A Little About Llechryd...

A small village approximately three miles from the market town of Cardigan, Llechryd was once important for the transportation of slate which was extracted from nearby quarries. The direct translation of Llechryd is in fact Slate (Llech) Ford (Rhyd).

Situated alongside the River Teifi, this village has two local pubs, which serve good food and a well-stocked village shop.

Only a five minutes' drive away takes you to the bustling market town of Cardigan, which has a weekly farmers market, galleries and an excellent theatre and cinema.

The Welsh Wildlife Centre is a must for any visit and is located just a few minutes’ drive away. Based in the stunning Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, fantastic for seeing a wide range of wetland wildlife. Dragonflies abound, otters play in the rivers, and wonderful birds can be seen all around the marsh.
