Bwthyn Beattie (Beatties Cottage) is a delightful, traditional semi-detached cottage set in an enviable position in a hamlet of houses above Newgale Beach. Renovated throughout, yet retaining its ‘olde worlde’ charm, 4 steps lead up to the raised, paved patio that wraps around the front of the cottage, the ideal sunny spot to sit and relax and soak up the beautiful aspect over Newgale and out to sea, the sunsets are amazing. Step into the comfortably furnished lounge/diner with slate floors and a wood burning stove for cosying up on chillier evenings. 4 steps lead down to the modern, fitted kitchen, while stairs take you from the lounge to the pretty bedrooms set in the eaves. A door opens to the sheltered enclosed, rear garden with sloping lawn, the gravel patio here is the perfect spot to dine alfresco. The view is super towards the bay and out to sea. Views of the sea can be enjoyed from most of the rooms, while only a short 5 minute downhill walk will take you to the wonderful long, sandy Newgale Beach, popular with families and surfers alike.
An ideal holiday home for a family or couple to escape to. There is a water sports hire shop in Newgale so you can try your hand at various sports on offer, as well as a pub and cafes. Spend your days on the beach or join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and explore more of this beautiful coastline, to the west lies the picturesque harbour village of Solva with its pubs, restaurants, galleries and shops, while to the east is the pretty coves of Nolton Haven and Little Haven or the golden sands of Broad Haven.

This is our second visit to Bwthyn Beatties. We find it so relaxing being here and feel very much at home. It's great to get some fresh air here after the excesses of Christmas and then to return to the cottage for a proper fire, hot bath's, TV, reading and good food. We've found it a perfect place to spend New Year.
'A lovely fortnight back at our favourite place in Pembrokeshire- Newgale. First the cottage Bwthyn Beatties which has proved to be practical and in a lovely position - to be able to see and hear the sea is wonderful. Ate out several times at The Shed and Sloop in Porthgain- both very good - book The Shed in advance if possible, even if only the morning of the day you want to go. The Cambrian is always good but expensive compared with other restaurants in the area. The Harbour Inn , Solva car park was very good - we had curry and it was lovely. Trips to Skomer - nothing on a Monday, get there early to get a place on the boat - no pre booking. Caldey Island trips worthwhile too, boats run every 20 minutes but NOT on Sundays. On a nice day there is nowhere better than Newgale beach - rockpools were great fun and the youngest of our party was 43!
We have enjoyed a lovely week here at Beatties. Highlights include: • Boat trip round Ramsey Island • Walk to Porthgain from Abereiddy and supper at The Shed • Bodyboarding in the sea at Newgale But still lots to do when we come back again. Mwynheuwch! Diolch, Ela, Huws a’r teulu
'What a beautiful cottage, perfect for me, my husband and our 3 yr old son. Weather started off lovely but then had a few bad days with rain and wind but it didn't matter at all, we still found lots to do. We adore Newgale and the places surrounding it. We hope to move here one day. This cottage is by far the most beautiful . So cosy and equipped with everything needed and beds are so comfy! We plan to book again next year , hopefully for longer as a week just isn't enough. The milk and welshcakes on arrival were just lovelt- thank you. We have had the most wonderful stay! Lots of love, The Painters! '
'Our third consecutive stay at Beatties and we'll be coming back next year for sure. The cottage is superb and has everything we need. The weather this time was fabulous... spent all but one day on one beach or another. Angle is a good beach day out if you don't mind the hour's drive. Marloes is gorgeous if you're up for a 20min trek to get to the beach from the car park..its worth it. Little Haven and Broad Haven are nice beaches too with cafes close to get drinks and snacks. Newgale beach is gorgeous and Pebbles cafe is fab for snacks'
'Enjoyed our stay so much in this perfect cottage. We came especially to see the Sydney Nolan/Graham Sutherland exhibition at Oriel y Parc in St Davids. Superb! Nice lunch in the cafe. Bought a rug at Solva Woollen Mill as we fell in love with the one in the cottage! We hope to return next year. ! Caroline & David '
'We had a wonderful week in your cottage which was perfectly equipped and very comfortable. Lovely walks nearby, great scenery, fantastic beaches- would love to return.'
'A lovely fortnight back at our favourite place in Pembrokeshire. First time at Bwthyn Beatties which has proved to be practical and in a lovely position- to be able to see and hear the sea is wonderful.'
We are delighted with Beatties Cottage. What a find! Coming to Pembrokeshire for 60 yrs, we have tried it all - B and B, self-catering, caravans but this is the best ever.
Cottage comfortable and very clean, would probably like to come here again.
This cottage was perfect for us - great location with a short walk to Newgale Beach. Everything in the cottage was perfect including the Wi-Fi and DVDs for the wet and windy days.
A lovely stay despite the weather. The cottage is an ideal base for touring/exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast. Many thanks for the milk and Welsh cakes.
A lovely week that went by all too quickly. The cottage was fantastic and cosy after a day exploring. If you are lucky enough to get a sunset over Newgale it is spectacular so enjoy it.
Another great couple of weeks in Pembrokeshire. Walked the coastal path from Solva and Broad Haven using the bus which is great too.
This cottage was the perfect escape from busy city life in Rotterdam. We loved Wales, friendly people, beautiful coastline, everything nearby. We hope to be back.
We absolutely loved the cottage! Perfect location and stunning views!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. We found it very well equipped and so tastefully furnished. We had some of the sunniest weather this year-what could be better than eating our supper outside on a warm summer’s evening enjoying the view over Newgale beach.
Fantastic holiday in a fantastic location in a cottage that feels like home. We will be back.
Lovely cottage, very well equipped and in such a lovely location. the beach is incredible. Overall brilliant stay!
Very nicely set up cottage. Lovely week, thank you.
First visited Beatties Cottage 12 years ago and stayed quite a few years in spring, autumn and summer. Love the Open Plan room downstairs. The Welsh teacakes and milk were a nice welcome.
A gorgeous week! Lovely cottage, sunny weather, amazing coastline. Lovely to start and end the day at our cosy well-equipped Beatties Cottage and sink into comfy attic bed. Thanks Coastal Cottages for a memorable week.

What a lovely week in this lovely cottage - thank you for a great week.
We've had a fun and relaxing holiday in this lovely, well equipped cottage, in a super location. Thank you for providing all that we needed. We are sure to be back again.
We picked Beatties cottage because it was small and had a woodburner. We have had a great holiday here. The cottage is perfect - so functional but at the same time homely and tasteful.
Arrived in an absolute torrent of bad weather but it did nothing to spoil our joy at arriving to stay in such a lovely cottage. Every holidaymakers' needs have been catered for. The views and peace and tranquillity does much to soothe away the cares of everyday living.
The cottage has been wonderful and we have had a great time.
It's so close to the beach we can walk to Newgale in our wetsuits. It's a warm tastefully done cosy cottage.
Lovely open space, beautifully refurbished, welcoming touches appreciated, spacious and comfortable, great location and views. Probably the best holiday let cottage we have ever stayed in!
Superb cottage. Obviously a lot of thought and effort made to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of guests. The perfect place for people to come to relax and unwind. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Thank you for our lovely two weeks at Bwthyn Beatties once again. Hope to be here as usual next year in June.
Have had a very enjoyable and comfortable week here at Bwthyn Beatties. What a joy to find all those Lockley books on the shelf to read voraciously. Have so enjoyed the cottage and its position - fabulous sunsets from here and the sound of the sea.
We have had a lovely week here. Cottage great and love the location for different beaches. View from front is spectacular.
Wedi cael amser bendigedig yn y bwthyn ger y môr. Edrychwn ymlaen yn fawr i gael dod yma eto.
Enjoyed our fortnight in this lovely cottage - our first time in Wales for many years.
Loved our week here, weather perfect, clean comfortable cottage with a view to die for, what more could you ask for?
A lovely week enjoying comfortable accommodation, wonderful coastlines and perfect weather.
We have had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. Thank you - we hope to be back again soon.

Mae Bwthyn Beatties yn ffantastic! Ni wedi cael amser bendigedig yma, ymlacio a joio'r view!
4 night stay over Easter for our first cottage holiday ever with our 2 sons. A truly lovely cottage we all adored and will definitely recommend. Thank you for ensuring the cottage was comfortable for our stay and we really appreciated the little touches. You seemed to have everything covered-even our favourite Tan y Castell welshcakes.
Another enjoyable stay at Beatties.
Many, many years we have been coming to Beatties, always it has been wonderful. I was really worried it might have been changed and I would not like it. But Oh Joy, thank you, thank you very much, it has changed of course but it still has that old history feeling about it, yet history cosies up with modern, they go well together. We hope to come here for many more years.
We have had a very relaxing 2 week stay, which has been most enjoyable. We have really enjoyed staying at this cosy, wonderful cottage. We hope to come back again in the near future.
A cosy, beautiful cottage for Christmas. A real Christmas tree - thank you! Lovely little touches made our Christmas perfect - including a particularly stormy sea! I love this place!
Scenic, stylish and spectacular. Thank you, we have had a wonderful weekend.
Thank you for making such a stylish cottage in a lovely location.
Perfect cottage for a weekend break away by the sea. Love the decor and layout - feels very comfortable and homely. Great location for exploring Pembrokeshire. Will be recommending this to family and friends.
We've enjoyed a lovely week here, despite the changeable weather, and enjoyed walking the cliffs locally, returning to the lovely homely cottage. We enjoyed the food at the Harbour Inn, Solva and also the Soup and Icecream at the Sands Cafe in Newgale!
This cottage was all that we hoped it would be. Shame it couldn't be said about the weather compared to the summer we've has but it didn't detracy from a good week.
Really nice cottage which was clean and comfortable. Very useful havubnf the beach so close. Close enough to Tenby to allow is to go Quad biking and Jet skiing.
What a Beautiful appointed cottage to make such a small space so comfortable is a huge compliment to the owners. Clean, tidy and we already knew how great Pembrokeshire was.
So Pleased to have stayed in this beautiful cottage. Amazingly clean & Comfortable. Had superb weather during our stay and the sunsets were often breathtaking! No need to go far as the great weather enabled us to make the most of the beach, tho we enjoyed a trip to the gallery and craft fair in St Davids. Also the 'Dinosaur Park' in Tenby was wonderful for our 3 year old who is obsessed with all things prehistoric :-) Great Fish & Chips in Broad Haven and the shed in Porthgain. We will defo be back for another visit!
Beautiful Cottage - attractive and practical- in a great location. We have had a great tiome and would recommend any of the following -coasteering with Newsurf, Newgale -Beach Ride with Nolton Stables -'The Shed@ - Fish and chip restuarant in Pothgain -BBQ on the beach This is a lovely base for a holiday - sad to be leaving.
Lovely Comfortable cottage. Felt right at home straight away. Being this close to the beach is fantastic but could get away from the crowds we needed to.
Beautiful cottage and location, great days down the beach and lovely meals out. Just the break we needed. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cottage with us. This is out first visit to the area - it will not be our last! The weather has certainly helped, it's been spectacular. We loved out cycle from Haverfordwest to Neyland and can recommend bike hire from Mikes Bikes in Haverfordwest - excellent bike - lovely traffic free run and lovely lunch at The Bar, Newyland Marina. We had lovely food at the Harbour Inn, Solva and nice coffee and cake aty the boat club, Solva. We did, however eat most meals at 'Home' and with that view who would blame us. Thanks again - we'll be back. :-)
What a find! We ate every meal at the front, soaking up the peace and tranquility of the setting. We love the cottage and it's history. It has been really well restored. Loved the slate flow and clean lines of the furnitue and open living space. Thank you so much.
What a favulous little cottage and situation. Thank you for organising the superb weather for us.
