Cardigan Bay is an outstanding and internationally important area for marine wildlife and much of its coastline is designated as Heritage Coast. Particularly scenic sections, such as Mwnt and Cwmtydu, are managed by the National Trust. The bay offers shelter to some of Britain's rarest birds and marine species, whilst also having resident populations of bottle-nose dolphins, porpoises and grey seals - always a crowd pleaser!
In terms of the area’s manmade highlights, history buffs will love visiting both Cardigan Castle - which was recently fully restored and opened to the public in 2015 -and nearby Cilgerran Castle, which is among the most stunning medieval ruins you are ever likely to see.
