Pembrokeshire Dog Walk: St Davids Head
Springer Spaniel Reggie goes wild for this coastal hike

This Pembrokeshire dog walk is a favourite amongst pooches and humans time and time again. Just around the corner on the coast of the St Davids Peninsula lies Whitesands Beach with the Carn Llidi outcrop protruding from the headland. Take the time to trek to the summit and you'll certainly be rewarded for your efforts - the views are out of this world!
Yes, it's safe to say that no visit to the charming city of St Davids is complete until you and your furry friend have explored the incredible coastline at St Davids Head. Our pal Reggie jumps for joy with his first step in the shore at Whitesands Beach - every time! Plus the sandy shoreline here is a top spot for a game of catch too so don't forget the ball.
Park up in the main car park next to the café at Whitesands to start your walk. Be aware though, charges do apply during the summer months and spaces can be in high demand on those scorching sunny days, so get here early to snag a spot or jump aboard the coastal shuttle bus down from the centre of St Davids.
Take the footpath to the right of the bay and meander your way up towards the summit at Carn Llidi for views over the coast and Ramsey Island. Stop off for a picnic or photo opportunity, many love to catch the sunset here. Reggie loves to wander along the Coastal Path chasing butterflies and insects through the vibrant wildflower hedges. Just make sure to be careful in areas as you may meet cliff edges and livestock so its best to keep your dog on their lead.
Suitable for: Energetic dogs and coastline wanderers
Distance: Approx. 4 miles
