Porthgain is a tiny yet thriving coastal village made up mostly of a community of fishermen, an artist's gallery, a picturesque pub with excellent beer (plus first-class bar food), and an excellent restaurant. The perfect base for a Pembrokeshire Cottage Holiday.
The harbour is sandy-bottomed, and one of Pembrokeshire's finest beaches lies just over the headland at Traeth llyfn, which is owned by the National Trust and enclosed by high cliffs, with steps leading down to the sand.
A little further afield from our Porthgain holiday cottages is the beautiful Whitesands Bay, a favourite with surfers, and the tiny historical city of St Davids, where the stunning cathedral, quirky shops and pub/restaurants are all well worth a visit.
Porthgain is a fabulous spot for watching glorious sunsets in the evenings and seeing fishermen landing their catches in the mornings. Alternatively, the wild and rocky Aberfelin beach lies in one direction along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, with the tranquil Abereiddy in the other – and both these beaches are sure to capture your heart.
With the area’s relaxed atmosphere and natural beauty, our holiday cottages in Porthgain are perfect both as an ideal romantic retreat for couples and as a base for enjoying a fun getaway with friends and family.
