gwain Valley Brewery ( Free) give you a chance to try locally brewed beer.
