Self-catering holidays in Ceibwr Bay
The nearby village of Moylegrove is located within walking distance to this beautiful secluded cove. Although it is known as being the remotest part of the Pembrokeshire National park, this pretty area is attractively made up of petite painted cottages, stone bridges and historic chapels and lies unspoilt, just 6 miles or thereabouts from the historic, but rural market town of Cardigan.
If you fancy a bite to eat whilst on your adventures, then try Penrallt Garden Centre, just outside of the village. This licensed tea room offers tasty snacks and meals along with lovely afternoon tea. The cliff walking around Ceibwr is high, craggy and awesomely beautiful, whatever the weather or season. The cliffs show evidence of impressive forces at work circa 400 million years ago when Ceibwr was created - admire the elegant folds and scrolls in the rock face.
The ruins of a fine Celtic fortress can be found on the northern cliff edge. The more romantic of visitors will be able to envisage the smugglers taking advantage of such a remote spot, along with the ideal locality of the cave on the beach. This rugged area is ideally suited to those seeking a quiet holiday near the amenities of Cardigan and Newport, but away from the more populated sandy beaches and busy town centres.
