Love, Louie - Who They Are & All About Their Dog Hampers
How one company offers superb dog hampers whilst also supporting animal charities
Our Concierge Team are always brainstorming ideas for fantastic packages and experiences to offer you, our guests. And at heart, we're a team of proud dog lovers. So when Love, Louie got in touch to tell us all about their hampers for dogs and how each sale includes a charity donation towards a rescue centre - we just knew we had to get involved.
The following blog has been kindly written for us by Amy at Love, Louie. She's one of the founders at this wonderful company.
The Love, Louie Story So Far
How we started is often a question I get asked, now I'm ready to tell all about it. It all started back in May 2018 when I was on Maternity leave from my office job after having our first child. Having been home with Louie and a baby for almost a year, I loved it and didn’t want it to end (like so many new parents!). It also gave me much needed time to reflect on what I wanted to do in my future and that was to make a difference to the lives of animals that were in rescue centres and have my own business to provide a new work/life balance with our young family and naughty sausage dog!

So I decided to take the big step to push this idea that I'd had for a little while - to provide the highest quality boxes for pets using items that we would be happy to give to our own pets. We wanted to make sure all were tried and tested by our own pets, if they didn’t like something it didn’t get added to the box. We went through a lot of toys and treats, Louie thought he’d won the lottery on the majority of days!
We then started by trying other boxes on the market to see what worked and what didn’t, safe to say we didn’t like any of them! They were full of cheap bargain shop toys and treats where I couldn’t pronounce half of the ingredients! It was at this point I realised there is a huge gap in the market for quality boxes that haven’t got to cost the earth and the best part they can help less fortunate animals with every box sold, everyone wins!
That’s how we came up with the unique idea to us - to provide options for the boxes to be designed based on the needs, likes and dislikes for every pet because all pets are different. If they have certain food allergies or need super tough toys to save fluff going everywhere, they should be able to get it and at no extra cost. We then tried lots (and I mean lots) of different toys, treats and accessories until we found the perfect high-quality toys, natural treats and useful accessories to start the launch of the business.
The reason for the name Love Louie is because Louie loves it all! I’ve thought of it as a gift for your pet from ours signed off with a Love, Louie x

After a little while of finding our feet, getting the social media pages set up, the website published and finding our way with a new small business, we contacted our local Animal Rescue centre to see how we could help and came up with the idea to create special rescue boxes with profits going to the rescue centre. This then developed as we grew the business over the years, we are now partnered with several large and small rescue centres such as Blue Cross, Wood Green and Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary just to name a few.
We are so proud that we can help as many animal rescues as possible both through this direct work and the donation chosen by the customer at the checkout. We have just reached the £10,000 mark raised for various animal charities all over the world! When we started, I would never have dreamt of reaching that amount.
Over the years, we have also developed the business to start working with other like-minded companies, such as holiday companies like Coastal Cottages as well as Insurance Companies, Dog Trainers and Dog Groomers. This list is constantly extending and developing which we are so thankful for every day.
Every time we receive an order, I get the same excited and thankful feeling, just like when we received the first-ever order! I don’t think that feeling will ever go away, it's true when you support a small business, you really are supporting a dream and for that, i will be thankful to you all every day.

When we first spoke with Amy and she mentioned that a portion of the profits will go to our chosen rescue centre, we decided to match that. 15% of the overall cost of every sale of the Pet Parcel through us will go directly to our nominated charity, the local Greenacres Animal Rescue Centre in Talbenny near Little Haven.
