What’s on in Pembrokeshire New Year's Eve 2026?

Your guide to New Year's Eve 2026 in Pembrokeshire

New Year

Whether you want to start 2027 with a bang or blow out the cobwebs with a brisk walk on New Year’s Day, there are plenty of New Year’s Eve events on in Pembrokeshire.

There can sometimes be a lot of pressure on how to spend New Year’s Eve, as everyone wants to make it the best night of the year and ensure they ring in the new year with memorable celebrations. To help you make the most of your New Year’s Eve in Pembrokeshire, we’ve gathered all the intel on NYE events in the region so all that’s left for you to do, is decide which one you’re going to be at when the clock strikes 12.

New Years Eve Events in Pembrokeshire

Tenby New Year Fireworks

Tenby always promises a busy end to the year as New Year revellers head to the seaside town to welcome in the new year with a bang! This free event in Tudor Square takes place annually on December 31st and sees large crowds gather in the centre of Tenby to enjoy the countdown together.

Spend your evening bar hopping to taste the local tipples of Tenby Brewing Co beers and Pembrokeshire gins before strolling down to Tudor Square to watch the fireworks display overhead, generously hosted by Tenby House.

If you're looking for fun celebrations without the city crowds, we would highly recommend a Tenby New Year's Eve experience.

Tenby's New Year's Eve fireworks will be held next on Thursday, 31st December 2026.

Fishguard New Year's Eve Street Party

The coastal town of Fishguard has a reputation for holding the best New Year’s Eve street party in the whole of Wales. Promoted as a fantastic family-friendly event, this party spreads through the whole town and is an excellent choice for a more relaxed NYE celebration. Expect a combination of partygoers in their best-dressed and casual locals in their waterproof jackets and bobble hats; the vibe is a delightful mixed bag, allowing you to make the night your own. It’s this laid-back atmosphere that is the magic which makes this such a beloved New Year’s Eve event by all who attend.

Expect a stage in the centre of the town outside The Royal Oak pub (where the peace treaty with France was signed in the Last Invasion of Britain) with bands playing music all night, stalls selling food along the streets and pubs on hand to warm the toes if you get too chilly. Much like in Tenby, the crowd doubles in size as the clock approaches midnight, with people emerging from the various pubs and restaurants to count down to 12 together on the square.

You must plan in advance if you want to spend your night at Fishguard New Year’s Eve Street Party because you'll need to buy a wristband, which will get you into the cordoned-off event space. All the proceeds raised at this event go back into it, funding preparations for the following New Year's event, making it a great local cause to support.

The next Fishguard New Year's Eve Street Party is scheduled for Thursday 31st December 2026.

New Year's Eve in Saundersfoot

If you’re planning a New Year's getaway in Pembrokeshire, Saundersfoot is always a top choice. In recent years, Saundersfoot has even hosted pet-friendly and low-noise displays, with fireworks set off from the harbour point casting spectacular reflections over the ocean.

This free event sees locals and holidaymakers gather all along the seafront to watch the fireworks; those who prefer elevated views can join the crowds lining the pavement of St Brides Hill. We recommend making a night of it by booking a table at one of the local restaurants in Saundersfoot, such as The Kookaba, The Mulberry or The Boat House, before venturing into The Royal Oak and HARBWR Brewery for a drink or two.

Saundersfoot's New Year's Eve fireworks will take place on Thursday 31st December 2026. Keep reading below to find out how you can get involved with the iconic New Year's Day celebrations in Saundersfoot too.

New Year's Eve in Haverfordwest

For New Year’s Eve in Haverfordwest, our top suggestion would be dinner and cocktails at either the Forbidden Florist or Waldo Lounge. With trendy interiors and rich, embellished touches, these restaurants are ideal for dressing up and enjoying sophisticated evenings out with friends.

Share a bottle of wine and chat the night away, or work your way through the cocktail menu to taste test the latest seasonal tipples. Make sure to book in advance as New Year’s Eve is sure to be in demand. Top the evening off with a casual drink or two at the bar in The Bristol Trader, before hopping in a taxi home.

If you fancy a spot of live music, HaverHub often hosts a NYE event - though this has yet to be announced for 2026. In 2025, they hosted a NYE Alternative Ball on the 31st December featuring a tribute band that performed some of the greatest rock hits from the 80s, 90s and 00s. The event started at 8pm and finished in the early hours of New Year’s Day, giving you plans for the whole evening.

Pembroke New Years Eve

Head to Y Cerrig Glas in Pembroke Dock for dinner and drinks this New Year's Eve to enjoy a low-key celebration with family and friends. This dog-friendly pub has free WiFi so there's no risk of not being able to send Happy NYE texts to all your pals.

Choose from a great menu with a range of pub classics, hearty favourites and festive dishes. Their selection of cask ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks will provide plenty of options to help you quench that thirst.

Other New Year Events in Pembrokeshire

If you've planned a New Year's Eve break in Wales and only have plans for the 31st December, it's time to check out all the fantastic events that New Year's Day 2027 has to offer.

New Year's Day Swims

For the adventurous, you might want to take part in one of the New Year's Day swims in Pembrokeshire. If your head is fuzzy from celebrations the night before, a cold sea dip is the perfect cure.

Enter the 2027 Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim to join in with a tradition that first started in 1984. This popular event attracts thousands of spectators to the seaside village, as well as thousands who brave the sea - a large percentage of whom are in fancy dress!

Alternatively, you can take part in the Whitesands New Year’s Day Charity Swim on Friday 1st January 2027. A local charitable organisation, the St Davids Penknife Club, run this annual swim on Whitesands Beach, a favourite for surfing.

New Year Pilgrimage

Anyone who would like to begin the new year in more spiritual surroundings can attend the New Year concert at St Davids Cathedral in St Davids. A truly wonderful way to welcome in the new year in a peaceful and breathtaking place of worship, you can expect brilliant music and entertainment. Make sure to take a look at the remarkable stained glass windows, the intricate wooden ceiling above and the grand organ up above.

During your visit to St Davids Cathedral, pop in to MamGu Welshcakes to pick up some handmade sweet treats or stop for a hearty pub lunch at one of the traditional country inns in the tiny city such as The Bishops or The Farmers Arms.

How about an alternative New Year's celebration?

Experience something new with an alternative New Year's celebration in the rural depths of Pembrokeshire with the Hen Galan New Year's celebrations in Wales. Worlds away from the fireworks and street parties of Tenby and Fishguard, there's a small community in the heart of the Welsh countryside that celebrates the New Year a little differently - on a whole different date, some two weeks after the NYE that you're sure to be more familiar with.

The people of the Gwaun Valley celebrate Hen Galan (New Year in Welsh) annually on the 13th January following the old Julian calendar. If you’re looking to escape the crowds and ditch well-known traditions to join in a more wholesome celebration, this is a more unusual way to bring in the new year.
