Explore 175 acres of magnificent Pembrokeshire countryside home to red, white and fallow deer. This brand-new outdoor attraction opened its doors in the summer of 2023 and welcomes visitors to sightsee these beautiful beasts in their natural habitat amongst wild and organic grassland.
Situated in Gumfreston, on the outskirts of Tenby, Great Wedlock Farm & Deer Park houses nearly 200 deer within 150 acres of grassland, gorse land and woodland. Visitors can stroll the two-mile walk around the deer park soaking up incredible views over the Park and Pembrokeshire beyond, the highest viewpoint reaches across to Caldey Island and the Milford Haven Waterway. It is steep in places (not accessible for wheelchairs/buggies), but the nature walk is teeming with wildlife including foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits and squirrels plus various birds of prey. A wonderful nature reserve takes up the remaining 26 acres around the river Ritec with diverse habitats where you'll find further plant life, local wildlife and species of insects.
Being eco-friendly is at the forefront of the ethos with all energy being powered by their solar panels onsite, including their entire fleet of electric safari buggies and the four EV chargers located in the public car park. Hire a buggy during your day out here to explore the Park with a self-drive safari courtesy of their four-seat all-terrain vehicles. Each has a special intercom system so an expert guide can provide further information and history about the park. Alternatively, you can opt for a VIP safari in their 7-seater people carrier with an easy-access front-passenger seat or their easy-access wheelchair trailer which is towed behind a 4x4 all-terrain buggy.
Visitors to the Great Wedlock Farm & Deer Park can also enjoy picnics on the outdoors seating or pick up hot and cold refreshments at Bambi's Coffee Shop. Make the most of your day out under the sunshine with a playground and gym equipment set outside, available for both child and adult use. Indoors, you'll find a Cinema Barn complete with a large LED cinema screen and plenty of comfortable bean bags and armchairs where you can settle down for a movie. This space also hold a small indoors play area, interactive displays and pedal tractors with a straw bale track.
Note, dogs are not permitted into the deer park.
