Self-catering holidays in Llanrhian

Porthgain Harbour Pembrokshire

Porthgain Harbour

The community of Llanrhian includes the settlements of Llanhowell, Croesgoch, Portheiddy and Porthgain. Our Llanrhian holiday cottages are within walking distance of a range of historic and fascinating buildings; the ancient church is dedicated to St Rhian and is Grade II listed, whilst both the old school and the local farm cottages were built in 1769 and still stand proudly today. Llanrhian is also noted for its stone watermill named Melin Llanrhian, which is now a converted private cottage.

The village is ideally positioned for exploring the many beaches and coves nearby, and the popular Sloop Inn is less than 1.5 miles away in Porthgain, where you can sample the fresh fish that the local fishermen bring in. Alternatively, continue along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and explore the other pretty fishing villages that punctuate this beautiful stretch of land.

Traeth Llyfn beach, one of Pembrokeshire’s finest, lies just beyond the headland; it is surrounded by cliffs and benefits from having steps that lead down to the golden sand and rock pools. Exploring this glorious beach is a must for visitors. The nearby village of Trefin (which has a popular village pub) also lies along the coast and is right next to Aberfelin Beach, whilst in the other direction you will find Abereiddy Beach which, with its black sand and famous Blue Lagoon, is ideal for swimming, coasteering and kayaking.

The tiny city of St Davids is only a 10-minute drive away and boasts an excellent range of shops, pubs and restaurants – and, of course, the well-known Cathedral and Bishops Palace are well worth a visit, too. The more energetic, meanwhile, may wish to sample the water sports on offer at Whitesands Beach, which is popular with surfers all year round.

Basing your getaway at one of our holiday cottages in Llanrhian will introduce you to a piece of Pembrokeshire paradise that will let you truly escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
