March is Cancer Research UK's Walk All Over Cancer month and we here at Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire have decided to get involved.
Being located in the only coastal National Park in the UK, we are truly blessed to have the wonder that is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path right on our doorstep. So when we heard that March is Walk All Over Cancer month, we knew instantly what our fundraiser would be.
We have decided to take on the mammoth task of walking the entire length of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, that’s a total of 186 miles in length and an elevation on par with Mount Everest.
Across the 31 days of the month, individual members of our team will be hiking various stretches of the Path until we have covered the full distance of this world-class footpath. We’ve split the mileage up into numerous stretches and will be keeping you updated here on our website and across our socials with how we’re getting on.
We have pledged to walk in all weathers as we know the forecast can be somewhat unpredictable in Wales this time of the year, but we are of course keeping our fingers crossed for blue skies and sunshine!

But, we’re not stopping there. We’re an ambitious lot here at Coastal Cottages and so we’ve somehow managed to convince two members of the team to go one step further.
Our Head of IT Mike Hughes is aiming to complete the full 186 miles in just one week. He'll be starting in the north at St Dogmaels and working his way along the trail all the way down to Amroth in the south where he'll finish his journey.
Being Walk All Over Cancer month, we have pledged to take on this task as a fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK so that they can continue with the life-changing research and support they provide. If you would like to donate, please head over to our fundraising page here – any and all donations are very much appreciated.
As mentioned above, we’ll be tracking the team's progress throughout the month so make sure to check back to find out how we’re getting on and follow us on our social channels to see all the updates as we post them.

Did you know that £25 can fund one cancer nurse for an hour whilst £1,500 can fund ten cancer nurses for a whole day? As little as £4 can buy 100 test tubes and £30,000 can buy a gene gun which helps Cancer Research UK scientists learn more about cancer's weaknesses.
