About Woodview

Woodview is a delightful wood-clad retreat just for two, attached to the owners’ own 300 year old cottage. Renovated and furnished to a high standard, it nestles in its woodland location adjoining the owners’ garden with lovely views over the surrounding fields beyond. A level paved pathway leads round to Woodview with a fenced paved terrace giving a perfect spot to relax with views over the owners’ garden; French doors lead into the open-plan living space with a comfy sofa, bistro dining and fitted kitchen area. A welcoming dual-aspect double bedroom looking out through the trees to the fields beyond and ensuite wet room complete the accommodation.

Enjoy relaxing in the natural woodland garden with pretty wild flowers, mature trees and flowering shrubs or you are welcome to wander the owners’ garden with their free range chickens. Sample the complimentary jar of honey produced from the owners’ own hives at the bottom of their grounds. Keen bird-watchers and wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy the many visitors to this garden including woodpeckers, nuthatches, jays and pheasants.

Once part of the Picton Estate, Picton Castle is less than two miles away and is well worth a visit. Admire their glorious grounds with courtyard restaurant at Maria’s and secret owl garden or enjoy one of their many seasonal events and fairs.

Set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, wonderful walks abound; wander down country lanes to the banks of the beautiful Cleddau estuary. Slebech Country Park, a 700 acre estate, also offers woodland walks, as well as an award winning restaurant, while Canaston Woods with its many trails are nearby.

Conveniently located in the centre of Pembrokeshire, the bustling market town of Haverfordwest is only a short drive away with its picturesque riverside setting and Castle ruins. It offers a range of facilities and renowned Farmers Market, while golfing enthusiasts can enjoy a round at Haverfordwest Golf Club, only a few minutes drive away. There are a wealth of magnificent beaches to explore linked by the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. They are all within easy reach with Newgale and Broad Haven being the closest or head in-land to walk in the Preseli Hills to enjoy stunning far-reaching views and Llysyfran Country Park which offers canoeing, biking trails and fishing.

This wonderful accommodation is comfortable, modern and just as shown in the photos. The location is excellent for reaching all areas of Pembrokeshire whilst being set in a woodland area close to the river Cleddau with lots of local attractions. Christine and John are amazing hosts and their attention to detail with lots of thoughtful touches was really appreciated. Would recommend and will return if planning another visit to this area. Thank you.

My partner and I stayed with Christine & John for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. Garden was peaceful to sit in. The apartment was thoughtfully kitted out (lots of tea spoons, towels and even a hot water bottle!). We cooked 3 of the 5 nights there, and had everything we could need in the kitchen - including some freshly laid eggs from their rescue chickens and welsh cakes. Location was great - within half an hour drive of most of Pembrokeshire and 8 min drive to nearest grocery store. Lots of good local recommendations (Picton castle is about 2 miles away - interesting castle and tasty restaurant). Christine, her husband John and their friendly dog Tipper made us feel very welcome. Can’t recommend this place enough. We hope to be back one day :)

The annex was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was glorious and the bedroom was very cozy. From the living room you could see the back yard where either chickens were picking around or squirrels were stealing bird food. Their dog was super friendly and loved to be pet. Christine and John were very friendly and always helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Well what a complete gem we found, a quiet cosy cottage a great location to do as much or as little you want. Immaculately clean, totally equipped and everything thought of, flowers, eggs, milk etc...oh and those homemade Welsh cakes, heaven. Doggy welcome pack. The cottage overlooks the garden view with chickens, wild life birds, squirrels, just happy to chill with a glass of wine and the adorable Tipper the resident dog who would visit our two little dogs daily. A wonderful stay with fabulous hospitality and will definitely return on our next visit to the area. Thank you so much.

Lovely Cottage and wonderful place. Enjoyed watching the birds, had a relaxing time. Hope to visit again soon, later in the the year.

Steve and Christine Jones

Woodview is a lovely cottage, it was immaculate and very comfortable. The garden was beautiful with an amazing array of birds that frequented the bird feeders, most notably a Woodpecker! The Rhos is a beautiful part of Pembrokeshire and perfectly situated as a base. We would heartily recommend Woodview and we will definitely be making a return visit, hopefully next Spring.

Morgan & Laura

Pembrokeshire is a hidden gem and you will not regret visiting if you like green countryside, golden beaches, winding lanes, rugged coastline, rolling hills, charming towns and villages (Narbeth, Carew, Little Haven and Pembroke we particularly liked), majestic castles, fresh air, and friendly people. There is so much to see and do here, rain or shine, it took us both by surprise. The accommodation was just what we wanted and had many touches that made us feel so welcome: the honey, Welsh cakes, guide books etc. The cottage is in a brilliant location to explore the area (I highly recommend taking your bike as most mornings we went for an early morning ride to the nearby village and back) and we cannot recommend staying here more. Thank you very much.

What a wonderful welcome we've just had from Christine and John in Woodview. You've thought of everything in your lovely, newly furbished holiday home. We enjoyed total relaxation in your idyllic rural retreat from the moment we arrived. Your garden with the woodland, orchard, beehives and chickens is an absolute delight and a bird lovers paradise. The bird guide books were well used!! The ease of access and the wet room were perfect for my husband who struggles with steps. The lovely new Laura Ashley bed and bedding was so comfortable and guaranteed a good night's sleep after exploring beautiful Pembrokeshire. We'll definitely be back..... we'll be needing more of that delicious honey and a complete break from city life!!!!
