The 2026 National Eisteddfod of Wales takes place in Pembrokeshire between Saturday 1st and Saturday 8th August. This festival celebrating Welsh language and culture is not-to-be-missed and takes place in the region for the first time in quarter of a century. Browse the cottages below to find your 2026 Eisteddfod accommodation in Pembrokeshire.
The Eisteddfod is a festival of Welsh culture and language with a rich history dating back to 1176, when it was first hosted by Lord Rhys ap Gruffudd in Cardigan Castle, Cardigan. This week-long carnival celebrates Welsh talent in all forms of art, poetry, dance, music, theatre and more.
Think of the National Eisteddfod as a Welsh Glastonbury, if you will. There’s live music, dance performances, theatre productions, late-night cabaret, workshops, recitals and exhibitions. The festival site (also known as the Maes) boasts over twenty stages, including a kids area, an LGBTQ space and of course, the 1700-seater Pavilion, which serves as the main stage. A whole host of competitions are held over the week of the Eisteddfod as well as during the weeks leading up to the main event.
Keeping you refreshed, there are bars offering Welsh drinks and spirits such as local gins and cider from the likes of Gwynt Y Ddraig, and street food vendors that are guaranteed to have your taste buds tingling.
Eisteddfod Y Garreg Las takes place between Saturday 1st and Saturday 8th August 2026 in North Pembrokeshire. It is held annually during the first week of August.
The main festival site for this year’s Eisteddfod will be set in Pembrokeshire in a place called Llantwd, between Newport and Cardigan in the north of the county. The catchment area, however, covers all of Pembrokeshire plus a large portion of the two neighbouring regions, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
