A Little About Haverfordwest...

The historic town of Haverfordwest, set on the river Cleddau and once a thriving port, is well worth a visit, along with it’s wonderful Farmers Market. There are plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants, a cinema and even a skate park in this beautiful town. 

Take a wander around Haverfordwest’s old castle ruins, which are still standing, and join in on the town’s ghost walk.

With it’s close proximity to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and a huge range of stunning beaches, such as Broad Haven, Newgale, Druidston and Nolton Haven, it is an ideal place for your stay.

Adrift Pottery
Unleash your creative side in a relaxed working pottery studio. Suitable for all ages learning a new range of techniques and create a ceramic piece to keep forever, or as a perfect gift for a special occasion. A perfect opportunity to get your hands messy with a lump of clay! Great fun for everyone. Please Note: Sessions last up to 90 minutes; 1kg of clay with a bisque firing is included in the cost. The first session involves making your pottery with a subsequent session spent decorating/glazing your pieces. However if you are unable to make it back they offer a glazing and postal service. All sessions need to be booked in advance.
Belle Vue Brasserie

Belle Vue Brasserie is situated on the fork between the Dale and Haven Road, just a walk away from Haverfordwest town centre, A great place to enjoy a family meal, a dinner date, or just drinks with friends. The restaurant is peppered with quirky and antique curiosities which makes the Belle Vue’s dining experience unique and personal. So whether you are wanting to lounge by the two real log fires or venture outside to enjoy the garden, where they grown their own herbs, vegetables and fruits which they use for the food, this restaurant is brimming with Victorian style.

Cafe Rio

Cafe Rio is a Spanish speciality cafe located in Haverfordwest Quay Street. They serve breakfast lunch and are opening Wednesday and Friday for evening meals often having pasta and pizza themed nights. Cafe Rio offer many tapas dishes to eat in or take away.

Clerkenhill Adventure Farm

Nestled in the Pembrokeshire Valley, Clerkenhill is a great day out for the family and is suitable come rain or shine! Clerkenhill offers a selection of exciting and interactive indoor and outdoor activities to enjoy, these include Frisbee Golf,Crazy Golf, Adventure trails. Watch the children laughing and playing in the numerous large play areas which include giant tube tunnel slides, big adventure castle or relax in their new summer house!

The Dragon and pearl is a Chinese restaurant in the heart of Haverfordwest town. Eat in or take-away options available as well as special Cantonese meal deals.
Drovers Arms
Situated in Puncheston, just less than fifteen minutes from Wolfscastle, the Drovers Arms is a friendly local pub. It offers a range of pub favourites as well as a popular Sunday lunch, for which booking in advance is recommended. They also offer specials as well as takeaways.
Friars Vaults Ltd
The Friars Vaults is located in the heart of Haverfordwest town. It serves food and drink every day and has also become a popular stop for morning coffee for shoppers. Its serves traditional value food with extensive menu. Local ales, beers and wines available.
Hangar 5 Trampoline Park
Get airborne at Wales' first indoor trampoline park. Over 100 interconnected trampolines, angled walls, roll-over platforms, slamdunk basketball nets, grab bags, trick airbag. They also have a FREE under 5's soft play section which is perfect to keep the little ones entertained. Parents can relax and enjoy a coffee and cake in the Hangar 5 Café located right by the soft play area. High flying fun for all of the family! Disco nights every Friday for all ages. Trampoline fitness classes are also available. On-line booking is advisable. Dogs are welcomed providing they are clean, friendly and kept on leads. 
Haverfordwest Castle & Town Museum
Originally constructed in the 12th Century as a fortress made from timber, and has seen visits from a number of famous names including Oliver Cromwell and King Richard II. The castle was later reconstructed in stone, and was often used to house prisoners before being replaced by a new prison building inside the castle grounds in the 19th Century. This building is now home to the Pembrokeshire Records Office. Not much remains of the stone castle other than the stone wall which grandly looks upon the small town below it. A must-visit is the Town Museum, located in the Old Prison Governor's House. With artefacts, prints, paintings and models, this museum tells the history of the castle and the surrounding town.
Haverfordwest Farmer's Market
Every Friday, Haverfordwest Riverside Shopping Centre opens it's streets to the popular Haverfordwest Farmer's Market. This market offers a wide range of good quality local produce where you can buy and taste many of the products, as well as speak to the people behind the produce. These markets offer seasonal produce throughout the year including Christmas goodies throughout the month of December as well as Harvest produce at their special Harvest Fayre event which happens every September. Their special Easter Market offers a wide range of Easter goodies as well as children's activities such as an Easter Egg Hunt and face painting. The summer kicks off with a special BBQ Market where you can pick up all the produce you need for a great barbecue including meat, veg, sauces and chutneys - you might also pick up a few top tips from their cookery demonstrations!
Haverfordwest Golf Club
Haverfordwest Golf Club offers a challenge to players of all levels and affords spectacular scenery as it is set near Pembrokeshire National Park is West Wales, with views over to the Preseli Hills and beyond. It is a parkland course that is noted for its superb greens and well-manicured fairways. The clubhouse was erected in 1994 and has been welcoming plenty of visitors ever since.
Haverfordwest School of Flying
Head for the skies and see Wales from a very different angle! This school offers a range of pleasure flights and flying lessons in both aeroplanes and microlights.
Hilton Court Gardens
Hilton Court Gardens is the most idyllic place to visit, particularly on warm sunny days. With 8 acres of woodland, cascading waterfalls, rustic wooden bridges, ponds and lakes, there really is plenty to see. For any of you wildlife lovers out there, Hilton Court Gardens are bursting with a whole array of wildlife and flowers. Dogs are welcomed in the gardens providing they are kept on leads. 
Hotel Mariners

A family run Hotel which is situated in the centre of Haverfordwest. They have an on-site bar which offers homemade food for lunch, dinner and snacks. The hotel Thoughtfully and comfortably modernised Hotel Mariners is well known for a high standard of cuisine coupled with a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Llys Y Fran Country Park & Reservoir
A really great day out for the entire family. A woodland circular walk of 6.5 miles around the park is a great day out for families of all sizes, with a lovely picnic area overlooking the reservoir, with a nature trail to follow too! Take the kiddies along and let them loose on their popular adventure playgrounds! This country park covers 350 acres with an impressive reservoir of 212 acres! Please Note: Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Charges apply at the Car Park.
Maria’s Courtyard Restaurant at Picton Castle

Maria’s Courtyard Restaurant at Picton Castle is the ideal place for a tasty lunchtime or afternoon indulgence. A fully licensed ‘bistro’ style restaurant with cosy wood-burning fire on the colder days and plenty of seating outside for the warmer days!.  The menu changes seasonally, using local produce where possible, to create a superb selection of dishes. All food is prepared fresh to order. Sunday Lunches ‘with a Mediterranean twist’ and Friday is Tapas nights are a speciality. The Restaurant, Shop and Deli is open all year round, when the Castle and Garden are open to the public (from March to  October) 

Please note: Normal garden admission fees are payable until 5.00pm. Lunchtime reservations are not normally taken during the busy summer or Bank holiday periods, but can be made at other times. Advance booking are needed for Sunday lunches and the Tapas nights.

Mayfield Golf & Driving Range
Mayfield Golf & Driving Range is a 9 Hole Golf Course, completed with a 16 Bay Driving Range. The Course is made up of a mixture of Par 3 and Par 4 Holes. Lessons available, visitors and societies welcomed. Societies are recommended to book in advance.
Nolton Stables, Zorbing and Segway
Located in a pretty coastal village, Nolton Stables is located to enable visitors to take full advantage of Pembrokeshire's beaches and coastal fields. Suitable for all ages and riding ability, the stables offer a range of riding activities. Visitors can also experience the thrill seeking activity 'Zorbing' and 'Segway', a crazy, exhilarating, adrenaline experience that will have you coming back for more.
Oriel Linda Norris Gallery
Contemporary landscape paintings, glass and prints on show in the artist‘s gallery. Visitors welcome to the gallery in the summer or by appointment. Painting courses are also available.
Paddle West
Paddle West is a brand new canoe hire attraction with two bases, one at the Riverside in Haverfordwest and the other at the mill pond at Pembroke Castle. Between Spring and Autumn, venture along to one of these locations on a dry day and you are likely to find a selection of different sized canoes available for hire. Each kayak comfortably seats two adults and a child, making for a great day out!

Alternatively you can opt for an estuary tour along the Cleddau (approximately 3 hours) or book in for some tuition with the canoe and kayak coaching sessions available.

Palace Cinema
The Palace Cinema is a two screen cinema situated at the top of Haverfordwest town. Showing a range of films, the cinema is equipped with Sony Digital 4K. They do not take bookings and seats cannot be reserved, so it is recommended to arrive early enough to avoid disappointment. Refreshments are available, as are 3D glasses when 3D films are being shown.
Pembrokeshire Motor Museum
Pembrokeshire Motor Museum has over forty motor cars on display, from veteran cars to classic cars. For each car on display, you can see a complete history. All cars are in excellent condition and are occasionally used by their owners for vintage car rallies etc. so please bear in mind that cars may not always be on display. The Motor Museum is also home to a licensed bar, a magazine and video lounge where you can read and watch all about motoring.
Picton Castle & Woodland Gardens
Built in the 13th Century, this castle is half fortified manor house and half fully developed medieval castle surrounded by forty acres of land and gardens. The castle and gardens is closed over the winter months for essential maintenance but is open for special occasions. Please Note: Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
Priskilly Forest Country House & Golf Club
Priskilly Forest Golf Club is a family run business which was established in 1992. Priskilly is an 18 Hole course, set in a beautiful location overlooking Strumble Head and the Preselis. Visitors and beginners are always welcome. Enjoy a woodland walk or a spot of lunch and really make a day of it.
Scolton Manor & Country Park
Scolton Manor was built in 1842 as a family home, and was even used as a hospital during World War 2. It is now a Victorian Manor House and Museum, set in a luxurious 60 acres of country park and woodland, with a wide variety of wildlife. The park is open all year, whilst the Manor House is closed during the winter months. The Manor House will be opening again in March 2015, and times will be confirmed nearer the time. Please Note: Admission to the Park is free, whilst charges to the Manor House apply. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times, and are allowed in the Park only.
Slebech Park Restaurant
The restaurant at Slebech Park is situated amongst approximately 600 acres, alongside beautiful woodlands and the Dau Cleddau estuary. With an open log fire and a outside terrace, Slebech Park is a place to visit all year round. Open from breakfast through to dinner, you can also visit for lunch or afternoon tea - and there is a separate children's menu to keep the little ones happy. They also take private functions. Booking in advance is advised.
Something's Cooking
Something's Cooking is an award-winning Fish and Chip Restaurant and Takeaway offering a variety of fish dishes as well as flame-grilled burgers, locally made sausage and Welsh pies. They also offer a range of vegetarian dishes, as well as senior citizen's and children's menus.
Square & Compass Inn
A traditional family run pub serving real ales and home cooked food. Steak Night on a Friday and Sunday lunches available. They have two large big screen TV's showing all the popular sporting events. Please Note: Booking is advisable for Sunday Lunches.
The Bristol Trader
This pub and restaurant is in the centre of Haverfordwest and is very popular to locals. Enjoy a meal in the restaurant or be seated on the patio area overlooking the river. Booking is advisable. Please Note: Dogs are only allowed in the bar, not the restaurant area.
The Creative Cafe, Haverfordwest
Enjoy spending time with your family and friends in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. The Cross Inn, Clarbeston Road
A lovely country pub, The Cross Inn at Clarbeston Road is a family friendly pub offering delicious home-cooked meals. With stone walls, wooden flooring and oak beams, it has that traditional country pub atmosphere. Real ale is available, and they even host their own beer festival every summer! Please Note: Well behaved dogs are welcome on leads.
The George's

The George's is situated in the historic town of Haverfordwest, and is most definitely a unique place to visit. Part restaurant, part gift shop, The George's has plenty to offer. With a walled garden, a selection of natural remedies and clothing, it's the perfect place for a spot of lunch before browsing their gifts. They also offer a Dine at Home menu which includes a range of meals for you to take away and heat up. Dogs are welcomed in the front seating area and the garden, plus you can even buy natural dog treats from the shop in the back!

The Griffin Inn

The Griffin is a traditional family friendly Inn that serve Welsh real ale's and locally caught fish and seafood. It has a open fire for cosy warm nights and a outside terrace area for the summer months to enjoying the spectacular sea view. Much of the fresh local seafood, is caught in the Haven by the Griffin's local fisherman, Mark, in the Griffin's very own fishing boat, “Griffin Girl”. The Griffin offers a vast range of simple fresh seafood dishes from mackerel to turbot, razor clams to scallops, crab to lobster. The Griffin also has a bar menu with an excellent choice of home-cooked locally sourced food to suit all tastes including vegetarian dishes and a children's menu. Please note: Public car park near by. Charges will apply. Disabled facilities are at the public toilets nearby for which they hold a key.

The Lost Coins
The Lost Coins is a Marston's family-friendly pub serving hearty food all day 7 days a week. It is situated on the outskirts of Haverfordwest, only 2 minutes to the centre of town and 10 minutes away from the stunning beaches at Broad Haven, Little Haven. There is a great range of drinks, including award winning cask ales from 5 Marstons Breweries, a great wine selection as well as a range of soft drinks and spirits. They also have a dedicated kids menu and indoor and outdoor play areas, with outdoor seating area or alternatively you can snuggle up next to the indoor cosy log fire.
The Pelcomb Inn
The Pelcomb pub & restaurant is a family friendly county style pub, with a great choice of food, and real ales. Traditional menu and special's. Children's menus available and can also make some of the adult meals in smaller sized portion. In the summer months they often have live bands, theme nights. Please note: Dogs allowed in the beer garden and bar area only. They can cater for groups seating a maximum of 60 people. There would need to be a set menu and food would need to be pre-ordered.
The Secret Owl Garden

The Secret Owl Garden is a brand-new attraction located at the popular Picton Castle & Gardens near Haverfordwest. With 25 species of owl, you can learn all about the different owls through interactive activities at the undercover marquee and discover the variety of owl homes to see, each purpose-built specially for each owl. Follow the "Hoo's Hoo" trail with your free adventure map and see if you can spot all the owls hiding in their trees. Each day the owls are flown through the gardens allowing you that picture-perfect moment to see them spread their wings in flight. Also available are Private Owl Flying Experiences (90 minutes) and Group Taster Sessions (45 minutes). Prices start at £17 per adult and range up to £99 for a private family owl flying experience. 

Admission costs £3 for 2-4 years old, £7 for 5-16 years old, £9 for seniors and £10 for adults, under 2's go free. This admission includes entry into the Picton Castle Gardens, 40 acres of beautiful tranquil gardens. At Picton Castle, there is an art gallery, a restaurant, a gift shop and children's playground for you to take advantage of. You also have the opportunity for Guided Tours of the castle (additional charges apply). 

The William Owen - JD Wetherspoon
The William Owen is a Wetherspoon establishment in the heart of Haverfordwest town that caters for all the family. They serve classic breakfasts from 8am, lunch and dinner, as well as drinks and range of cocktails . They have an outside terrace with views of the river and TV's showing popular sport matches.
West Wales Karting
West Wales Karting, Withybush, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire is an indoor karting centre for family fun or competitive racing. Pit Lane access via a 20 metre footbridge spanning the Start/Finish Line with superb views of the entire track, 5 hairpins, Varying levels of grip ,Huge S bends section, 70 metre straight and with a choice of 10, 20 or 40 laps. There are group events of grand prix and endurance available. Racesuits, gloves and helmets are provided with a full safety briefing by experienced staff.
