We had a perfect stay at Lantern Cottage. Solva is picturesque with some lovely shops. There are several places to eat, but we particularly enjoyed the pub 2 mins walk from the cottage. We went kayaking in the harbour, this was superb. We found the local people very friendly and enjoyed visiting local beauty spots as well as walking on the clean sandy beaches and around the bay. This was all within a few minutes walk of Lantern Cottage! Lantern Cottage is snug and has a very warm feeling to it, there is parking for one car on site with extra parking opposite. The accommodation was very comfortable, and the addition of wood burning stoves made the evenings cosy and relaxing. We had breakfast in the garden overlooking the stream to a chorus of birdsong which was heavenly. The cottage is so beautiful it is definitely on our yearly visit list.
I stayed in Lantern Cottage for a weekend and loved it! The cottage is beautiful, very clean and has a lovely and cosy family vibe. The location is great, walking distance to the harbour, costal footpaths and local pubs and only a short drive away from St David’s. This is a lovely place for a break from the city, I’d definitely go back!
We enjoyed our stay at Lantern Cottage. The location, particularly being so close to the harbour, is great. It was the ideal base for exploring the area- walking, cycling and kayaking for us. Solva is very pretty and was quiet and peaceful. We ate twice at the pub just across the road. The food and service were good. We were lucky with the weather and a particular highlight was having breakfast most days at the end of the garden next to the stream. The accommodation was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing break for the five of us.
We have stayed in Lantern Cottage twice now and have really enjoyed our stays. The cottage is comfortable and really well equipped and easily accommodated our family of 6. We really enjoyed the lovely garden overlooking the stream as well as cosy evenings indoors. It is in a brilliant base for exploring the wonderful beaches and coastline of Pembrokeshire and there is plenty of good food available, across the road at the local pub and further afield. We have re-booked a return visit this summer.
What a perfect trip to Lantern Cottage! This will now be an annual trip! The cottage is absolutely delightful. From the cosy fire in the evenings to the wonderful garden with it’s very own babbling brook- perfect for morning coffees and evening wine – we couldn’t have asked for a better week away. It is within walking distance to a secluded beach, and a much longer walk to a local farm which makes its own delicious ice-cream – worth the cliff walk! I have to recommend the local pub which is one minute walk away. If you’re looking for a retreat, this beautiful welsh cottage ticks all the boxes. Check-in was really easy and has very comfy beds – didn’t want to leave!
