St Florence is a charming village and a past winner of the prestigious Wales In Bloom Award. Laced with pretty cottages, one of which contains a Flemish chimney- the last surviving one of its kind in the county, this village is set in the pleasant valley of the Ritec. The village's 13th Century Norman Church sits neatly alongside its dominating tower, which can be seen from many spots around the area.
The village gets its name from St Florent, to whom the church is dedicated to and is home to six listed buildings and several peculiar medieval stone vaulted yeoman houses.
Located under 4 miles from the famous seaside town of Tenby, and the popular villages of Saundersfoot and Manorbier, St Florence is a perfect location to experience a wide range of areas and activities.
The village is home to the TV broadcasted Anna’s Welsh Zoo- a wildlife park which holds conservation close to its heart. The animal attraction, run and owned by Anna Ryder Richardson, is a favourite with locals and tourists. Visitors get be educated about particular species, along with having the chance to watch a number of mainly endangered species feed, play and wander comfortably in large and natural surroundings.
Whilst exploring the village, its well-stocked shop, 2 pubs- The Parsonage Farm Inn and The Sun Inn- of which has a takeaway menu, and fabulous footpaths, look out for the remains of an old walled deer park on the northern slopes of the ridge-way, once owned by the Earls of Pembroke.
The Parsonage Farm Inn is situated in St Florence near to Tenby, with a traditional country setting with a modern twist. The Parsonage boasts two restaurants, one on the top floor and one on the middle, plus a lounge bar on the ground floor as well as a sports bar which is regularly used to host live entertainment evenings. They even offer Thai cuisine in one of their restaurants.
The Sun Inn is located in the pretty village of St Florence. The Pub is situated on the one-way system in the middle of the village on the east side of the church.
