About West Barn

West Barn is a delightful, detached, stone long barn, set at the end of a rural no-through lane in the quiet hamlet of Lochvane which comprises only five other properties. Beautifully renovated, it retains its original charm with contemporary furnishings. The barn enjoys rural views and has a large, enclosed lawned garden with access to a further 1.5 acre paddock; children will enjoy a game of cricket or bowls on the specially landscaped area.

The well-equipped, but rustic country kitchen with range cooker and farmhouse table is ideal for leisurely family meals. 1 step up is the quirkily furnished sitting room with its vaulted beamed ceiling and French doors to the garden. Stairs lead up to a galleried bedroom nestling in the eaves, while a corridor off the sitting room gives access to 3 other cosy bedrooms on the ground floor.

Newgale with its long, sandy beach popular for surfing and other water sports, can be tried at the hire shop, only 2 miles away; a pub and 2 cafes on the beachside add to your enjoyment. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which passes through Lochvane and explore the labyrinth of amazing walks around the cliffs to Solva or Newgale with no need for a car, while the sandy beach of Pointz Castle is only minutes away. A visit to Pointz Castle ice cream is a must for any holiday, you will drive past on your way to your cottage. They have a wide variety of yummy flavours to try.

A short car journey will take you to the tiny city of St Davids with its historic Cathedral and Bishops Palace; boat trips from St Justinians to the bird sanctuary of Ramsey Island are not to be missed. The picturesque harbour village of Solva with pubs, restaurants and galleries clustering round the pretty narrow inlet is well worth a visit.

A wonderful cottage for families and friends to enjoy all year round.
