My Travel Monkey's Favourite Places to Eat

Blogger My Travel Monkey share the places they chose to eat in Pembrokeshire

In April 2019, the award winning travel blogger My Travel Monkey paid a visit to Pembrokeshire for a short break. Staying at Hafod Y Coed near Narberth for a few days during the Easter holidays, the My Travel Monkey family had the chance to explore the south county of Pembrokeshire. With two active little boys in tow, they visited some of the local sites including Tenby Harbour, Pembroke Castle, Colby Woodland Garden, Heatherton and more.

But where did they eat during their stay you might ask?

Each and every guest staying with Coastal Cottages has access to our exclusive Concierge Team. We're on hand to offer a wealth of insider information whether it's your first time or your thirty first time visiting the area. One of the top questions we're asked is "Where would you recommend to eat?", so we thought we'd pick My Travel Monkey's brains to find out where some of their favourites are.

Top Joes, Narberth

"We happened to walk past the inviting windows of Top Joes, and as soon as my eldest saw a sign for pizza we decided to give it a try. And we're glad we did! The pizzas were authentic and tasty - and while they didn't have a children's menu, the children happily shared a Margherita. My standout dish was a prawn ravioli in sage butter."

The Stowaway Coffee Company, Tenby

"On a windy cold walk down to Tenby Harbour, we happened to stop at a cute, tucked-away cafe hidden in the harbour wall. It was the perfect place to sip a hot coffee and get a respite from the weather. We were lucky enough to find a cosy spot in the back where we tucked into crab sandwiches and homemade cakes. The kids loved its quirkiness and playing dominoes."

The Stone Crab, Saundersfoot

"Desperate for some fresh seafood on our first outing to the stunning beach town of Saundersfoot, we headed to The Stone Crab, just by the harbour's edge. It may not look much from the outside, but the restaurant is a real hotspot. While we could have sampled all the amazing seafood on offer, we were just happy to eat fantastic fish and chips."

Tenby's Traditional Fish and Chips

"One of our favourite moments exploring Tenby was grabbing a few boxes of freshly made scampi and chips from the excellent Tenby's Traditional Fish and Chips, and walking to the promenade near Tenby beach. With plenty of benches to park ourselves on, we not only had a lunch fit for Royalty but a view to die for, too overlooking the sea."
